Always been an iPad Pro fan but apple really missed the mark with this display. Aside from watching HDR video and seeing HDR photos, the display disappoints. Anything with a black background that has white elements causes a blooming effect that’s extremely annoying, especially at night. It is harder to notice in a brighter room. Not the sort of quality I’d expect from apple for a tablet that starts at $1,100.

One of the better iPads released by Apple. While the big screen size is an advantage, the weight is the main drawback. I used my iPad Pro mainly as a tablet for teaching. Connected to an AppleTv everything works as it should. Running multiple apps doesn’t slow this thing down at all.

The iPad Pro is truly a game-changer, and I absolutely love it! It's sleek, lightweight, and incredibly powerful, making it perfect for both work and play. The display is stunning—bright, crisp, and smooth, especially with the ProMotion technology that makes everything from scrolling to sketching feel seamless. The Apple Pencil takes the experience to a whole new level. Whether it's jotting down notes, brainstorming ideas, or creating digital art, it feels natural and intuitive. The multitasking capabilities are fantastic; I can easily run multiple apps side by side without any lag. Battery life is impressive, lasting me through long work sessions or extended leisure use. Plus, the integration with other Apple devices is seamless, making it a central hub for my productivity. From powerful performance to an unmatched user experience, my iPad Pro has become an indispensable tool in my daily life. It’s worth every penny!

This ipad is far better than i had expected. I have had the mini ipad, the ipad Air etc. Neither of them can give you the experience that the 12.9 can. It has basically replaced my laptop since they make an amazing keyboard and mouse trac pad for this device plus the speed of the processor and battery my daily work a breeze!

Very nice display! I just wish it had an USB port. I’m new to apple products so I learned the hard way on many differences from Samsung. The USB-C is different, so can’t use the lightning charger I have for the Iphone. Unlike Samsung (which lets you make nice folders for your photos), there is not a good way to organize your photos (at least I haven’t found a way yet). And you cannot transfer files via a USB stick (although I might try purchasing a USB-C / USB adapter…) All in all, it’s kind of a headache to figure out so it’s currently on my coffee table collecting dust. Now I’m looking to buy a MacBook Pro so I can actually use it like a computer and hopefully organize my files! I still like my trustworthy acer laptop, but it’s so old I’m afraid one day it will konk out on me. Good luck to everyone out there like me new to apple products! I miss my Android Samsung, but it did not have FaceTime and I needed to “get with the times” to be hip with the fam! This IPad was good because I got it on sale. Otherwise… I’d say go with the cheaper option iPad or just buy a MacBook Pro laptop instead. (I also bought the same with less GB storage for my mom and she LOVES it… but she only uses it to play her candy crush and pet rescue!)

Long term review: These iPads are an absolute beauty. From the picture quality to overall function it’s been a splendid time owning this lovely machine. It’s definitely not a machine that everyone needs but if you can utilize it like a “laptop” it definitely gets general tasks done. There is a little learning curve to get used to the OS but the overall experience to get through that period is relatively easy. If you’ve been thinking about getting one of these (or a newer generation) it’ll be well worth your time to do so. If you’re between this or a MacBook Pro though I’ll say this: Go with what you know you’ll utilize more. The iPad is much better for the creative in regards to art, notes, etc. It’s also wonderful for media consumption. However, it’s not a full fledged laptop so if you need actual laptop OS compatibility don’t hesitate to get the MacBooks. While touch screen is nice you won’t miss out on as much as one might say. :)

    Worth The Price Of Admission

This is my first iPad and only the second personal computer I’ve ever owned (I’m 30). I have always had work computers and my smartphone and have not felt the need to have a larger screen until now. The screen is phenomenal and with the new M1 chip this thing is lightning fast, faster even than my iPhone 12 Pro. All of these people saying there is an issue with blooming are exaggerating the images because this thing has deep blacks and very very little blooming that is not noticeable unless you go looking for it… and even then it’s hard to see. I use this for split screen Microsoft teams and outlook with several video calls throughout my day which look amazing with center stage. I run iMessage and Flipboard, GoodNotes 5 , Spark, social media, several tabs of safari and some various YouTube videos/ reviews throughout the day and I generally get 8.5 - 9.5 hours leaving the brightness on auto truetone. This thing does it all without even blinking. In my free time I watch various movies and shows from the likes of Netflix, HBO Max, Disney Plus, etc. just recently watched falcon and the winter solider and my god this thing makes me wish I could buy it in a 65 inch screen haha. HDR content looks great and spatial audio on my AirPods Pro compatible with this thing is a treat for the ears. This iPad is worth the price of admission, but if they had been able to keep the starting price at $999 it would have been perfect.

Amazing tablet. The power of the m1 chip makes this thing lightning fast. No problems editing and exporting 4k footage in lumafusion and photos in Lightroom. The hdr display is amazing and the blooming is no where near as big a deal as done people make it out to be.

In short, not too shabby and I'm satisfied for what I bought it for. In long, Screen: The display is great though because of the unique screen size, 4:3, most videos you'll watch will have black bars on the top and bottom of your screen. Also, the screen is glossy and is a fingerprint magnet for people like me with easily sweaty hands, so a matte screen protector would be recommended and daily screen cleaning is needed. Also, since it's a glossy screen (w/out screen protector), it doesn't fare well being in the sunlight, especially harsh sunlight so if you live somewhere with no shield from the sunlight, I wouldn't recommend it. Screen protectors may help but not too much, it's best if you don't buy this if you really can't help being in the sun. Though, the screen size gives tons of space to use for creative and writing work: drawing artwork (procreate) and writing notes down. Especially since I'm going to college soon and pursuing design, I would benefit from being able to take notes and having that screen for making designs. Screen, 4 / 5 Battery Life: The battery life is not bad. Certainly much better than my gaming laptop. I would get a good 4 hours watching anime and youtube videos at 60 percent. I'd recommend a charger if you plan on bringing it to some campus for studying, working, or just spending long hours at a place in general. So a good 6 hours would be what you get on a full charge doing whatever. Be mindful about if there are outlets to the places you'll be going to so consider bringing a portable charger. Though, considering it's a pretty expensive product, I'm holding my standards for the battery to be higher so since the iPad couldn't last as long as I thought it would, I'm disappointed and deducting quite a bit. Battery, 3.5 / 5 Weight: Now the weight is a bit uncomfortable to be completely honest, due to the size and everything, so holding my iPad straight up (with its back to ceiling) while laying down would be an uncomfortable position, even for a short while. Because of the slight heaviness, I would be inconvenienced and would have to go through the hassle of using my 2 hands to move my iPad position. Holding it in one hand and working with the other is a no-go and would get tiring quickly. I'll deduct a lot for this one because I prioritize the convenience of picking something up with little to no effort. Keep in mind, that I'm grading this section heavier than the others. The heaviness would go for 2.5 / 5 for me w/out the case. Durability: I can't comment. I would not sacrifice my 1000-dollar iPad Pro just to see how hard it can take a hit without a scratch, dent, or bend in it. Many reviewers comment that it's not the most durable and that dropping it may shatter the screen. Research through the internet for that. Also, breaking the screen will result in you needing to buy a whole new iPad because the screen is joined to the iPad and not separate from it so if you don't want that, you may want to buy Apple Care or have some warranty like that. Durability, unsure. Mobility: If you're constantly on the move, the iPad Pro 12.9 is definitely useful. Students who go from class to class, people who constantly travel, etc. The 12.9 has some weight to it, but for a 130lb guy like me who lives a sedentary lifestyle that barely works out, it's not an issue to walk around with and to pop in your bookbag. So for mobility and traveling around with it, 4.5 / 5 (- 0.5 just for weight, if it was lighter, it'll be a godsend). Overall: I like the iPad and plan to use it for browsing and designing work but I can't find much use for it for games. I feel a lack of good iPad games on the market that feels like it's making use of the iPad. Other than creative work and educational use, I can't find much use for the iPad. Productivity apps are useful but they don't justify the $1000 purchase. Even some editing software is good to use but you could just do the same on your laptop, and assuming you're using a Windows laptop, you have so much more options than on the iPad Pro. Many games are available, and more software (creative and whatever else) is available with more access to their tools (which are limited to the iPad). So, unless you have the money to spare and a purpose for the iPad Pro, using it for any other purpose may be a waste of money, and give you betray your expectations and excitement.

Upgraded from a 10.5 pro and have not looked back. Wanted a bigger size for reading books and articles and this has not disappointed. Found a great case on Amazon (Juqitech Trackpad Keyboard case) and it was over. It’s my go to for travel and daily tasks. I initially thought it was going to be too heavy but it’s been working out just fine. It’s not the latest one but the functionality is still outstanding. Not sure what the latest one has that this one doesn’t. If you’re trying to save a few coins, this is the way to go. It will not disappoint!
