Came into store and intended to purchase a different brand. The sales rep suggested this one given the size of the area I was looking to drive a signal. He was right! Even in the remote corner of the home the signal is strong. Speed and capacity have been great as well! Set up was almost too easy. 2 months since purchase and very pleased.

Just replaced an older Linksys unit with this one. Great product. Easy setup, great performance, good wi-fi coverage and range, couldn't be happier with my purchase.

This is an excellent Router in true Apple form. Great range and very easy to set up especially if you are a Mac user. The IOS companion App is also a welcome addition.

I wasted my money on the linksys WRT1200, but it kept losing connection. AirPort Extreme is super fast, has outstanding range, and stays connected. Love this item!!

No other router I have used will compare to the range and reliability of the Apple ones. Well worth the $200 they cost.

I have a lot of experience with multiple wireless router brands but after I went to apple I could never use anything else. For the average home user, you could not get any simpler. Just plug it in, connect to the router with your phone or computer, and follow the simple step by step instructions. This router would not be ideal for more advanced situations though and if defiantly tailored for homes or small office situations and advanced options like QoS are missing from the software.

Easy installation right out of the box, no complicated steps. Beautifully crafted, looks great on my entertainment center. Works like a champ, but its an Apple product.

I have had the previous version of this router for at least 8 years and has worked flawlessly. This new one works even better. The range and speed is incredible and I was able to use my old router in my garage for even more range. Apple has a simple setting that can change any router into a repeater. Great products with great reliability and simple setup. Great Job Apple.

For years, I maintained a Netgear/Belkin/D-Link wireless network in my home. I always had the latest, greatest, strongest wifi router available and used range extenders as well. But, no matter how much money I spent on the newest gear, I ALWAYS had problems that required a restart of the entire network, re-entering passwords, etc. I have always been a PC guy, and like most PC guys, I turned my nose up at Apple products. No more. I bought the Apple Airport Extreme Base Station and three Airport Express's because I wanted to make sure my signal would reach out to my shop, to the end of my driveways, up in my attic--wherever I wanted a signal. I spent a good chunk of change on these items, but they have proven worth the money from the moment I transitioned out of the conventional wifi network gear. I have not had a single incident, have not had to restart, and I have only the Base Station hooked up! My old gear is sitting in a box ready to be donated and I will never look back. Additionally, the entire network is controllable from my iPhone; can't do that with a PC network

For ease of installation, device recognition, signal strength and esthetics you can't go wrong with the Airport Extreme.

No-brainer for a Mac user. Set up was intuitive. No glitches. It simply worked right out of the box. It has a much larger and robust range than previous versions.

I love this unit. Perfect for Mac users get maximum speed with no special configuration. It even auto configures if you already have an older apple wireless network.

The Apple AirPort Extreme base station is the perfect WiFi companion for a home filled with Apple products (or anyone for that matter). The setup is an absolute dream... Just plug in the router, open the AirPort utility on iPhone or Mac, and it will walk you through the steps. The AC WiFi is stupid fast for intra-network data transfers. Also you are able to connect an external hard drive to the router itself and use it as a network storage drive (or use with Time Machine to backup your Mac's internal storage. The range beats any other router I have used; and I've tried many...

I was looking for something to pump up my wifi reception in my 2bedroom apartment. My Zoom modem just wasn't kicking out the strength I needed. I have Comcast as my provider, with a 75 MB download pipe and needed that same speed for wifi and the extreme with the AC protocol fit the bill. Consistently fast! I get evey bit the 75MB download if not more! Now here is something to keep in mind. If you have an old iPhone or laptop, your wifi speed with the extreme will be matched in what your tech can handle. For example, my wife and I, our laptops can handle wifi speed up to N. The latest with the extreme is AC. My iPhone 6plus is wifi speed capable AC. My wife has an iPhone 4S which tops out at wifi speed G. If both laptops and my 6S are using wifi and I do a speed test, we all will get a 75-80MB download speed. If she logs in with her 4S, everyone slows to about a 40MB download speed. It's fast, just not screaming. See how older tech slows down newer tech. This piece of kit is worth the money and my laptops and phones paired up without any problems. I was able to rename my network and change my password and shut off my Zoom router from pushing out wifi. A good deal. Enjoy.

I've gone thru 2 routers that died on us and bought and returned other routers. Of course I bought the insurance on this one and am keeping my receipt if ever I have a problem. This is by far the best of the best and easiest to set up with no work attached afterwards. Set up easy as explained and we have just walked away and let it do its job. We set this up in our rental with 8 renters that have many items that work off the wireless and its by far our best choice. And they do not necessarily have Apple products as we do. Reception works great. Hope others have th same experience.

This is a fantastic AC router. While it does not have the same range as some of the latest AC routers on the market, the ease of use and configuration of this router definitely makes it a worthwhile competitor and to answer a lot of the questions concerning this router, yes, this router is easily configurable and use no matter what platform you are using; OS X, Windows, etc. The last thing I would point out is that if you are running OS X server at home or in the office, this router is a must have as it automatically can open and configure the required ports as needed.

Was looking to improve WIFI network to accommodate needs for expanded home automation and increase in number of "Screens" and phones in my house. Have a 5 year old Airport Extreme and was very happy with it so naturally I looked at the latest model. Also did some comparisons and my research seamed to indicate its tough to beat the WIFI strength and range of this router. Setting it up was flawless. Just plugged it in and imported my old configuration file. DONE! Very little else to do. Had to enter new passwords on some devices but all in all quite a painless install out of the box. WIFI signal strength on TV/Streaming devices? Excellent! 4 bars (Max) all of them. They are between 20 and 40 feet away from the router. I also have decent WIFI in garage now (60-70 feet away) and around my home so no need for an extender. This router is capable of speeds as high as 1Gbps on the 2.4Ghz band and as high as 1.3Ghz on the 5Ghz band. This is of course dependent on your provider. Home automation is typically on the 2.4Ghz band. I put everything else on the 5Ghz band except for 1 older TV and have had no issues streaming. I would highly recommend this router. Well worth the cost.

This was easy to set up by using my phone. After it was set up I quickly noticed a big difference when I would play games and use multiple devices at once.

The internet speed is much faster. Works great with the computer, phone and Apple TV all using it at the same time.

All that apple claims on how this performs is true. From it's easy plug and play approach (easy for anyone to set up) to its reliability and performance. Yes you need a good internet provider but that's with any router. Here is why we bought it: we needed something with range, 4K sq feet of space. 2 xbox ones running, multiple iPads and cell phones, wireless TV's and printers all running and downloading and uploading at any given time. Reason why it give it 4.5 stars vs 5. Nothing is perfect in this world, and we do not use the VPN capabilities nor extended networks - so we do not use all of its potential.
