I’ll be honest i REALLY wanted these to work...I am a runner and the thought of no cords was exceptional. However they fell short for several reasons that I can’t forgive: Pros: Obviously the wireless piece steals the show and the familiar design of the old EarPods is familiar and fit perfectly in the ear like a glove...The wireless charging case is also a great idea and works well. The iPhone recognizes and syncs to them very quickly and is seamless (when it actually works) Cons: A wire to at least connect the individual buds together for me makes sense but isn’t a deal breaker. If one falls out during activity the chances of it being saved are Much higher if connected to the other one. The chances of losing one are much less also....However the major fail is in the user interface #1 to make the AirPods do anything you have to tap and double tap them etc and actually “speak” commands...This was VERY CLUMSY as an understatement first of all the tapping is inconsistent and secondly who wants to stop running lifting or whatever your doing and try to perfectly tap one ear pod to announce commands to Siri? GIANT FAIL....(while running double tap a tiny AirPod in the right spot just to say “next song”, “pause” or announce a command etc?) totally impractical and absolute deal breaker....additionally if you try to adjust the AirPod in your ear while using them you can basically count on Siri asking you what you’d like to do even though your Just were maneuvering them...I also found that wearing a hoodie, headband etc created problems as well as any form fitting silicon adapter anyone puts on them....they interfere with usability. A wire that connected them together but did not need to be connected to the phone would solve a lot of those things by having a pause/stop/advance etc option....otherwise Apple needs to integrate some type of button etc onto the AirPods themselves ....the concept of these is good but it just doesn’t deliver...too clumsy and not the sleek apple interface we are used to. Lastly, and perhaps the most alarming I had these connected to iPhone/Apple Watch/iPad via blue tooth ALL within the same week... 3-4 Xs a week and 2-3Xs a day during the same week they disconnected from device while using them....what do you do when you’re in the middle of a workout, run or activity and your AirPods disconnect....(most often one AirPod and then a few minutes the other?)...ANSWER: get furious and annoyed. To me this AirPod set is in beta and needs to be significantly improved upon before I even consider touching them again!!!!

I have had my AirPods for 8 months now and I don't use them that often. I bought them to make sure I would have wireless headphones for 4-5 hours on a charge when it mattered. Seriously, I use them maybe twice every month. At first, they lasted about 3 hours on a full charge listening to Spotify. Charging them again took about 30 mins. So much less than what Apple sells them on. Now 8 months in, I am returning them because this is absolutely crazy. So much money for "high quality" that today takes 40-50 mins to fully charge (not so quick) - and on a 100% charge - TODAY - I talked on the phone, no music, for 1 hour and 10 mins and then it gave up!!!!! I have always used Apple but they have really lost their game. Expensive systems that look pretty but doesn't last at all. Two friends had the exact same experience and both switched to JBL and they last 7-8 hours on a charge and they are a bit cheaper. They still last 6-7 hours almost TWO YEARS IN. So don't waste your money on the AirPods. They look pretty but they are not practical at all or worth the high price tag.

After a year long wait for availability, I finally purchased a pair of AirPods. I was inspired after watching the Apple Event on 9/13/17 announcing the new iPhone 8 and X, as well as Series 3 Apple Watch. I currently own an iPhone 7 and I paired the AirPods easily. Unfortunately, the sound quality is poor. It's very boomy. The ergonomics are poor, and my ear lobes began to ache after about five minutes. There are no volume controls on the AirPods. You must use the iPhone or Siri to adjust volume. I own a pair of LG wireless earbuds that sound better at less than half the price. I've also used Beats air buds and Bose brands and both of them sounded much cleaner. This product was promised in September 2016 and never went to market until months later. I can see why. I can imagine the engineers saying to the execs "this is the best we can do". But it's not good enough. Perhaps the worst product made by Apple. And that's coming from an avid Apple product user like me. Shop around and you'll see what I mean. Suggestions for next generation: More volume, volume control on the AirPods, better ergonomics and with soft silicone tips, and cleaner sound. Do something about the appearance. They look like cigarette butts sticking out of my ears.

I am an Apple guy but these are a huge disappointment! I mean if you work for Apple and all you do is sit in an office and write lines of code they would be ok. But for the real world they are a huge disappointment. They are hardly louder then the gym music. Not to mention they fall out at least once every time I am at the gym. And if you are blue collar they are worthless. You cant wear them when mowing. The mower is louder. So are all the saws and other power tools. Not to mention they loosen up as you work so they don’t even work well as sound deadeners. I had J Lab epic airs before these. They were much better in every way. I wanted to love these but to be honest they are a huge disappointment especially at the price point. Plus they have trouble syncing in anyplace but directly in front of you. Front pocket forget it they will cut out! Waist of money!

I read a review that claimed with Android "... the experience was superb... I have yet to experience a lost connection. Even better, I've found them to be far more trustworthy over long distances than most other Bluetooth headphones... no skips. Your mileage may vary, but these are the most problem-free Bluetooth headphones I've used to date..." This is totally contrary to my experience. If I was indoors and mostly stationary, they were lovely. Walking to and from work, they were terrible. The earbuds would get out of sync and quickly cut out. But the Bluetooth connection to my phone would still be intact, music still playing. Disconnecting and reconnecting seemed to make them better for a minute, then they're pseudo-disconnect again. This seemed to happen more frequently in urban areas, but not exclusively. I thought maybe I had defective hardware, but I returned them and got a replacement set. The second ones were worse. :/

Took a chance and spent the money on these headphones thinking it may last longer or be more convenient to use. In the first 3 weeks worked very well, then encountered a problem with my right side headphone draining down to 10% overnight while left in the case. Case was 80% charged. Ignored it at first then started happening more often in the 4th week so called apple support. First guy said product new and wanted to get back to me in 2 days but never did. While waiting problem continued unless I left case on charger overnight. Called apple again and girl told me she would send out a repair box so I could ship ear pods back for warranty service. Never got box, but in the meantime started having issue with only one headphone pairing and not 2, also display to show charge level did not always show up on screen. Called apple again and spoke to third person who said they cannot take back ear pods by mail and need to go to apple store for service. Said If I had apple care then they could have sent replacement. Had product for 5 weeks now and regret not returning when problem first appeared.

Just returned my Airpods after having them about a week. Had countless disconnects, issues connecting, one ear dropping out, microphone not working on calls, and it plain refused to work with multiple Windows devices (when other Bluetooth speakers/headphones had no issues with them). Now this could be a combination of compatibility issues, one of the numerous issues with iOS11 I've been experiencing, or just a bunk unit. However, the experience was downright awful. I wanted them to work, but despite my best efforts they refused to. Sure I could have done an exchange to get a another set if they were bunk, ironed out the compatibility issues, or even waited until patches made iOS 11 less of a clusterf**k on the 6s. However, I paid a decent amount of money to get the Apple product so as to not have to do that. Of all the Apple products I have owned, my Airpod experience was by far the worst I've ever had to deal with. I hope some decent competing products come out but unfortunately Airpods are still the best that are available at the moment :/

    Mediocre sound, lack of controls

I wanted a pair of wireless earbuds to wear at work, so I picked these up. I was very dissapointed with the lack of features these have. Most notabley, the lack of a single tap function. While every single bluetooth audio device in the world opperates the same way, ie single tap to pauese/play, double tap to fast forword etc.. These only give you two option (one per ear) and by double tapping only. This is very frustrating, because the double tap barely works properly. The airpods are also very uncomfortable for me. They don’t seem to stay in my ear all the way, so I don’t get a good audio experiance. Plus, they seem to fall out of my ears quite often. For the sound quality, functions and comfort, the airpods are way overpriced. There is not much that I like about these buds, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

I purchased this product and was initially really excited about them. I was excited until the product wouldn't connect so I could talk on the phone using them. Ironically, they always connected so that I could listen to music. I didn't buy them to only listen to music. I don't know why the air pods wouldn't connect to talk. I thought I had gotten a faulty pair. So I took them back and exchanged them, but the new pair did the same thing. I called Apple and they said they had never gotten a call from a customer regarding the air pods (I called on two separate occasions about both pair, and both representatives said the same thing.) However, when I looked on Google and read the reviews, there were many customers who were having the same connectivity issue. I had two pairs of air pods in ten days. I eventually took them back and got the wired ones that come with the phone and have been satisfied with those.

I had been on the search for a good wireless headphone and came across these. I decided to take a shot and try them and I am so disappointed. People have written reviews stating that the Bluetooth connectivity is amazing, but just walking into the next room away from my phone I lost connection. Then while talking on the phone the person on the other end of the call said they'd hear me cut in and out, meanwhile, the phone was in my hand. On top of this, the earbuds would slip out of my ear. Now, I know that everyone's ear canals are different, but Apple then should have included sized ear attachments to accommodate those people who have issues with the fit. The sound wasn't the greatest, so if you love your deep bass do not buy these. I just bought these last night, and plan on returning them.

All the hype, all the reviews 22,000 and still at 4.8 stars. These things are bad. Two days of use and trying to get them to fit properly and stay in, even with the ear tip accessory kit they just suck, can’t charge with the tips and they’re a pain to get back on. Only way they sound remotely good is if you hold them in your ear canal the entire time you’re listing to something. Otherwise you lose all sound stage to leakage with zero low end. I guess those that have tiny ears these probably work good. But there’s a reason they sell accessory tips for the fit. Returning today. Bought the Jabra Active Elite 65T and those are in another league compared to these. Only thing good about the AirPods is the W1 chip and their connection to iDevices.

Comfort is good but that’s the end of what I like on this headphone. It cannot compete with many headphones out there with better sound quality and lower price. I was willing to give it a try hoping I would like them with time but It keeps getting worse the longer I have them—I know that is subjective but many will agree with me that the hanging stick looks terrible. I buy headphones because of sound quality, comfort and appearance. The sound is not what I expect and it looks bad. Only plus I have is the comfort but I don’t by headphones just to have something in my ears.

I home office and travel for work, so I was excited to try a truly wireless pair of earbuds. I was thrilled that I finally (and randomly) found them online as the inventory has been scarce at best. When they showed up a couple of days later they worked as expected. Very easy pairing to my iPhone 7 thanks to the W1 chip. However, three days later the left AirPod stopped working altogether and was completely dead. What?! Three days of light usage and they never even got the chance to travel anywhere with me. I was extremely disappointed to say the least and returned them. I haven't read about anyone else having this issue so I think I just got a bum pair. I'd love to give them a second chance but I can't find them anywhere.

Im a truck driver and decided to spend more money on these because they were wireless. First off, they always fell out of my ear so i bought the accessories that keep them in your ear. Then I found out they lost there charge after about 8-10 hrs so I would have to take all the accessories off of them to put them back in the charging case then when im driving and get a call, I’d have to dig in my pocket, pull out the charger, pull out the right ear pod and hold it in my ear. While holding it i would tap it or something and drop the call. Im mad thinking of this again. Not recommended!!

I purchased the Airpods a bit longer than a year ago and had issues w/ synchronization all the time and had frequently to reset the Airpods. Also I had frequently to use the case and one of the Airpods always had issues. Now (a few days after the guarantee ended) they completely broke up. The Airpods are not longer connecting to my iPhone. After an appointment at the Genius Bar, they recommended to purchase an new pair, because the repair would cost me $147!!! This is crazy and absolutely unacceptable - I am really done with this.

I love all of my Apple products except this one. They were very painful and hurt my ears. I couldn’t wear them any longer than 10 minutes. I tried adjusting and repositioning them. NO Luck. My question is why doesn’t Apple make the pods different sizes? I can wear the ones with the wire attached all day. I noticed they are not the same size. This slight variation is what caused my pain. The pods also caused headaches as well as earaches. I inquired about them and a few more people said they had to return them because they wouldn’t stay in and they were uncomfortable. I RETURNED MINE. Not worth the price and pain.

    Left ear pod quit working

After approx. three weeks the left ear pod quit working and had to disconnect from phone and reconnect and it would work for about 5-10 minutes and go out. Best Buy would not return them because it was just outside their return window. I was told to go to an Apple store which is over 2 hours away to get it fixed or swapped out. If I purchase anymore Apple products I will purchase direct from Apple because of the return policy. If buying anything from Best Buy make sure you are aware of their return policy and poor customer service. If I want this type of customer service I will just purchase online.

I wanted to use these for both my iPhone and iPad at the same time. But in order to do so I had to manually go to Bluetooth option on each device to use it. Granted, both stayed paired, but if I was watching a video on iPad and phone call came in, it didn't automatically switch to phone. I had to go into Bluetooth settings on phone. After finished with call I had to them go back into Bluetooth settings in iPad to resume sound through airpods. I also didn't find them to be very comfortable in my ears. Too bad, the sound was good and they're very sleek looking.

I bought these mostly to use for conference calls. They got high ratings for overall quality; and having an iPhone I figured I would give them a shot. They constantly drop the Bluetooth connection, and they also get about one hours worth of battery life when I am on a call. I tried calling Apple tech support to see if I could get a replacement - and they blamed everything from my wireless router causing interference, to my wireless charging pad! Terrible service from alll!

So I returned the Bose Earpods for the Apple Airpods. The airpods were nice when they worked. I really wished they could last a little long for charge time and also have the ability to control volume. I'm really more upset that an airpod stopped working and then I am still working to align my schedule with an Apple Tech to get it replaced. With my schedule and how much I paid, these should be an easy walk in and replace. Also apple care would be nice for security as well after my first year because I just bought these a month ago. In the meantime I have a pretty paperweight.
