    It's almost the original

The is the NEW 45w Magsafe 2 adapter for MacBook Air. Save yourself a headache and make sure your MBA uses the Magsafe "2" and not the original Magsafe with the "L" connector that attaches to your laptop. This one has a wider connector and will not fit in Macbook Airs made prior to appx. June 2012 (not exactly sure when the change occured). At the time of this writing, no photo for this item was available on BestBuy.com and I did not realize they had changed the connectors and had to return this one because it simply would not fit my late 2011 MBA.

The condition in which I got the charger even despite it being an open box purchase. Awesome job on Best Buys part by supplying a fully functional open box charger to me. It's not a 5 though because I personally don't like these charger and I didn't know of any substitutes for it. I think they're too fragile for the price they are sold at. Again I don't blame this on Best Buy, the pricing and quality is mainly and probably only Apple's part. I would not recommend a friend to buy one of these if he has a for sure all around safe substitute for it.

Honestly, This item is over priced. Especially considering how fragile the material is that retains the copper wiring. I am not an engineer, but I work with several and they despise these made-to-break products. Fortunately, I don't have a choice in the type of product I buy because this is for a work computer and not a personal use computer. Otherwise the solution would be simple. Best Buy would do well to discount products despite their margin. Great way to retain customers.

While I love my Mac's, I have never thought the chargers were well designed. The thinner cable is far to easy to damage, and there is no great way to carry the thing around. I have tried the cable managers by quirky and such, but they don't make it that much easier. I have found that off-brand charger don't last as long, so I still stink with the apple specific ones.

I like Apple products, but I do wish they could make power supplies less cumbersome and easier to use. Getting it out of a computer case when I need it, seems to invite cable entanglement to the max everytime. Get creative Apple and not have this bulky wall wart end to pug into wall....I think technology can make it smaller and more refined....like your laptops.

I bought it as the traveling power adapter and leave the other one at home. It charges my MacBook Air very quickly. However, the cord extends directly straight out, so if anything slightly bumps to the connector, it comes right off. If it was made like the MacBook Pro adapter, you wouldn't have that problem. Because the connector comes straight out, it bends the cord which may damage it very quickly.

This will be my second replacement adapter for my MacBook Air and each of them have had the same issues. The casing on the wire frays and eventually it stops charging. I put electrical tape over the holes, but that only slows down the issue. Picked a new one up recently and it started to fray within a week. For the money I spent, I wish it held up a little better.

I purchased this to replace a previous 45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter. The adapter itself works great but the cable area that connects to the Macbook wears away after a year of use until the wires become exposed. I mark this as recommended since using 3rd party chargers has not worked out.

My son's MacBook Air adapter died. So, we had to buy a simple replacement that, from MOST other computer manufacturers, would be a $20-$30 cost. Not Apple though....plan to pay anywhere from $50-$100 more as a rule, for ANY of their hardware. But hey, it's a really GOOD-LOOKING and WELL-DESIGNED power adapter. #Sheesh

Let's face it power supplies are power supplies, but like all Apple products you cannot just get it anywhere or buy a universal. A lot of money spent to replace a power supply that was only 2 1/2 years old. I think Apple needs to reevaluate their prices for the products they make.

My computer came with a power cord and extension cord. I have never once used the extension cord. I needed another power cord for my office. I'm annoyed that I could not buy just the power cord. The package was very expensive and now I have not 1 but 2 very expensive extension cords that I do not expect to ever use.

It's frustrating to lose an adapter and learn that the replacement is going to cost you $80. It seems that by now Apple would have made such events more affordable given the mass production of devices. Huge profit margin and a double whammy for those of us who have accessories stolen.

Although I have never had one of these go bad, and they seem to last a really long time, I feel that they are excessively expensive for what they are. It's just a tiny little power adapter, it shouldn't cost $70. But its nice to have a spare to travel with - so you gotta pay the price.

A good charger, but a horrible value given the extremely high price. These fray WAY too often at the point where the cord goes into the block. It almost seems like Apple wants you to have to spend an extra $80 a year just so you can keep your (already expensive) Macbook powered up.

I had to replace my original power cord and Best Buy replaced it for free since I bought the protection plan. The original cord was much less bulky and cumbersome. I wish that Apple had continued using the original design. Other than that complaint the cord works, not much more to add.

This is just like the one that came with my Air book, could be better sales info at best buy, explaining the difference between like products, almost bought the power adapter for the larger MacBooks. not sure what could have happen to my air book if used the wrong adapter.

I think Apple accessories are made to break after a year. This is my second power cord since I purchased my MacAir. Ugh . Apple accessories are too expensive, but are you going to do. If Mac Air had credible alternative options I would definitely buy..

This is a really cool product. It has a nice variation of colors that you can change very easy, just pushing a button. The only thing I didn't like much was the sound quality, but as I don't use it too much for listening music, this product works fine for me.

I bought this charger as a safety net after my daughter came home from college one weekend with her laptop but not her charger. It hasn't been taken out of the package yet and may never come out which is why I think it may be returned before the end of the month.

Their product is expensive. This is my 2nd charger in 4 years. If only another company could make this charger for less money and a better wire protector on it, that would make me happy.
