This replaces my 11” iPad Pro. I wanted a larger screen to use the split view and be able to see more on the screen. The 11” is also a good and has its own pros. The 12.9” works very well with the Apple Pencil and my note taking app. It is heavier than the 11” and you might need two hands to hold it. I’ve gotten used to it and it works just fine for me. I bought a ZuGu case to protect the iPad and the multi adjustable kick stand is great. I’m able to read in bed using the kick stand case sitting on my lap. I like having the cellular network available, but WiFi with a hot spot will work just as well. I keep all my photos in iCloud and this iPad views them all beautifully. I’m very happy with this purchase as I can use this instead of a laptop.

I have the 12.9” iPad. I love the screen real-estate! The display is vibrate and has great contrast being its an LCD panel. The stereo speakers are great and the battery life is that of any other iPad before it. This iPad Pro features USB-C which is great if you have other devices that feature it. That’s one less cable to carry around! I love the refresh rate on this iPad, as it is higher than all the prior models and its noticeable. Another thing I didn’t notice until I snapped a photo was, I know,... don’t judge me. I do occasionally take pictures with my iPad, but it has a flash next to the camera like the iPhone! That’s pretty cool. Face ID is a nice addition as well. You can use it in landscape or portrait mode and it works. The only con for me is the weight of the 12.9” model especially if you’re using a case like the Logitech’s Slim folio case. It’s quite heavy. Other than that its the best iPad to date, and my favorite!

3rd Gen iPad Pro replaces 85% of my Laptop Needs

Let's be clear: The 12.9 iPad Pro is outrageously expensive for a tablet. Not to mention, requiring another $300 in accessories (Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard) to function as a daily computing device. That said, I got a good deal on the iPad and viewed the total package as an investment in my education. Instead of buying a new Macbook Pro for grad school, I bought the iPad Pro and picked up a refurbished PC for any outstanding laptop needs I may have. The iPad Pro exclusively handles my 3 major day-to-day activities: (1) annotating powerpoint slides with lecture notes (Notability) (2) e-textbooks (lightweight, Ctrl-F, and 24/7 access) (3) responding to e-mail quickly and efficiently from anywhere My grad program requires that we have a laptop for testing, so that is one function that my iPad can't replace. I also do a fair amount of statistical analysis - coding is always more comfortable on a laptop and most stats software functions better on PC anyways. Finally, the Apple keyboard is great for responding to e-mails and typing brief notes but I wouldn't want to write a 10-page essay on this keyboard. That is one other area in which I would switch back to my laptop. I do think that you could get the same functionality out of the 11-inch iPad Pro but because I wanted to use the tablet as my main notebook and textbook - I opted for the 12.9" because there is no compromise in size. The 12.9" screen is actually the size of an 8.5"x11" piece of paper. Keep in mind, the 12.9" is slightly less portable than the 11" so if you're constantly on the move and weight/size are more important, you may choose differently.

Had the 9.7inch iPad Pro and due to wear and tear, I upgraded to 12.9inch iPad Pro. Was hesitant because of the screen size but I have to say I don’t regret it! Love how fast and efficient the iPad is. Would recommend it 100%

It is big, the screen is vibrant, and it has everything you could want in a tablet if you like one of bigger than average size. I had an earlier generation model and this one was a major upgrade compared to the one it replace. The other one was not a Pro model an was smaller but I like this one better. It is a matter of personal taste if you like the 12.9 inch size or a smaller unit but if you like a larger tablet I highly recommend the iPad Pro it is the best you can get.

I upgraded from a 2nd generation iPad 12.9 to this one. Battery life is amazing, much better than 2nd generation. Also it’s much faster and touchscreen is more responsive. Highly recommend the upgrade.

This is an amazing device. The screen is bright and vibrant, the battery life is okay, and size is perfect for my needs. I will say the tablet is overpriced, but that’s how Apple rolls.

The 12.9 inch iPad Pro is a must have device in my opinion. I have a young son who enjoys using the TV for Nintendo or Disney+ and my iPad works perfectly as a mini TV for myself while I’m laying on the couch or cooking in the kitchen. Canceled my cable subscription and instead added YouTube TV which works flawlessly on the iPad. As a sports fan, being able to watch games anywhere on a large tablet is a game changer. Summer evenings on the patio have been awesome with my iPad. Some say 12.9 inches is too big (that’s what she said), but I think this is the perfect size for a tablet.

This iPad is absolutely stunning. Lighting fast and the screen looks phenomenal. My only hope is that iOS 13 helps to reduce some of the limitations of this monster device.

I will admit that this 12.9 iPad with cellular is a little on the heavy side but boy is it worth it. I’m still trying to figure out why I need a regular computer after seeing what this can do. I Also got the combo key pad / protector cover and am so glad I did. It makes it much easier to hold it in your lap much less on a flat surface. Additionally, I got the Apple protection plan because these iPads are really getting pricy these days. I’m not kidding about comparing this iPad with my lap top which has less storage than my new iPad ( 1 TB ). I have yet to find anything that I can do on my laptop that I can’t get done on this iPad. I was hesitant about spending this kind of money on an iPad but I have been using my old one for several years to the point that most up grades did more harm than good on it. So I decided to go all in and got the 12.9 with literally every option you can get on one including lidar which I have no idea what to do with it but I’ll learn. I haven’t picked up my laptop since this arrived several days ago and have still got everything done I needed to. If you can think of it there is probably an app for it believe me. I would spend the money for this again in a New York Second because I can’t imagine anything in the future of iPads that Apple comes up with that would make me wish I had waited for the next generation (which I actually got a sneak peek at yesterday). The problem with iPads eWatches, laptops, desk tops and all the other electronic goodies out there is that if you keep waiting to make sure you have the most recent thing on the market, you will never actually get one because they are coming out with so much stuff that was unimaginable not all that long ago. So......stop procrastinating and just go get the one you have been looking at for so long because you will never figure out everything it can do as long as you own it and besides they are supplying updates constantly So you won’t feel left behind for quite a while. Remember when they were just phones and everyone had to have one ? Now they hold more information than you will ever need especially with the iCloud and do more than you will ever need done. I also remember when personal computers first came out ( mine was a kit you assembled and learned how to write your own code called the Radio Shack TRS 80 ) and no one could think of any way to actually use one that would be of any benefit to them at home. Now we can’t imagine living without one.
