This pencil is fantastic. It has many options for the style (looks like you are writing with a pencil, pen, or marker) and colors. Easy to change sizes of tip or color of ink. Erasing is easy as well. I used it for grading and saved a ton of time. Plus, I didn’t have to print documents in order to add comments—saved paper and toner! Love that it magnetically connects to the iPad and charges.

This is my second pen. The first series pen didn’t get used very much, always had to look for it and then recharge it. This Second series sits right up on top of my iPad, already charged. No more searching for it or waiting for it to charge. Simple to charge. Just place it on your iPad rim and it charges itself. What a great feature.

The great thing about the iPad Pro with the addition of the keyboard case and the Apple Pencil is the versatility it gives me. I can use it like a laptop when I need to, but there are times when it is nicer to use it like a paper notebook for notes. It works great for both. I have also enjoyed photo editing and the precision that I get with the pencil as opposed to mouse pointer or a finger.

Well-made Apple Pencil that easily connected to my iPad. The pencil holds a charge for a long time and seems to charge quickly. It has a nice weight to it and works smoothly on the iPad with minimal latency. Would be great if it had a clip but the fact that it has a "flat side" is a plus because it keeps the pen from rolling away.

This is a solid upgrade from the first Apple Pencil. It feels much more streamlined and sleek to use. I like the fact that it quickly charges by attachment to the side of the ipad. The only negative is that if the pencil is left connected to the iPad overnight or for long periods of time, it will significantly drain the iPad battery. Otherwise it’s a great device.

So I’ve used tablets like Wacom Bamboo. The cost of a Wacom cintiq pro is just so high! Getting a iPad Pro and pencil is just cheaper in comparison. And more compatable. Without fumbling with drivers. But if your not into the artistry of what the pencil is for. Don’t get it. If your more into apps that use finger touch. You don’t need the pencil. Beat making apps come to mind.

I purchased this Apple Pencil for my wife's 10.5" iPad Pro. This was the 2nd pencil I had to buy because the 1st one was too new. Too new? I just bought the iPad Pro the day before this pencil! The 2nd generation pencil wasn't compatible with a latest iPad. WHAT?! Anyway, she's happy and it works great for her. I never thought I'd ever pay $100 for a pencil! ugh

This is a great improvement over the first Apple Pencil. It's much easier to hold, doesn't slide as much as the first generation. However, unlike the first one, it doesn't come with extra tips, so not sure how that will affect it later down the road. Only thing I would like them to do is give us another way to charge it other than sticking it to the iPad.

This new generation of apple pencil has many advantages over its predecessor. First, it charges on the side without trying to find the original charger or plugging into the end. Secondly, it has a flat side so it doesn't roll everywhere. Lastly, it has the capability to change settings (pencil to eraser) with a tap. These features alone are worth their weight in gold.

At $129 is it really worth it? Yes it's nice and works good but way too overpriced. These companies are getting out of hand with accessories. When will consumers draw the line? I took the tablet and pencil back and picked up the tab s4 which comes with the pen. And half the cost. Save your money unless you have it to burn. That's only the way I'll recommend it.

This is a major much needed redesign to the previous model. The texture and finish is amazing and provides a better grip. The tap features makes it so much easier to take written notes or draw while swapping between eraser and pen or pencil. The charging method is simply a huge difference in the right direction fro the previous iteration.

It seems like it is way more sensitive, but that could be the iPad itself I guess. I really like the fact that you can tap it twice to change the drawing mode. (I make a lot of writing errors, LOL, and need the eraser frequently). I also like the shape better and that you don't have to worry about losing that stupid cap. What can I say, it's an Apple product!

The addition of the capacitive touch for sencodary functions makes this version far more useful than the 1st gen. The matte finish also makes for a better feel in the hand. The ‘flat’ face also keeps it from rolling off tables and the capacitive charging is big improvement. Only drawback is that it can ONLY be used with the current generation iPad pros.

I had the original pencil, never used it much as I always forgot where it was. However the new Apple Pencil for the new iPad Pro is fantastic. Smaller, feels good in your hand, attaches to the iPad magnetic for wireless charging, always handy. And I can type with it faster and more accurately then with my thumbs. If you own one of the new iPad pros this pencil is a must.

Connects seamlessly/automatically. Charges automatically. Feels like a natural pen. Works exactly like I expected it to work. Now I can use my iPad Pro like a notepad of paper, laptop, and tablet. Easily sign documents without having to print and scan. Markup documents. It's a bit expensive, but does what I need and just plain works.

I wasn't sure I'd need or even use the pencil, but I do use it all the time. With Notes (or an app of a good, similar name) it's like writing with a pen. Drawing is easy too. Be careful about the iPad Pro case you're buying, you'll want to be sure there's a space for the pencil to charge. It just lays on top of the iPad.

The apple pencil works well but I find it's very limited in what you can do with it. For example say your writing a note and want to switch apps or go to the home screen, those gesture can't be performed with the pencil. Seems like an obvious oversight in my opinion. Unless you are an artist and want to draw then you probably won't need it.

Sometimes sometimes not. Sometimes my pen will stay connected sometimes it will not if it gets down to 30% charge it seems to disconnect from my tablet and I am so new to using the iPad and the pen that I have forgotten how to reconnect it and had to call tech-support twice I don’t understand why the pain becomes unconnected even if I set it down for just a few minutes

I have used the first generation Pencil on my husband’s iPad. It was nice but I like this one way better! For starters there is no cap to chase all over the house because it flies off very easily. No extra parts to lose either just to plug it in the wall to charge. I love the fact that it has magnetic charging capability. Did I mention pairing? EZ PZ. Love it!

ordered a refurbished apple pencil online for in-store pickup, but they couldn't find one at the store, so they gave me a new one at no additional charge, so that was pretty neat. anyway, the apple pencil is fun to write and draw with, maybe not as smooth as the surface pen with a rubber nib, but it still feels great.
