I have bought some cheap lightning cables that says Apple Certified, however, after 1-2 months, it doesn't work as well. You will need to fiddle around with the wires in order for it to charge and about 2 weeks of doing that, it stopped completely. I have bought about 5 of them and it all stop working in about 3 months. They were cheap about $2.50-$3.00 each wire however it'll stop working. So I decided to buy the Genuine Apple lightning cable and it still works today. I have bought this in October 2014 and still am using it today, July 2015. Haven't had any problem however it does cost more. I guess you get what you pay for.

I've too often tried to buy the cheaper lightning cables for my iphone and I constantly find them either breaking or simply not working in less than 6 months. The Apple brand cable is the only one that actually feels secure and capable of the wear and tear that it endures being a car charger. I've wasted more money buying the cheaper ones, I'd rather just spend a little more money up front and actually have something that will last me for years.

The Apple cable does the job but with regular use the cable will separate from the end piece. After repetitive movement the cable will show wear and eventually fail to maintain a connection and stop performing. Some other manufacturers make a more durable cable but the size of the lightning connector on many other brands is too large to use in some phone and IPad cases without taking off the cover (and who wants to do that?). I would recommend checking to see if other brands fit and will charge with your iPhone/iPad cover on and buy a brand like Griffin to save some $ and get better durability. Otherwise this cable is good for the time it lasts.

I have tried many different cords with my iPhone. It charges my phone faster. It is a bit pricey but I recommend purchasing Apple products because it last a little bit longer.

I thought of trying a cheaper different brand adapter and cable to replace the one I lost... but then I remembered I bought a non-Apple brand adapter and cable before and it just stopped working completely, so I decided to buy the Apple brand cable along with the adapter which I also bought at the same time. After several months since I bought these, both the adapter and cable are still working great!

Some things you just can't skimp on. OEM apple chargers are one of them. I bought many more expensive braided cloth type of cables that were apple certified but still failed. Bought this one because my cat ate my last one "bad kitty" But my last one lasted since ,y 5 all the way up to my 6s of course I packed away ,y box and can't find it so I just bought a new one

Having had many cables for iPhones, video games etc - these are ones worth buying the Apple brand. Yes sometimes they wear out (if you mistreat them), but I find they don't randomly stop working like some 3rd party brand stuff. I have lighting cables from when I got the iPhone 5 3 years ago, still working and in perfect condition. This was an extra one for my car.

I purchased this cable for my Granddaughters I phone 5. There were other non brand cables their that were cheaper, but I like to use the brand of the product owned. Of course the downside is that you pay the premium price.However I am old school and believe you get what you pay for. The cable works flawlessly and is well built. I believe it will last a long time.

So happy that I trusted the employees opinion and went with Apple brand charger , rather than the off brand charger. I have bought 5 off brand chargers in the last six months for my iPhone 6 and for one reason or another they stopped working. It was about $20 more in price, but I have not had any issues since! You definitely get what you pay for!

I bought the Apple® - 3.3' Lightning-to-USB 2.0 Cable from best buy because the price was reasonable. I bought several lightening cables from groupon that said they are apple certified however they really didn't work well with my phone & they didn't charge it well. From now on I will only buy it from best buy because they truly are apple certified.

After trying cables of all brands, lengths and prices, I’ve returned to only buying Apple brand. Others wear out, the end plugs connect initially but quickly fail to charge with some of our six household Apple devices. I’m sticking with Apple.

I bought a USB to lightning cable to go with my charging block that I bought and they are doing exactly what I expected them to do. I bought a 3 foot cord because I don't need a long one, but if you feel like a power outlet may be a little far, then I would go with the 6 footer. Either way this product works great for my iPad.

Although I dislike the fact that my iPhone will not charge with chargers that are not made by Apple, I do think that Apple products are better than other brands - even the chargers. They are heavier duty and last a long time and charge my phone in no time. Only downside is they are pricey.

I previously purchased a lightning cable form a different after market non Apple brand. It basically died on me in a year. Meanwhile the lightning cable that came with my Apple product still works fine. So I recommend buying the original Apple accessories or suffer the consequences of buying the same product twice!

Its an original apple product that will actually not break as did the other cheap one I bought. It is definitely worth the price to buy instead of having to replace every few months with imposters that say they will work with my iphone. Best Buy guarantees products if they break anyway so I trust buying things here.

My old cord went out and replaced for my IPhone 5. As it turned out it was the other piece that went out and not the cord so returned cord and got the piece that connects to the electric outlet......Even though I returned the cord it is an excellent product and will buy again should my old one go out.

Bought this cable to replace a generic one that didn't last. Learned the hard way that it is worth spending the extra money for an Apple cable. The cheaply made cable that we purchased a few months ago worked well for a few weeks and then had connection issues. This cable has given us no problems.

I have bought a lot of cheap cords for my iPhone 5 and 6. That stopped working after 2 weeks. I finally decided to stop buying the cheap 5 dollar knock offs and get the real thing. So I spent the 20 bucks and got it. Haven't been disappointed and has lasted. It also charges my phone faster I've noticed.

As we know the cheap ones break the Apple ones break. The only difference is whether it breaks in days/weeks vs months. I was tired of getting not a certified apple product and picking up another $5 cord every month. Went back to the Apple cord and am glad I don't have to stop and or order another cord monthly. Again, I know this one will do the same breakage at the phone end of the plug but am hoping to get a year for my $20.

My cat had chewed thru my Charging Cable that was plugged into my phone overnight. I then noticed that the cable was useless because it had shorted out. Thankfully it didn't mess up my Phone! I immediately went to Best Buy and they had exactly what I was looking for as usual.
