Love this item charger. I had to get a replacement and this was the best one charges fast!!!

I needed a second AC adapter for my work laptop, a new model Macbook Pro, so that I could keep it in my bag, and use the original one at my desk without having to unplug it to travel. This product is absolutely identical to the one that comes with the laptop. That's good and what I expected, which is why it gets 5 starts. The actual wall wart, though is a ridiculous design that takes up something like 2-3 slots on a typical power strip. Fortunately, Apple also includes an extension plug that neatly replaces the original and brings the profile down to something like a vacuum cleaner plug. Much better. Also, with the extension plug, the adapter has a very generous length, which is great in conference rooms and such.

So expensive but it's an official apple product. works perfectly. doesn't get hot.

Works with most MacBook Pro and Retinas after they moved to the new power connector size. May allow flexibility if one owned less power requiring MacBook Pros than the 85w charger. It will work both with smaller power needed to the largest power needed laptops if connector fits. Check Google searches for Apple website compatibility requirements. This charger does not overheat like many past chargers did on laptops. We had many burned cords in past and this one lasted from 2012 until 2018 where wear actually got it before it overheated as in easier models.

Apple 85W MagSafe 2 power adapter for MacBook pro with retina display is an awesome and very efficient adapter. It is an unwritten fact that not all power adapters are the same because there are those are superior to others and fortunately this is one of the best adapters out there. The adapter goes for $79.00. This is an incredible price bearing in mind that the power adapter works as advertised. It is admittedly pricier than generic adapters but that shouldn’t make you shy away from making a purchase because you can be assured that the adapter will work. This is in contrast to the generics since you can never be sure whether or not they will work. Our house is not all spacious and this magnetic adapter’s DC connector ensures that my netbook is in place should someone trip on it and also weakening and fraying of the adapter will not be as serious/critical compared to a normal corded adapter. This is a worthy replacement adapter. Cords will fray more easily and quickly compared to this one. Cords can only handle so much and they will wear and tear at the slightest sign of pressure. This is a handy traveling buddy that is also compact. It is a no brainer that an orange light indicates charging and green indicates full charge. You don’t even need a manual to operate the adapter because everything about is pretty straightforward and I don’t foresee anyone getting frustrated because they can’t seem to correctly use the adapter. There is an AC cord if you need a longer cord. If this is not value for money then I don’t know what is. I believe I would buy this same adapter if the need for the same ever arose since I have already derived value for my money. I can’t talk about its durability but I know for sure that it won’t last forever. This is a given with all adapters eventually. The only difference between this adapter and the corded adapters is that the corded adapters wear off quickly compared to this one. It is a genuine product. Need I say more? Apple is a working horse in the computers stable and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this adapter works as advertised. I don’t have a problem recommending this adapter to anyone looking for an affordable and quality adapter for their MacBook pro. Highly recommended!

Didn’t think they would have this since my laptop is a mid-2015! Received the product in excellent condition, and the product itself is still holding strong. I would just caution against using this while using what is being charged - it can get hot

My old MacBook Air wouldn’t charge. Cleaned the port flipped it around till it started to charge. One day it wouldn’t charge no matter what. I figured last try I’ll buy a new charger. I was thinking it was the laptop side that was the problem. Plugged it in Worked great and faster

When my older Mac Book charger stopped working I was worried I was going to have to junk it or hope I would find a used charger some where. I called Best Buy and they said they thought this one would work. I had to use curbside because of Covid and they were so helpful. I pulled up showed them my old charger and they confirmed this would work. Very happy I was able to get this so easily.

My other one died (many many years with kids/dogs abusing the cord) and I bought this to replace it. It does everything as intended and works very well. I watched to see if it ever went on sale but never did. It costs more than the 3rd party ones but I trust Apple products more.

This is a great charger what more to say. I bought this as a backup so that I do not have to keep carrying mine back and forth along with my laptop. It rapidly charges my laptop and it doesn't take up that much bulk it's not huge like some other chargers are on PCS. I would recommend this to anyone. The only issue is after months of use the wire might get a little dingy if you don't have super clean hands all the time.

Needed replacement charger for MacBook Air and this did just the trick. Already had the extender so this was the base I needed. Still works 11-20-25

This is the real deal - other cheap one work but they run hot and can burn you at the plug sight! This is the one that works on your old laptops! Plus the ability to buy it online and have it brought out to your car is awesome!

I recently bought a second 85 Watt Mag Safe 2 power adapter for my MacBook Pro. The first one has been put through the ringer, but true to all of my Apple accessories that I have purchased thus far, my first adapter still performs flawlessly. I bought a second adapter because I am constantly leaving my first adapter at work and am constantly having to go back to pick it up after already being home and in for the night, Borrowing my wife's doesn't work, because then she can't do her school work. As a student in Grad school, time is of the essence and a second adapter has been a wonderful thing for a fast-moving multi-tasker, such as myself. I use one at home and just keep one in my computer carrying case so I won't have to worry about taking it with me every morning.

Good charger, charges super fast and smooth it made my life easier and i love this charger and would 100% recommend u buying it

Hey, it is what it is. As long as you don't mangle the cable in the recliner legs, you should be good! Does get warm when charging, once it gets to 100%, I believe it goes into a trickle mode. I wouldn't stick a blanket on it! Bought them at BBuy because they had them on hand and needed them quick!

Needed an extra charger for my Macbook Pro 13 for outside use, but for some reason I couldn't find the 60w version that comes with the MB13s, so after some research I learned that the 80w works with no issue. Nothing to nitpick at really, it's a charger and it charges. It is slightly bigger than the 60w version, so I keep this one at home and carry around the smaller 60w charger in my bag.

The charger we had didn’t used to charge the laptop as fast as this one does

This is definitely the best way to go when you are looking for a new charger for your MacBook. Avoid the cheap aftermarket copies you find online, they will never last as long as this one, they get very hot, and can potentially fry you motherboard. All charger will eventually break after a few years, but this one will offer you the best and longest performance.
