As a owner of two previous imac's I was anxious about getting a new imac. This current Mac has not disappointed me. Because of iCloud moving files and apps were no problem. I am planning to increase the ram which is very simple to do up to 64 gb. Very impressed with the performance.

I upgraded from a Mac Mini to iMac 27" .. much faster and the monitor's increased sharpness really pops. I had an Apple Thunderbolt Display on the Mini Mac and the difference is noticeable. Super easy setup.

I got this to edit my drone videos and do other usual tasks. My 4K drone footage edits smoothly with Final Cut Pro and the iMac usability is as always top notch. High recommended.

Love the new iMac. It's not the pro that is coming out at the end of the year but I decided to not wait for that as it's probably going to be more computing power than what I need anyway. This baby has got some speed and comes with 2TB. The colors are great and the 3.8 ghz really makes it fast. Love this machine and hope it lasts as long as my old iMac (8 years and still runnning).

Great computer, never thought I would move from a windows to Imac. I bought this computer to edit video with final cut pro X. Best decision I think I could have ever made.

What's not to love about an iMAC? This is my first one. Owned a couple MacBook Pros which are also great. I'm an iPhoneographer and iPad artist. For editing photos and artwork, this is the most gorgeous screen resolution and makes the job really easy. Sleek, everything is right inside the monitor. No cords except to plug it in. Lots of USB ports, easy to get to. Finally have my dream computer.

I waited a long while for this line to come out with Intel's new CPU's and it was worth the wait. Rendering 4K video is an absolute breeze compared to our previous model which was a 2013 iMac 2.7 Ghz w/ 2TB Fusion drive. On that note, DO NOT get a model with just a hard drive or even a 1TB Fusion drive. These computers absolutely should have at least 128GB SSD (which is in a 2TB Fusion drive). You will think you bought a slow computer if you make this mistake. This model is stunning, lightning fast, and an absolute joy to work on. I've already spent countless 16+ hour sessions on this thing. I use it for professional audio production, video, and graphics design. His is a computer for the pros and costs significantly less than its MacBook counterpart. 12" extra inches of screen space and even more power makes this desktop an easy choice over a MacBook if you don't need the portability.

Decent iMac, this one replaced a 7-year-old iMac that unexpectedly died. Boots up quickly, runs a bunch of memory-hungry apps (Photoshop, Word, FileMaker etc) simultaneously with no out-of-memory issues. Gigantic, crisp display and fine audio, too. Plus, Best Buy's price was right!

I switched from PC hardware to an IMAC. I have been using Windows and Linux in the past. There is a learning curve to go the the Apple operating system but well worth the time. I am finding it much easier to use. The included software is adequate for the home user, but you need a better word processor and spreadsheet program to do any serious work. The included keyboard had no numeric keypad which is a necessity for spreadsheet work and the included mouse had no right click capability. An absolute must to open multiple tabs in the web browser. The built in speakers are pretty good but if you like to play music with Bass response you will need an external speaker system. The display is excellent if you use your computer to watch videos. I use mine for that a lot. There is no optical disc provided. If you want to load software or watch movies from DVD or blu-ray you need an external drive. Overall an excellent piece of equipment, but needs add ons.

Is an iMac or PC Is A Better Deal?

If you switch from a PC to an iMac, you'll never go back. Eight years ago I was a novice Apple user. The only device I had was an iPod and I liked it, but didn't love it. My PC, which was a little over 2 years old was showing its age because there had been a couple of major upgrades in Windows operating system since I purchased it. I paid a small fortune for each of the upgrades and installed them as directed, but as any PC user knows, the OS upgrades never quite work as well -- even with a clean install. My original reason for considering an iMac instead of a PC was for seamless syncing with the iPod. I considered, the price (an iMac was almost twice as much as a PC) and limited applications for the iMac as big drawbacks to buying an iMac.. I also had an investment in several PC applications like Word, Excel, and Quicken that I thought I could not live without.. In the end, it was the sleek look of the iMac with no tower, a wireless keyboard and mouse, a 27" display and built in DVD player that sold me. I have never regretted that decision. I don't miss the blue window of illegal operation death, I don't miss paying a small fortune for updates to the operating system, and I don't even miss the software (much of which is available to run on the Apple OS). I now have an iMac, an iPad, an iPhone and an Apple watch, all of which work flawlessly with each other. I find I'm spending time doing things on the computer and not wasting time trying to get things to work. The best part is that it lasts years longer than a PC. I would have purchased at least 2 PC's in the eight years I had my iMac. I never felt that my computer was out of date in all that time. I would still be using it, but I started to have a problem with the internet connectivity, and decided to buy a new one instead of repairing the old one. I love the iMac and encourage all of my friends and relatives to buy Apple products..

I bought my Mac because my previous one died after 8 years. The trouble is always service and communication. It’s the worst. I have sent a month waiting and no one has called to say anything about my service issues. Terrible, if not the worst. If it wasn’t for decent prices, I would never purchase again

the Retina 5K screen not only is exceptionally clear; the size of the screen (27") allows much more flexibility in the size and number of open applications you can have. Great for those needing much larger screens to do fine pixel work with photo editing, or just increasing font size for easier reading. Color, brightness, size ... incredible upgrade to a viewing experience. (No more squinting!) Never enough ports but that's a minor quibble. Having USB-C connectivity means buying adapters and/or upgrading external components, but, again, that's a minor inconvenience. This computer is FAST. Graphics card means there's very little lag time and a lightning fast refresh rate.

I owned a 2011 iMac for over 6 years and I absolutely loved it. It did everything I ever needed to do with it and was very fast even after 6 years of use. I decided to get the 5K 27” 2TB and I’m truly in love with the display and speed. I’m sure I will enjoy this one for 6-7 years at least!
