Customers praise the 27" iMac's large screen size and ease of use, frequently citing its excellent performance and sleek design as additional strengths. While some find the price high, the lack of a built-in DVD drive is another common point of feedback. Many appreciate the readily available RAM upgrades.

Made this purchase primarily to edit video/photos. I'm running both FCPX and Adobe's CC and its super-fast. I love the large screen and wireless keyboard/mouse. I've been a PC guy for a long time and I can't say that I'll be switching back anytime soon. An iMac is a bit pricey but once you're set up you're solid, I haven't had a single issue with mine. If you need a cheaper option and already have peripherals try a Mac Mini, they have one available with the same specs.

This iMac is just as great as my old iMac, but comes with a much bigger and better display screen. It has plenty of space to have multiple windows open without having them overlap and partially cover each other. For people who have a little trouble reading small print, this screen is the answer. And when it comes to working on your digital pictures, you can view a large group of images at the same time, making everything easier.
I also love that is is wireless for both talking to the Internet and the printer. One thing I do miss from my older iMac is that it does not have a built in DVD/CD disk drive.

This is my 3rd iMac and each time I upgrade I worry that there won't be enough difference, and each time I am not disappointed. This iMac is lightning fast, including load and shut down times. The screen is brilliant and the colors are very realistic. The unit is lighter than previous versions and there is much less glare on the screen that previous versions due to the new coating. The processor handles everything I throw at it without hesitation, including rendering HD movies, photo editing, along with the basic stuff too.
There are a couple things I recommend to make the computer even better. First is a numeric keypad or after-market full size BT keyboard. The Apple wireless keyboard is nice, but the fact that it is missing the numeric keypad is unacceptable and Apple does not sell their own BT version. The second thing is more RAM. Buy as much extra RAM as you can afford. It's cheap and easy to install.

This is my fourth Apple computer. My first was an Apple 2E back in the stone age (the mid 80's) and I've had 3 Imacs since then. My last Imac lasted for almost 8 years and the only reason I got this new one was because I could no longer update the software as the computer was too old. I love this computer. It is always user friendly, just like all the Apple products. At one time I did get a PC but got rid of it after only a year and went right back to my Imac. Try an Imac and you'll never go back to a PC again.

It was running within 5 minutes off taking it out of the box. I upgraded to Mavericks which was easy to do. I was not keen on the magic mouse at first, but the scrolling function of just dragging your finger over the top of the mouse, won me over. Right-click functionality is also good. The iMac does not have an internal CD/DVD drive, but I already had an external USB drive, so no big deal. The external drive is not an Apple product, but plugs right in and works just fine. Also, If you don't like the wireless mouse, just plug in a USB mouse. Works just fine and you don't need to load drivers. I did have to download some drivers for my Canon printer, but that I expected. In short, works great.

I primarily use my new iMac for music production and recording. When I first bought my MacBook Pro a few years ago, I didn't believe that iMac was a worthy enough computer to handle the work based on the specs.
Now that I have run down my MBP with a lot of processing power from my music software, I began looking for a computer with more processing power that could handle a heavy session. Although the new 15" MBP looked like it could've handled the work, this new iMac has better specs than the MBP and lives up to them.
I am very pleased with the speed of the computer, its processing power and its upgradeable RAM. If you're a person that needs processing power, plenty of upgradeable RAM, good graphics and a nice sized screen at a fair price that won't break your piggy bank; than this iMac is what you need.

Incredible graphics, the 27inch screen is amazing!! way over the top for a desktop computer!! Makes it fun to get work done every day, also extremely fast compared to my old (very expensive) computer. I was not an Apple believer but now I am! It only took a few days to learn the new language( new to me after being a Microsoft guy for 20 years)

This was purchased to upgrade one of our Windows users to Mac, using BootCamp and always active on the Windows side. Apple consistently delivers top-notch products. The price is much higher than PC, but we do not experience NEAR the amount of issues with Macs as we do with PCs. It is more than worth the extra investment.

Easy to setup right out of the box. I was literally up and running, surfing the internet in about 5-6 minutes. I've been a loyal PC Windows user for over a decade, despite my reservations about the Apple company in general and their closed Eco system, I must say I'm really impressed with their computers. The iMac and OSX operating system are so intuitive and pretty slick. I was able to transfer all my files, pictures, etc from my windows 7 machine fairly easily onto the iMac and so far so good. I have the 3.4 ghz 1tb HD with 8gb ram and it opens up my spread sheets, videos, music quickly. So far I've been editing family clips on iMovie and there is no lag whatsoever.
All in all, IMO the iMac is a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. If you are on the fence about switching just do it. You won't regret it.

This is the first Mac I have ever owned. I love it! The learning curve in switching from windows to mac is much less than I anticipated and the payout is great. There are a ton of resources available online to help anyone switch and learn to use their new mac. I love the huge screen and overall functionality. i HAVE NOT FOUND ANYHITNG I DONT LIKE YET!

I have never owned an iMac, but I got to say, I'm really impressed. It extremely smooth, the wireless keyboard & mouse is awesome, the screen size, although a tad bigger than I anticipated, is still really nice to look at. I use the computer mostly for business purposes, and the iMac so extremely usable for both business & pleasure. Two thumbs up!

Bought this iMac to replace a Mac mini we were using at my church for slides and video projection. It's so much faster so it works so much better. Ideal for ProPresenter (and PowerPoint and Keybote)
Also bought this particular iMac because we can add RAM later if we need to and since we expect to edit and produce videos in the future.

I've been a windows user forever other than iphones,Recently switched over to this 27" mac.The change over was a long process, especially trying to get 9k songs/music over here.Lost a few in the process but nothing I cant download again.Overall the different operating system is much better,no virus software to deal with. Easy to use after exploring for a while.I can say I'll probably never go back to windows,EVER...My only dislikes are the price and very sensitive mouse,Other than that this unit works perfect for me.You could easily get more for the price with windows but it would be hard to match the experience and also you could never find a windows unit comparable in this size..Lots of room saved and not half the wires needed.I use this as an everyday computer and it fits my needs perfect
