Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the 27" iMac's large screen size and ease of use. Many appreciate its performance and elegant design, while some found the RAM upgradeable, a significant plus. However, the high price point and the performance of the Fusion Drive were common concerns.

This is a very good personal home computer. It has enough storage space to keep all the photos I have taken since 2002. It is as fast as my server will allow. It has more features than I will ever use. I use my computer for emails, reports, and research. I can save and retain a lot of my reports. I like the grammar check and spell check upgrades. The larger size is better for my older eyes. I replaced my older iMac of eleven years. For what I use it for, there is really no difference other than I am able to update all the new bells and whistles offered if I want.

This is my first Apple product. I have already noticed it is much faster and cleaner than my Windows computers as far as video and photo editing goes. The 5K Retina display is fully calibrated so I don't have to go through the trouble of calibrating the monitor to get true colors for photo editing. I am still getting used to using a Mac and there are a lot of things I like and there are some things that I liked better on my Windows computer but they're just basic shortcut issues. I only use this computer for photo and video editing so I can't give a comprehensive review comparing it to a Windows computer.

I had a birthday and wanted something great. I had a 23" I-Mac 8 years old that waste eventually to be updated. It ad lot of updates and was slow so traded it in early for the 27". All I can say this runs so fast, easy to set up and the new bigger stream is a joy.

I have used MACs since they released the first PC. Over the years, I've only experienced a hard disk failure which Apple fixed. The computing speeds have advanced faster than I found needed for what I do. So I've been buying MACs about three-five years as software changes forced me to advance. My old Macs (still working well) I gave to friends and family. Astonishingly, I've received only one failure report --- a power supply. My adult son repaired it with a kit some years ago, and it's been performing well since. The current computing speed of my newest Mac is really impressive and the hard drive (1 Gig plus SSD) seems instantaneous. The 27 inch monitor is a joy!

I have a wife and two daughters, 10 and 12. The iMac is a stunning edition to our family and gives my oldest daughter a place to draw and make music, and for my youngest to play Minecraft and get math tutoring. My wife and I use the computer for a wide variety of tasks and fun. Design is great, wireless accessories looks so clean. Just one cord coming off the table for the power, except when we have our Wacom tablet plugged in. Very sleek. Plenty fast enough for the average user and casual gamer. I've got the full Adobe CC suite running and working great, for example. We're spending more time together in the quiet hours of our days which is the most valuable part of this iMac. We put the computer at a simple desk in our living room, and it's really been great. …ryan

This Mac is a replacement for the Mac I bought in 2011. The screen is absolutely amazing. The picture is phenomenal. The speed is great and the computer can handle multiple talks at the same time.

Wow what a machine and well with the price. The Retina display is phenomenal. The service at the Best Buy store was also amazing they helped me pick the right device for me as I held off buying this for years. The processor is really fast as well. Easy installation pull out the box and plug it in. The software communicates with all other devices. If you are on the fence with the 21 or 27 inch go bigger!!

    Ugprade from MBP 2012

Good: Screen size is decent, processor is good, storage option much less expensive than soldered on, memory upgrade option Meh: Video is okay if all your going to be doing is simple editing, for this version 4GB is standard fair, considering how more spendy you get with 8GB, and since this was strictly budget, one has to work with those limitations. I think for the 2019 version iMac 27' is okay for what it is. Obviously, because of certain factors (Covid, short supply chain issues) really pushed (for me) a need to upgrade as I have a much older MBP. The downside I think is the need to buy new form factor Thunderbolt 3 cables which are ungodly spendy for what they are, along with storage options, thankfully I have some USB 3.0 stuff handy. I'm going to miss using Firewire 800. For me this makes the most sense as I've been using OSX/macOS for some time, so it made sense for me in the creative sense to stick with Apple. Thanks for reading.

My dad doesn't know much about computers, so this is great for him. It's great for light daily tasks. The spec is comparable to a $500ish pc, so you are mostly paying for the 5k panel. The reason why I didn't give it a 5-star rating is because of the fusion drive. Fusion drive is just a gimmicky marketing term to fool people who don't know much about computers. It's a 1TB mechanical drive with a 32GB flash cache, which is pretty laughable for 2019. A 256GB nvme SSD would be a better fit for this model.

First, the good. The display is incredible. The operating system in Mac just keeps getting better and better. It moves quite nicely, thank you, with the applications I use (Cubase, and large format photo editing). There's a good deal of connectivity (usb 3, usb-c, sdxc.... great keyboard and mouse... did i mention the wonderful display? The caveat: Fusion drive is just so so... the 1TB drive had a paltry 26 gig SSD... the rest is a rather poky drive i think it's 5400rpm. I notice the lag on large files. I dinged it one on 'value' because of the drive.

Took me some long, hard consideration before purchasing. Really is a very private world (as I anticipated). Goes in a totally new direction from other operating systems. Provided a new challenge in operating this machine. Quite beautiful I must say. Paired it with the mouse pad-really great operating with the pad oppose to the mouse. A little pricey, but loving it...

I purchased my 27” iMac because I will facilitate a lot of large group, on-line meetings for work going forward. It is perfect for that work. I can see almost 50 people at once with soft software. Same great ease of operation and reliability as my other Apple products. Love that I can just continue working seamlessly between the iMac and my MacBook using the iCloud - even on internet searches. Great purchase.

Love the large screen with the ability to view and work between several projects at once or one project with multiple sources for work. I purchased it for the graphics capabilities but it is so much more than that. Steep price tag but worth it for what I need it for. I just wish it had the DVD/CD slot like in the old versions. That's an easy fix with an external peripheral but that still qualifies as my only disappointment.

Fast reliable and easy to get around. Couldn’t ask for a better system for business or home use. Updates on on your terms or automatically. Tons of space for whatever you desire. The other brands may seem a better deal for short term but this things can give you years and tears of use with the updates that apple have in place, giving it the most desirable performance outcome. In short, it’s a great machine!

i do photoshop and vide editing and need a new mac. i got this one and for the price i got it at. it could be a little better. dont get me wrong. this thing goes fast and the screen is awesome. the 5k really does show. but it goes slow sometimes when editing my work i do with it for photo and video which is not good for the price but at the same time it is not that slow. i came from a 2011 mac pro so a little slow is better then a lot. but i have had no big issues with the computer as of let, just that it is a little bit over price for what you get. over all i like it a lot but i think you should get one with a ssd then a fusion drive but the fusion drive so far is working fine for me for now. overall, 8 out of 10 for me.

This was on my wishlist for such a long time. She’s so sleek looking! The display is ginormous, and honestly I love that if you need to have multiple windows open, or if you just prefer a larger display. My iMac has been a game changer for school related things. Highly recommend!!
