It still does not feel natural.

Performance is great but it still does not feel comfortable in your hand. Writing on a glass surface with a hard plastic tip feels just like you would expect - nothing like pen/pencil and paper. Also, if you have smudges or oils from fingerprints on your iPad, you will feel each and every one of them through the pencil as it tracks across the display. I also own the Galaxy Tab S4 and while the S-Pen is no match when it comes to performance, the feeling of the pen on the surface of the tablet is much more comparable to pen and paper.

I was a little disappointed when the pencil stopped working the day after it arrived. Turns out the nib was loose, and simply tightening it fixed the problem. When using the pencil in drawing applications, something in the mix (iPad, pencil, software, etc.) causes it to skip while drawing, resulting in broken lines and uneven shading. Thankfully Apple has great support. They replaced the pencil when I went into the Apple store and demonstrated the issue. The new pencil works better, skips less.

The pencil work great but it must be attached to the iPad to charge and this is kind-of a pain. The pencil tends to get bumped off and I have noticed the iPad discharges much more quickly when it is connected all the time. I wish Apple would provide a solution to charge the pen at my desk and address the rapid discharge issue when the pen is always connected. Pen works great but I do not like the mandatory single way to keep it charged.

The Pencil Works Great for Drawing, but...

Apple does not seem to integrate handwriting recognition out of the box. There is Good Notes in the App Store, but nothing out of the box as far as I can tell. As mentioned, it works great for drawing. The interface is sleek enough to translate pressure and positioning into the desired on-screen effect. The potential is there, but the lack of handwriting recognition out of the box is a drag.

I initially wanted to use the pencil for quick notes in class or work. I thought it would be a good idea for meetings at work. I really can not get away from pen and paper notes that I may need to reference later. I think it would be a great aid for someone who needs to illustrate or calculate like a sales job on a daily usage basis. One needs it for the right application on the job.

At $129 is it really worth it? Yes it's nice and works good but way too overpriced. These companies are getting out of hand with accessories. When will consumers draw the line? I took the tablet and pencil back and picked up the tab s4 which comes with the pen. And half the cost. Save your money unless you have it to burn. That's only the way I'll recommend it.

The apple pencil works well but I find it's very limited in what you can do with it. For example say your writing a note and want to switch apps or go to the home screen, those gesture can't be performed with the pencil. Seems like an obvious oversight in my opinion. Unless you are an artist and want to draw then you probably won't need it.

Sometimes sometimes not. Sometimes my pen will stay connected sometimes it will not if it gets down to 30% charge it seems to disconnect from my tablet and I am so new to using the iPad and the pen that I have forgotten how to reconnect it and had to call tech-support twice I don’t understand why the pain becomes unconnected even if I set it down for just a few minutes

I bought this for my Ipad Pro 12.9 inch that I bought in July. I had no idea that it would not work with anything except the newest ipad that was just released a month ago. I feel like that should have been made clear to me. I returned it and found the original apple pencil elsewhere.

The was not happy at all that my old ipencil was not compatible with my new iPad. Clearly Apple just wanted me to spend more. Is this pencil cool? Yes. They didn’t even give you an extra tip and it can only be charged on the iPad whereas the old pencil had a lightning port.

compared to 1st generation, it fixed a major problem the stupid charging mechanics. built in touch and snap on wireless charging are great. tho it does require an 1000 dollar charger, your iPad Pro. it does not work with any other qi charger. also the price, need I say more?

I like the pencil, it makes highlighting text in a paragraph easier than using your finger. I also enjoy using it just hand write. I am not much of a drawer, so I can not say anything about this. I am giving it a three only because it is pricey for what it is used for.

I enjoy the Apple Pencil and haven’t had any problems but I prefer the feel of my surface pen or Wacom. I don’t use the pencil very much and I paid a lot of money for it (because everything Apple is really expensive). I can’t say I’d buy it again.

As every Apple product it’s built quality is flawless. My complaint is about the double tap feature with activates constantly without double tapping, witch results in undesirable switching from pencil to eraser quite often.

The pencil works absolutely as it should, but for 80% of what I do, a foam tip stylus works too. Cost / benefit not that great from that point of view. The precision of the fine tip is a feature no foam tip or finger can beat however.

Just ok Nuttin especial The pin charges and attaches mechanically with the magnet. It makes using and finding a cover challenging. I haven’t use the pen enough to know whether it’s worthwhile or just another gadget

Maybe I haven’t used it to it’s full potential, but I thought it would do more. If you are using it for design, or children coloring, etc it seems great if you download certain apps. Just not what I expected

I got this Apple Pencil with hopes that it will be helpful to writing or drawing on my new iPad Pro. Well, it's not. Also, switching pens with touch gestures is not comfortable in my hands.

This pencil does not seem to do anything more than the previous one yet cost more. Maybe it’s the magnet to hold it on but it pops off in my so I am not too crazy about it!

This product is hard to hold. Had to buy a gripper on amazon. Which then I have to take off to cheese the pencil. Double tap feature is convenient but difficult to double tap
