    I know it is frustrating that when Apple upgrades a product you almost always have to buy new accessories. But this was a smart idea. The charge cable is separate from the power adapter. With my previous MacBook Pro the cable was attached to the power adapter. When you wrap it up the cable bends and eventually ruins the cable. Now I can separate the cable from the power adapter and just wrap it up like a phone charger.

    iPhones should be shipping with these cables now. They are much more durable, compatible with 2016/2017 MacBooks and support the fast charging if you have the correct power brick. The biggest drawback is the cost of all the power bricks as fast charging ones can cost up tp $50 if OEM.

    My child accidentally rolled her chair caster over her power supply wire putting a nasty pinch in it. Fortunately the wire on the Mac power supply can be removed and replaced or I would've need a whole new power supply. This wire did the trick.

    Purchased this for my type C android phone. It has worked as well as the original cable that came with my phone. Durability is the issue I have with most cables, so I hope this one keeps working well. This was the longest type C cord carried at my local store, otherwise I would have gone with a braided cord for durability. Would recommend, and will update with a comment if cord wears out too quickly.

    Nothing like the original. I purchased a cheaper USB-C to USB-C option from Amazon and although it worked in the beginning, it didn't last more than 2 months before it broke and could only charge if the cable was held in a specific way. I have had no issues with the Apple cable and although it is pricier than the other options, I have much more confidence that this will last me longer and be replaced way less frequently if at all.

    The new USB-C charging cable works just fine. It has a certain soft texture to it that makes it nice to handle and it is the perfect length. I really do miss the MagSafe charging cables, though. This cable, along with the power bank, seem to charge my MacBook very quickly. No real complaints.
