This was my first Mac, was going to get Windows operating system. I have used Windows at home and at work for the last eleven years. Wish we had Mac at work, will not go back at home. It took a little while to learn but much better than Windows. It was easy to set up, automatically connected to my comcast email. Only one plug to connect and plenty of USB ports. It came with a wireless keyboard and mouse, but I bought another keyboard that had the number pad on the right side because I use it a lot. Keyboard also had two extra USB's on the ends of it, which were useful.

I am new to Mac but my son is starting to use MACs at school so I decided to buy one at home so that he is not left behind. Looks: Better than PCs/Windows Ease of use: Able to start using it without any problems in a couple minutes even with very little experience Value: Not the best value but if schools are starting to use MACs, you don't have much of a choice Speed: Not as fast as the newer models. A little slower that my 3 year old Vaio but this is one of the cheaper iMACs. Recommend if you get it on sale.

I have been a fan of Apple products for many years. I wanted something with a bigger screen for all the reading I am doing for Grad School. This was perfect, amazingly clear screen, easy to use right out of the box and synchronizes easily with all of my other Apple products.

This desktop replaced a ten year old dell. The dell gave up the ghost 3 years ago and have been using laptops and iPads since. Got the Mac at a good price and have been in love. So simple to use and no hangups at all. Used to be android and windows but now only Apple in my home. My wife says that if her job switched to Apple they would be so much more productive. She was on the Mac for 3 days straight. The ability to do her pictures and projects is worth the price. Best desktop we have ever had. Period

    Our Second iMac

We bought our first iMac earlier this year, so when the old PC with Vista finally bit the dust, we had to get another new computer. Yes, there are less expensive computers, but again, this one was so easy: open the box and plug it in. Extra space in the den now, as we don't have the clunky hard drive. No more worries about it overheating in the summer. No viruses.

It was rough going at first. I switched from Windows to Mac after 23 yrs. It was gorgeous to look at. But upon unpacking it, there was NO instructions whatsoever to turn it on, once finding the button, i then had to on my own learn that the keyboard takes batteries which when I located them were dead. I bought one yr. of Geek Squad but they when I called them were almost clueless, not to turn it on, but they could get the computer to FIND that i had a keyboard. A few more minor glinches but finally after 2 wks i find the Mac is very easy to use. Of course my card maker and my office software (my old software is windows and won't work on my Mac. I will have to buy new software and that's over $250. more and above the pricey new Mac Apple. Thus if one is not a tight budget, one can be very happy with their new computer. I even bought a Apple TV and together they are awesome.

I'd like to say I'm a computer savvy guy. I've setup and fixed many of my friend's and family's computers and networks. This one was by far the quickest and easiest to get started. We still had a free download of Microsoft Office that took less than 10 min to install. Using a mac was a new adventure. Honestly, the hardest part was learning the curve with the mouse (no right/left clicking). Changing settings like security were a breeze. Downloads are effortless. We got the smaller storage capacity since we have an external for everything like files, music, photos, etc. Got this mac on Black Friday sale online. Was delivered almost a week sooner than expected (and free shipping). Another plus is there is only one cord, the power cord, so we set up the home office in a better spot without a bunch of wires to deal with. If you're looking for an all-in-one for basic home, work, or school needs, I highly recommend this one.

Easy to setup and use. Price was great and found it wise to buy geek squad protection as a month into it we clicked onto a bad Facebook post That left a virus on the machine. Money well spent and quick turn a round by the geek squad on the repair( 1/2 day).

Great sound and picture quality, the look is streamlined and so nice to be rid of that tower. I wish it came with a manual though because an iMac is very different and I had to find someone to help me do the simplest things, like print. There is quite a learning curve but within a werk I was pretty comfortable with it.

I chose the Apple IMac after looking for a laptop to replace a windows laptop I had for over eight years. I have iPad and IPhone so wanted Apple laptop. the 21.5" iMac is better value when I don't need portability. Love the computer and it is very user friendly.

My last iMac I purchased was in 2007 so I'm glad I finally upgraded to the new model. The speed is better but still a little slower then I expected but it's the base model. It's not our main computer so it will work fine. The smaller keyboard takes time to get used to, and it doesn't have a 10 key so that would have to be a separate purchase if you work often with numbers.

I love it so far - it's pretty incredible all around, including the packaging. The screen is big & beautiful, keyboard would be better with a number pad, software is great, but takes a bit of getting used to after using Windows PCs for so many years.

I am used to a PC, so this was my first Mac, although I have an Ipad. Everything wireless is nice, graphics are great, and the sound is surprisingly good. My only complaint is that there is no disc drive, so there is no way to input a CD into my music library without using a disc driver elsewhere and converting to a flash drive. I'm sure a CD extension is available, but I would have expected a CD slot to be built into the computer. Otherwise very nice.

First of all you need to know I have owned various Apple computers since 1977 in one form or another. I needed a basic Macintosh computer for my personal use and the sale price on this unit fit the bill. With that said I must admit I was a bit disappointed at what Apple has done to make a Macintosh more affordable...no CD/DVD drive built in, a set size of Ram that cannot be upgraded, and an under-clocked I5 processor. Yes, for most uses the amount of Ram included and the clock speed in this unit along with the excellent iteration of OSX will keep going and out of trouble for a long time but it is still irksome. I have noticed an industry wide trend to get away from quad-core processors in desk top computers unless they use AMD to keep costs down but it is still a let down and not surprising that Apple plays the game the same way.

iMacs are the workhorse in my small business of 14 employees. They go and go, whereas PCs and even mini-Macs fail to perform at the level of performance we need. iMac forever.

So I was looking for a computer that wasn't going to be spend but yet worth the price. So the reduced screen size was fine for the almost $500 price drop. It was also Geek Squad certified used. Even more of a price drop.

First off, let me just say that I am an Apple-FanBoy. Have had multiple iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, but this is my first iMac. What drove me to look at the iMac was the simplicity of the setup. Everything is contained in the display/base unit. As usual with Apple products, set up is a breeze! Pull it out of the box, plug in the power cord, and you are up and running! What's not to like. The keyboard and mouse that come with the iMac have already been paired with the system, so you don't even have to do that. I used an external USB on my MacBook to back up the system with TimeMachine, so all I had to do was plug in the external USB drive to the iMac, and tell the OS that I wanted to restore from the USB drive, and my new computer looked just like my old one...only much faster.

I honestly was not sure about purchasing such a pricey computer but the features alone are what sold me! I have had Aplle products for some time now and I think that is what helped me and my wife buy this. The functionality is flawless, it's super fast and the size of the screen is a plus as well. There are some apps that I wish were on the App Store but that doesn't justify a less then stellar review here. If you can fit the price into your spending budget I would strongly suggest getting an IMac.

I don't want to get into too much technicality. I am stepping up from an Windows laptop, and the screen size and the configuration as is serve my daily perfectly. The bluetooth keyboard and mice make the system as clean as you want it to be on a desktop. System loading is fast, all apps work as advertise. If you do not use too heavy editing software and want to have simple settings, this is the starting iMac to get.
