Customers are saying
Customers are enthusiastic about the 21.5" iMac's ease of use, large screen size, and performance. Many appreciate its design and the benefits of the Fusion Drive, although some find the price high and wish for more RAM. A few also noted the lack of a CD drive. Overall, the positive feedback on usability and performance outweighs the concerns about cost and limited upgradability.

Not Impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After constantly borrowing my sister and boyfriends MacBook Pro's, I decided I should get my own computer, as my HP was a total nightmare. Their MacBooks were always quick, and I assumed this computer would be better, especially since it has 3.4GHz, and theirs was only 2. something. The sound on this is phenomenal, it has pretty loud bass for a computer. The 4k display didn't make a noticeable difference, and that's coming from a person who enjoys taking photos with a DSLR. I've been using my boyfriend's laptop for 2 years, and only saw the pinwheel a couple of times, same with my sisters. With this computer, I'm constantly getting it, even for a simple task like opening my photos or going back on a website. I talked to someone at the Apple store, and they told me that my computer is better than the MacBook Pro's I'd use, but that it's better for gaming, and my pinwheel problem could be due to my wifi. But the wifi isn't a problem for the laptops, just my iMac. The Apple employee said the laptops are faster, and also turn on/off faster, because of a different style of hard drive, or something. There is a spot for an SD card on the back of the iMac, and initially, I thought it was due to an old card that my computer wouldn't read it on the first try. I had to insert it and remove it a few times until it would read it. I have plenty of SD cards, and most of them wouldn't read on the first try. Overall, unless you're a gamer, don't fork over the extra cash for the higher 3.4GHz model. My usage of this computer is mostly for Netflix, Spotify, and occasional web browsing. I don't use it super often, and don't have much on it, yet it's soooo slow! Can't imagine how much slower it will be when it's old. Right from the get-go, I noticed it being laggy, but I needed it, as I was in college. The MacBook Pro's I'd borrow had more content on them and had many more programs running on them at the same time, and they handled it well. Also, apparently Apple doesn't just swap out faulty computers that are under a year old at their stores anymore. They now take your computer away and ship them off to be repaired, and then will be shipped back to you.

OK, but doesn't compare to the 27"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for home to compliment my 27" at the office. Really, really wish I had paid the extra and bought another 27". This is noticeably slower even though CPU has a higher rating.

Corrupted the data on my external backup drive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I plugged my backup drive into my IMac to move some data to my new computer using a USB. I did not eject the drive, just pulled the USB out, which I did on my Windows computer all the time. Now the drive is not readable by any computer, even my old windows computer. I called Apple and they confirmed that just pulling out the USB will do that. Now I may have to pay up to $250 to recover my data if it is even possible. You would think there would be a warning or something, before such a destructive action would be taken. I don’t think I will buy another Apple product until this gets changed. I am also disappointed in Apple Support’s response which was sympathic but no solution or reimbursement was offered.
