I waited to buy one of these until the second edition came out.
I use the IPad to teach classes, read e-mail and watch video. The battery lasts forever and the screen is beautiful. Don’t believe the naysayers the 12.9 is not to big to carry and makes a very large big impression on your students and clients.

This is a great iPad upgrade, clear picture, good camera, fast processing. The keyboard and Apple Pencil really make working on it a breeze for everything from drawing to video editing.

The latest model added a few useful features, e.g. true tone, 120Hz refresh rate, faster processor, etc. As an owner of the previous 12.9 iPad Pro, didn't find any of these feature convincing enough for an upgrade, and the previous model still provides all the power needed. However, if you are first time iPad Pro owner, it's no brainer to go with the latest model.

I really love it! It is so fast and extremely light weight. I did a lot of research and this one was the one I liked the best and I’m parcel to the IPad after owning 4. I still need to figure out how to use the pencil with it. Hopefully I get over to Best Buy and they will help me figure it out.

Let me first start off by saying I love the iPad and I have been in the Apple eco system since the iPod mini, so I am going to give an honest review.
I have been increasingly interested in the Pro because of the screen the the ability to do more with the pencil, I am not an artist, but It’s so fun to draw and color with the pencil but that’s another review.
The iPad screen is beautiful, the resolution is clean and rich in color, it’s quick the 120Mhz was a big selling point as it helps the product age well as the ability to refresh at that rate because wide reaching.
iOS 11 is nice, I know there are things I have yet to find but it’s the same thing on my iPhone X so it’s all good.
Make sure to get size over 64gb unless everything is going into the cloud.
It works well as a laptop replacement and for spec for spec it’s a better buy than the entry level Air.
It’s lilely to replace a laptop because it’s easy to add a sleek detachable keyboard.
I’ll update

I was a little skeptical about the original iPad Pro though I enjoyed the sketching experience. Instead, I held off and later bought a Surface Book. I totally underutilized that laptop, as I also had access to a more powerful work laptop and a desktop at home. I really wanted the sketching experience but didn’t enjoy the surface book like I thought I would. Don’t get me wrong, it was a great device, just didn’t fit my needs. I sold that laptop and when the second gen iPad Pro came out I was hooked. The new screen is vibrant, fast, and perfectly sensitive. Sure it’s a little expensive for a 256GB tablet, but I envision I’ll be using it for years and helping sell work for my design firm. I love the new multitasking features and the real feel of using it with the pencil. I got about $100 off of the iPad Pro and pencil package, with very inexpensive geeksquad. If you love to sketch and consume media, this is the best device available.

Really love the large screen. Memory is always an issue with iPad and iTunes has its own issues, but I love how light this iPad is with this size screen.

This iPad may be a little pricy, but worth it! I use it for my small business. The screen is big enough to show my clients my product and portfolio! It’s fast and convenient. I would wait until the price goes down if you’re in a budget. In conclusion, it does the job.

This I Pad pro has (so far) replaced my *home* laptop. I still have a machine for work. I had hoped to do this earlier in the I Pad lineup - but was disappointed with my wife's air a few years ago - in terms of screen size/and lack of file support (like .RAW image files). With the 12.9 pro of 2017 however this thing has a big enough screen - but remains portable. It's fast, reliable and has plenty of storage - in the days of cloud based storage or network accessible storage. The screen is perfect and has a nice wide color gamut (something I was looking at paying north of 1400$ for in a laptop) - which is great for my photo editing work. Photography is not my profession, but a long time hobby. Given that many modern cameras have wifi/Bluetooth - photo transfer is easy. I'm sure it be faster with the adapter given that the 2017 pro lightining port supports USB 3.0 speeds - but wireless transfer is easy and painless. Lastly the App Store an available software had always been limiting for me. There is still no photoshop sadly - but the "lightweight" adobe editors are good for the adobe familiar, but don't get you all the tools of photoshop. Affinity photo (2017 app) on the other hand has been very impressive on the I pad - I'm able to work with nondestructive layers and have many of the tools I'd find in photoshop.
Pencil and keyboard are also very helpful depending on what you do, I don't draw often, but end up using the pencil as a "mouse" and the keyboard is great.

I’ve had various iPads and this was a normal upgrade from an iPad Air. After having it for about a month I can say it was much needed. It’s faster, better display, and for me I was having issues with my iPad Air charging correctly this one charges very quickly.

This is what a tablet should be. It’s big, but not too big, is very light, has a brilliant display, has impressive sound for a tablet, and is practically a laptop replacement when paired with the Smart Keyboard Cover. iOS 11 has made it even better with the new dock, drag and drop, and multitasking features. If you’re torn about whether you should get the 10.5" vs the 12.9”, go check them out in person. Though a good bit bigger, I found the 12.9” to be quite manageable and was really surprised as I expected it to be too big. If you’re in the market, you can’t go wrong with this tablet.

Was able to get this one on sale which is what put me over the edge. I am happy that I splurged because this most updated model is much faster and crisper than the old one I had. I used the money I saved on the sale to get the pencil - which is awesome.

Works like every other iPad we've owned...but a little faster and BIGGER! Love all of Apple's products, despite the negative press they are now receiving for slowing down older phones. Hate the company's views, but they make solid, reliable products.

I always try to upgrade my iPads whenever they come out. This one is the best ever. I have found a case that fits this model, so it even looks like a Mac laptop. Very convienent and fast.

I like the large screen especially with the logitech slim combo case and smart keyboard. It makes it much easier to travel with the ipad versus taking a large Macbook Pro. The Ipad Pro is as reliable as all of Apple's products--great product.

As a long time power user of the iPad, I have it with me much of the time. Once I hit a certain age, I found that the 9.7 inch model required me to zoom in a lot to enlarge the font for reading without reading glasses. The 12.9 inch model is a great option for me. In addition to the ease of reading, the four speaker sound is a great improvement over the standard model. I find myself using sound in situations where I may have kept it off in the past. Add to that the speed of the iPad Pro and you have a great tablet.

This Apple iPad Pro 12.9 is well worth the investment. High definition and extremely fast and smooth movements for multi-tasking. The large screen is light weight yet is excellent for graphic designing and retouching with the iPad Pen.

I use my iPad every day for work, not as a computer replacement but as as enhancement. For the most part I review and annotate (many) documents, take notes during meetings, create vector graphics, and make presentations (it is better for that purpose than a laptop, IMO). And yes I also use it for entertainment.
Because I use it so much, I decided to upgrade and I don't regret the decision despite the dent in my wallet. The form factor is seriously much more of an improvement than I expected; my wife still refuses to believe the screen is the same size as the previous model (it is). The apple pencil is a slight improvement in terms of operation -- it feels a bit nicer, and I won't miss the removable cap -- but the convenience of attaching it to the side of the device for storage and charging is a game-changer. I no longer have to remember to charge it over-night every few days. I also have the smart folio and it is an excellent improvement over the previous version.
The iPad Pro is simply the best-in-class tablet device. The screen is beautiful, it is crazy fast, and the apps are excellent. Since I store my files on iCloud, integration is seemless: documents that I annotate appear on my computer within seconds after changing them. So it is not a laptop replacement for me, but I used it almost as much as I use my laptop.
Yes there are some limitations. I'm a heavy Excel user and the iPad version is crippled since macros don't work. I can review and annotate others' spreadsheets, however, which I find more convenient then text boxes or cell comments. I also use LaTeX (rather than Word) and I haven't found anything close to Emacs + AucTeX. And I can't use R on the tablet.
Regarding cost: yes , it is expensive. But over its lifetime it will more than justify the expense for me. And, like all Apple products, they are built to last (I still use a 2010 iMac at home as a spare computer and it is quite usable) and they retain their resell value.

Replaced an iPad 4 with the latest version of iPad 12.9. It is lighter, faster, easier on the eyes and ears. Especially enjoy the larger screen size. One of the first things we did was watch a Youtube video showing how to install a keyless deadbolt. Very helpful! Would also be very useful for watching streaming video from Netflix, Hulu, etc. Photos are unbelievable.
Got it just in time to install the new IOS which isn't available for my iPad 4.
I waited a long time to upgrade my iPad 4 but it was worth it. Highly recommend.

Purchased this as a laptop replacement. Wife does not do too much heavy laptop work but, as a teacher she can use it for all the school stuff just fine! The screen is beautiful! Sounds I solid. Pen works great for everything!
