    iPad Air 11" (M2 chip, 2024) part of a Christmas gift, an upgrade to a 2016 iPad Pro. Initial transfer of settings and data seemed to go smoothly, then the transfer got hung up. Apple logo symbol of death for hours--a complete stall-out. Tried repeatedly to repeat the process, but could never get a clean reboot or restore option. Online research indicates this is not an uncommon situation for iPads. Apple service replied promptly by phone, but after an hour of tethering my iPad to my Windows PC to use it as a pass-through device to get to a Restore option on the iPad, with no success, I was finally told to visit a Genius Bar for Apple in-person support or just return the device to Best Buy. No sign of this device in inventory in the Best Buy region. I'm anticipating endless hours getting this exchanged. What a complete nightmare. Seems can't count on Apple for a successful Christmas gift. I'm remembering why I dread upgrading tech products, including Apple.
