Configure one time via software, use indefinitely
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Airport Express is one awesome piece of equipment. The range is wider than any router I have used. I own many different ones with default firmware and ones where I hacked it with DD-WRT loaded into it, but none has ever come close to what this little thing can do in my house even with upping up the juice. This white hockey puck doesn't even need long antennae's protruding from its back. Out of box, it just broadcasts north, south, east, west, up, down, left, right, whatever have you. I placed this unit next to my window and I can reach as far as the neighbor across the street in line of sight. And that is far. What I have trouble with are blind spots in the house due to thick walls and floors. No worries. I set up another Airport Express with same SSID, and its own ethernet plugged in to act as its own little broadcast station instead of access point. I pretty much have full bars anywhere I walk in the house and out. If they crash, hang, and reset, I never noticed nor looked into the logs. Definitely recommended if you're tired of routers not working out for you especially with DD-WRT ready units not playing nicely.

great for big home but still pricey for range
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is great so long as You have a mac product that isnt too old and you have money to buy the main airport extreme which is 200 to go with the 100. I remember when the internet router cost 50 and worked great. This has a little longer range and it works to secure a network through out the whole house again on the condition that you buy more of these devices. Also the app is great to reset or check the status but requires a mac product to work. Overall good product but too pricy and promises a lot more hype than delivered. Its range isnt double the linksys n boxes but work better.

Great for extending range of existing Extreme
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This express base station is extremely helpful. My home is extremely large and there isn't a place where i could put my extreme to cover the whole home. I set up the extreme on the end of the whole where we all spend the most time and added this express station on the other side of the home. Works great and i have full wifi throughout. my devices transition between stations without any interruptions.

Excellent networking device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product! If you have a small area it can be a full blown dual band router even including a guest network. What I use it for though, and what I find is one of it’s best features, is it’s wireless bridging feature. Our game consoles are weak with their wireless reception and don’t even use the 5GHz band. But this genius device will wirelessly bridge your network to far reaches of your space and you can connect to a switch or directly to your wireless client by ethernet. I have an older generation Apple Express and I still use it for that today. Best part is that it’s simple. If you have an updated Apple iOS device it’s even easier to set this up as you require. Sure. There are other wireless bridges out there; but when you buy this one with your hard earned money you know that Apple will come through for you and it will just work. Seamlessly. Easily. Intuitively. If you’re not sure which one to get. Choose this one.

perfect for 4 girls in an apartment with apple
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, this has been the fastest WiFi I've had in my life. I am a college student living in an apartment with 3 other girls. None of us are technologically savvy, and this WiFi was extremely easy for us to set up. We also all have iPhones and Mac computers and none of us have had a single problem with this WiFi so far!

Best WiFi Extender on the market
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn’t expecting this to work exceptionally well due to the distance from my WiFi router to this base station’s location in my garage but it exceeded my expectations.

Best way to expand range
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Airport products are by far the easiest to set up. Now using an Airport Extreme in combination with an Express, I have coverage all over the house.

Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We use it in an all Apple office (Macs and iPads) and it works seamlessly and is blazing fast. Setup is very easy. We set it up from our iPhone in just a few minutes. And it has the ability to have a secure host network and unsecured guest network for client use in the waiting room, which didm't seem to be a common feature for modems in this price range. All in all, we're extremely happy with it.

Does Just What I Needed - Flawlessly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to extend the range of my Time Capsule WiFi networks, so I got the Airport Express to do just that. I was lucky enough to be able to run Ethernet thru my attic to the far end if my house (where I needed the WiFi extension the most), but I did do the wireless extension setup at first to compare (just for fun). Both are easy setups via the iOS app or Mac utility; however, switching betwixt the wired / wireless setups requires a physical "reset" (ie no software option) and - in true Apple minimalism fashion - the reset button is not labeled and barely noticeable.

Signal is sure stronger than my older TC model!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a wider coverage than my previous 2T Time Capsule, so I took a (low) risk and tried the newer 2T model and it definitely reaches out further (resulting in better speed thanks to lower noise). Beware that if you also add a wireless extender to this, you cut your speed in half due to the multiplexing overhead. But if you hardwire the extender (on a Cat line), you keep the higher speed. Virtually zero setup. Just plug and play! Amazing how easy it's gotten since the days of admin'ing the router parms!
