Cord has planned faliure
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The only reason I needed a new cord (my THIRD in 4 years) is because Apple makes them so delicate at the connecting edge, they repeatedly fray and then fail. They are proprietary (imitations exist but are not recommended nor reliable) and therefore no choice but to shell out 90 dollars every time. None of this is Best Buy's fault, and the purchase went well.

Good, quality charger for MacBook Pro

This is my second one within five years, so, as long as proper care is taken, it should last. That said, the cable itself is prone to fraying at points where the cable bends. After a year or so of use, it can begin to split and eventually become unsuitable for us.
