I know this desktop costs more than the usual windows one's, but the 5k display it is just amazing quality. The only "issues" that I would say its the fan that gets loud pretty often, but my theory is that since the display is thin and the display requires a lot of the system to produce all this quality makes hot. But overall I am very very satisfied.

I upgraded from a pic to this and WOW. NOT ONLY can I do all my projects for work, kids school and home but it being an apple product, our electronic devices, computer and security are all running simultaneously on the same software and I can access any info from any device at anytime. Great customer service too. Ended up purchasing 6 more!!!

If you are in the market for an iMac, this one is the best that you can buy. It's fast, but what I love of it is the screen resolution... It is alike to the 4K TV when you are watching movies or editing pictures or videos.

Beautiful design, excellent product. Runs smoothly, handles the biggest of projects without glitches. Perfect for anyone who wants more than just a desk top, it is a designers dream. Purchased the product for video and photo editing. Upload time is minimal, and so far no sluggish response when running large amounts of video.

The desk top Mac is a steal... Intuitive, powerful, reliable are just a few of the terms that accurately describe this phenomenal work of Engineering Art. This is a must have for any serious computer user and is a great addition to the home or office.

I'll start out by saying that this isn't my first Mac, having previously purchased a MacBook Pro, a MacBook Air and various iPhones and iPads over the years. The 27" iMac has an absolutely gorgeous display. It is very responsive, as have been my other Macs, and has been trouble free and was very easy to get set up and productive. So, while it does what I expected from my previous experiences with Apple, I was not prepared for how amazing the screen is. If you take the time to pull up some 5K photos (I use them for backgrounds), you can zoom in to see just how much detail there is. Great product!!! Note that the 5K display is only on the 27" at this time, but is supposed to also come out on the 21" in September 2015 - Wait for it, and you'll be glad that you did. Yes, a bit pricey, but I'm willing to pay for it when the product is this good.

This mac is a no brainer. It literally takes less than 15min to get it out if the box and setup. Works great with any wireless network and you can share files immediately with any apple device. The retina display is a MUST HAVE feature as well.

Was utterly blown away by the resolution of the monitor. It is very fast and loads programs in the flash of an eye thanks to the way the HDD is set up, it remembers frequently used programs and loads them into the SSD for faster performance.

I just purchased the iMac 5k base model. And all I can say is wow! Incredible image and very quick performance. My only negative is that Aplple need a much more comfortable mouse! Even though I love this iMac I will be returning it to Best Buy because they will not match the price of the Apple Store that is right across the street. They would rather have a n open box item instead of giving me the $180 difference!!!!! If they don't want to match pricing of Apple stores then they probably shou D stop carrying there products.

I've been a big apple fan the last several years. This is my 2nd Imac I have purchased. Display is amazing as well as the computer as a whole. Easy to setup and use. Would recommend to any friend looking for a good computer that will last

After more than 25 years of PC I made the switch and forever answered the question.....PC or Mac? Mac wins hands down. Everything from set up to everyday usage is smooth, fast, efficient, and intuitive. I easily migrated my Dell laptop to the Mac and even found a file I thought was missing forever.

The iMac's 5K Retina display puts it in a class of its own, though with a starting price twice that of rival machines, it's not for everybody. We mainly recommend it for photo and video enthusiasts, especially people who couldn't otherwise justify the cost of a Mac Pro and a standalone 4K monitor.

I moved away from Windows desktops and laptops a few years back and got my first MacBook Pro. That experience sold me on Apple's ability to create a far superior OS and hardware. I really wanted to try the new iMac with Retina display, so I took the plunge and have been very happy since. Anything from text to images looks absolutely stunning. I work a lot of hours and was starting to experience eye strain on my old external monitor. That's all gone away since using my new iMac. Also, I'm a developer/designer, so I run a ton of resource intensive applications. Whether I'm going In and out of sleep mode, switching between apps, performing heavy tasks, etc., my iMac never misses a beat and I yet to hear a fan kick on! Every Windows computer I ever owned (lots of them) failed in all these areas by comparison.

Being a long time Mac used I thought it time to up grade my computer and this high end iMac did the trick. Side by side performance next to my old iMac it just leaves the old guy in the dust. The picture quality is absolutely amazing.

My new iMac is so powerful and the screen resolution is so clear and easy on the eyes. It's even better than our tv screen. I enjoy working on it and viewing.videos and photos on it as well.

On the hardware aspect of the unit, it appears everything is solid, high quality and will definitely last for the years to come. I can do pretty much all of the basics I did with my Windows 7 desktop on this iMac, especially since the Microsoft Office version for mac is close in function. The retina display is great, with clear text for reading and colors are well-saturated and "clean looking". The realestate offered by the screen size is definitely different and there is a curve on getting used to it, but watching movies and working on a different application side by side is not a problem. A con so far is the inital price...it does break the bank and for a simple upgrade on RAM will set you back $500+. I did my own RAM upgrade for less than $200 and it was a simple process to do it yourself.

I have purchase this item a couple of weeks ago. It is great at the functions I need of it. I use it for photos, dj, and editing music. I will be upgrading the ram to 32gb since it only comes with 8gb. I havent had any problems with the unit. It is extremely fast, reliable, gorgeous view.

I needed to upgrade my aging 2011 MacMini and I figured why not update the display too. After reading some troubling reviews on Apple's site about fan noise I went into the Apple Store and none of theirs made any loud noises. I saw BestBuy has theirs for $100 off so I decided to purchase here. Great service and got a few other little things with it also like a sticker for my MacBook as a free gift. As for the computer it's Apple's high end so it's fast, big hard drive, and the display is amazing. I do thing you should look at it in the store and see you're actually using midrange resolution since if you actually put it in 5k it would probably give you a headache after longer usage periods. It's beautiful either way and I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

So I use this to edit my footage on my GoPro Hero 4 black 4k. The picture quality of this 5k resolution provides superb visuals. The desktop is by far número uno when compared to any others in its class. It's sexy yet provides all the computing power for audio and video editing.
