    Most comfortable watch

    Posted
    vbmbardo

I've tried dozens of smart watches and even regular watches before smart watches existed. I've never before encountered a band that was simultaneously so easy to put on and remove, and so comfortable while wearing it. It doesn't chafe my skin, cause itching/peeling, or have problems with fitting either too loose or too tight like nearly every other watch does. It also doesn't pull my arm hairs (I am a man and my forearms are hairy) like most other watch bands do. Even if all it did was keep time, this would be worth 5 stars on its own. But it turns out that the Apple Watch is useful for far more than keeping time. I have the cellular model, so I always have an emergency phone call on my wrist, even if I lose my phone. It even gives me an extra sense of security, because if someone manages to steal my phone or attempt to rob me, if I manage to get away from them before they take my watch, I can call emergency services while I'm fleeing. At minimum it will cause them to dispatch a police car as they will be able to geolocate the watch using GPS and know exactly where I am. It will also alert my emergency contact that I set up on my iPhone. So far it gets so many points for being a security device of sorts as well as keeping time very comfortably. But I also get email and SMS notifications to my watch, and when I turn on "prominent notifications", the alerts I choose to have on are powerful enough to wake me from sleep. So people can wake me up with a text instead of actually calling me. This is great for taking a quick nap mid-day (off the clock, of course) while employed -- if someone needs me, they can send me an email and I'll wake up and read it, and I won't be out of pocket for any amount of time. It's also a very smart watch for buying gas, convenient entry to movie theaters, tracking my physical activity with Weight Watchers, and so many things I discover every day. Out of all the Apple products I've ever owned, I actually believe that my Watch Series 3 is the most useful one by a significant margin. And that's saying something, because I really do love my iPhone. It's really a bit funny to me that the smaller my Apple devices get, the more integral they are to my life. I can live without my Macbook, no problem. I don't use my Apple TV too terribly often, either. My iPad's usage is very situational. I'm never without my iPhone, but it's still a bit less convenient to whip out my phone for many things that I can just do on my watch, including taking phone calls and responding to SMS. I also tried the competition - the Samsung Gear S3 - and wasn't impressed. The Apple Watch is way more comfortable to wear and has more integration with apps and services I use. I would give this watch 10 stars if I could - I've never consistently gotten more value out of a product before than I do with my Apple Watch.

I’ve always been on the fence about whether or not to buy an Apple Watch. But when the Series 3 GPS + Cellular went on Deal of the Day, I jumped on it and thought this must be the time. I didn’t really know much about the watch or what all it can help you do, but I already enjoy many Apple products and knew it would be intuitive and just work. Only hours after getting home with it I liked it more and more and knew it was money well spent for me. I’ve always liked to track my fitness using apps on my phone and this is likely going to be the biggest point for me. I don’t even plan on adding a cellular plan at this time but with the built in GPS and activity tracking I really don’t need my phone and apps to track using cellular. I enjoy the motivation it brings by pushing you to “close your rings”. Meaning you are supposed to move around to be healthier. You can set your MOVE calorie goal, the EXERCISE goal for which the watch tracks your exercise or brisk movement that gets your heart rate to increase using the built in heart rate monitor, and the STAND ring that reminds you to get up and move around for a minute. For desk workers it is just too easy to get involved in a project at our desk and not get up so this will remind you. I really like the customization of the watch too. By being able to setup different faces and complications and easily switch among them. I might have one for use during the day and then swipe over to another that gives me more of a quick glance af metrics during workouts. Or you might like to see reminders or calendar events, or likely many other complications depending on apps you might already use on your iPhone. There are many. Just look at the apps you already use and review their Apple Watch functions in the App Store. Oh. It also tells the time. Aside from its usability, it looks great too. I really like the sophisticated look of the space gray and can be paired up with a stainless or leather band to dress it up, or it is just as well with the sport band. I actually got the last one at the store with a dark gray band rather than black and I really like it. If you’re not sure about getting an Apple Watch I would tell you to just get it. Especially if any of the Series 3 are on sale. I think you’ll really like it.

Worse product I've had from Apple

I've had every Apple product since the second Ipod (2003?), including Macs, at least 1 of each Iphone models, 5 Ipads, and none of them broke. I resisted to buy an Apple Watch because i was skeptical of its benefits. When i finally decide to buy one, i confirmed it is LESS than a nice to have and incredibly fragile. After two months the FIRST time it falls (from a night table) it breaks in pieces. Bad quality, for a product that is really just a control remote of your Iphone. Despite buying the watch with LTE service (and paying for it a monthly fee), I couldn't even stream music on it. You need to pay ANOTHER subscription for Apple Music because this watch doesn't support Spotify. So you end up buying a +400-500 dollar watch, paying 20 dollars a month for Cel and Music service, ... Also, calls sometimes come to the watch, sometimes just to the phone. AND, you need to get Apple Care because this watch is going to break every other month ($49 of Apple Care plus $69 for every time the screen breaks). If you don't get Apple Care (like i did, since i've never broke any Apple product), to replace it or fix it they will charge you $289. And trust me, it will break more sooner than later. This is a total rip-off. I decided not getting a new one, take the loss and not put more good money into bad money.

First off I am a technologist I always have been. In fact, I was a devoted in diehard PC user for over 25 years. I recently had a stroke and therefore I converted entirely Macintosh products ( iPhone, iMac, and a Mac Pro) and because of my inability to use my left arm and hand. The Apple platform is simply just superior when you want things to just work. Therefore I was very excited to get an Apple cellular Watch. The prospect of not having to carry around my iPhone Is very attractive. I have never been more disappointed in a product like this than I can ever remember. For the purposes of this review, Let’s just forget about the 3 hours and a trip to the ATT store it took to get it working. Honestly you would think that by now a company like Att would figure this stuff out. Not so....wow.... The Apple marketing materials would lead you to believe that you can run most IOS apps on this watch. While technically this is true, real life practice is entirely a different story. For example, I use Pandora and Sound Cloud. I am not in Apple Music user. Both of these apps require your iPhone to be near the watch (Bluetooth distance) to use them and do not work by themselves on the watch. Apple requires you to use their music player and their music platform. Period. I am not a fan of this platform for many reasons. The user forums on various sites are filled with literally thousands of complaints about this bullsh... Buyer beware.... While I might be able to get past this severe limitation, what I cannot get past is that I am unable to sync my iwatch 3 with my brand new Ford car. If you really dig deeper, youll discover that the watch is only able to pair with an iPhone. Period. You Cannot even pair it with an iPad or Amazon Alexa or any other device for that matter. This oversight on apple’s part is unforgivable. Talk about a bait and switch. Bluetooth is the most universal connectivity on the planet at this point. To not be able to pair the watch with the Bluetooth in my car or my iPad or any other device is absolutely insane. Needless to say, I will be returning this product tomorrow for a full refund. Perhaps in a year or two Apple will get with the program and open the platform and make the iwatch 3 actually usable. Until then my suggestion is to look elsewhere to other products that are MUCH less expensive and perform the same and more functions. What a total waste of my valuable time.... Severely disappointed, Jeff

I was always on the fence about getting an Apple Watch. But when these went on deal of the day I mentioned it to my wife and she said she wanted one too. So we ran down to Best Buy and bought them. She liked the silver and I liked the space gray. I didn’t really know much about the watch but we already have several Apple products so I knew it would be intuitive and just work. And that it is. As we got home with them and dug into it I like it more and more and knew it was money well spent for us. We already like to track our fitness using apps on our phone but the watch makes it easier and also adds the motivation and competition with friends and family to “close your rings”. After learning of all the things we could do my wife jokingly texted me, “it tells time too!”. There’s a lot of customization you can do with the faces and complications using built in apps or apps you might already use that have an Apple Watch function. And even get different bands to change your style. If you’re not sure about getting one I would say just get it. I think you’ll be glad you did.

    Almost Perfect Smartwatch

I'll admit that when the whole smartwatch craze started I didn't think I'd ever want of need one. Then I had the Gear S2 when it first came out and I was still on Android. Well, I've had the Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE for just over a week now and this is the smartwatch I've been waiting for. My only real complaints about this device are the included sports band is rather uncomfortable and a pain to use and I wish the built in speaker was a bit louder. That's the only cons I have for the device. The band I replaced with a nice leather one found elsewhere without the Apple Tax and I've learned to live with the speaker. The watch is very responsive and the included LTE capabilities worked as advertised. I do hope Apple will open up the API's to allow third party streaming music services to stream via LTE as I am not a huge fan of Apple Music. Add Google All Access and I'm in heaven. Siri has been way more helpful on the watch than it ever has been on the iPhone. Notifications are handled well and replying to messages is a piece of cake. You really can't go wrong with the Series 3 Apple Watch.

My husband decided I should have the series 3 that has cellular service. That way I'd have my phone on me at all times...no more missed calls, etc. Although I might need my glasses to see it more clearly at times, I have grown to love my watch.I probably don't use all the neat things it can do, but my main thing was the phone. And I can walk around and keep baking or doing laundry etc, while talking on my watch...and I don't have to hold it up to my mouth either. I love that I can answer a text with the microphone and my words simply turn into a typed message. I also tried the activity app...just for fun....but I find myself looking at it all the time. Now I have proof that just a walk in the woods really is exercise!!! I really love my apple series 3 with cellular, and I would definitely recommend it...especially if you tend to leave your phone somewhere and miss calls and such. Oh, if you get the cellular option, just be aware that you can use it just while connected to bluetooth, but if you want to use it on cellular while away from your bluetooth devices, you will need to add your watch to your current cellular plan...mine was $10/mo with verizon.

Ive had this for almost a week now and I was apprehensive about upgrading from my series 1. I had the stainless steel 42mm model and was happy with it overall. The biggest complaint I had about it was how long it took to boot up. I figured I'd give this one a try knowing I could return it if I wasn't impressed. I definitely have no intentions on returning it. This watch boots up much faster than my series 1, the battery life seems to last longer through the day as long as I'm connected to my phone. If I leave my phone, I notice a pretty quick drop in battery life. I am looking forward to being apple to play Apple music when that feature becomes available next month. I'm not an avid runner, but building myself up to a mini-marathon so the music, health and exercise apps are a definite plus for me. This version may not be for everyone, but the speed and options this thing brings makes it a worthwhile upgrade for me. Now I just need to find someone to buy my Series 1 stainless steel. I would definitely recommend this watch.

I pre-ordered this the day it was announced. I was supposed to order this thru apple but it will take a month for them to arrive. It’s nice that best buy can also pre-order and pick up on release date. Got the gold color and I must say it is gorgeous. I had the series 1&2 in gold and to compare , the color is in between a rosegold and a gold. The cellular was easy to activate upon setting up your apple watch. But since the apple music streaming is not yet available i cant really tell the difference of the cellular version and none cellular.. to me its identical since you also need to connect your watch thru bluetooth. I compared the screen of my series 2 to this and noticed that the series 2 had somewhat a brighter screen, im not sure why maybe because the cellular version of this has the antenna embedded in the screen? I recommend getting the 42mm if you have the extra cash the screen size is way better than the smaller one..

I’m a teacher and I use my Apple Watch constantly. I love that I see emails and messages from my wrist without needing to pull my phone out in the middle of a lesson. Alarms silently vibrate on my wrist to keep my classroom on schedule. Calendar appointments and reminders keep me on task. My favorite part is the health tracking. I’ve used it in conjunction with many apps such as myfitnesspal, fitbod, Fitbit, and Nike running app, etc. It syncs well with all of those apps. The main reason I chose it over my old Fitbit, was the band. The Fitbit caused irritation on my wrist after only a day of wear. I continually cleaned and dried it, but it trapped too much moisture and witching 24 hours would begin to break my skin out. No such problem with the Apple Watch 3. Plus, I love the availability of 3rd party cloth, leather, and metal bands. It allows the Watch to fit any occasion. And it’s waterproof!!

The biggest factor that convinced me to finally purchase the watch was the fact that it had cellular capability. Keep in mind that if you purchase the watch and actually want to use the cellular feature, you will need to shell out the extra $10 a month and add the watch to your phone plan. Personally, the monthly fee is worth it to me based on how I use my watch, but I know that it isn’t for everyone. One of the biggest things I was worried wouldn’t be too great before I actually purchased the watch was the battery. But I’ve actually been really surprised, as the battery lasts a lot longer for me than I initially thought it would. With a full charge, it would last me about two full days of just regular daily activity. I’ve also experienced a much longer talk time on a call from the watch than what Apple has originally claimed, which is something else I’ve definitely appreciated. However, I believe any actual battery life also depends on how many other tasks the watch is juggling at the same time.

The watch is really cool I love the sleekness of the whole screen and how bright and new it is. The band is really soft and easy to maneuver I love the way it has a grip and the way it fits around the wrist. The green light doesn’t actually tell when you are really exercising that is one con it has. The light also makes a mark on my skin like it burned my skin some. I hate one factor that when it needs to update it has to be through the phone. Photos to show up in the background is also connected through the phone also. To download music, you have to also put it through the phone, but it only downloads a certain amount. The whole watch is great in itself its big enough to read the text and the notifications it gives out. It is really cool how you can also answer phone calls on it and talk to Siri through the watch. The buzzing of the watch when you have the GPS on is really helpful to let you know it’s time to turn OTAsn

This is my first Apple Watch. I always knew they would eventually offer the watch with cellular, so I waited. It took an hour on the phone with my phone carrier to finally get it set up. However, they’ve been out long enough that most reps are able to trouble-shoot and figure it out. I love this watch because I don’t have to carry my phone around at work no matter where I am on campus. Like anything, the watch takes some getting used to. The younger generation is happy to answer any questions I have, and there’s tons of information available online. The only thing I dislike about the watch is the red dot on the side. I guess Apple wanted their customers to be able to distinguish one watch from another with the glance of an eye. If you’re willing to drop $500 and think you’d use the cellular option, then get this watch. You’ll be glad you did.

It's honestly so nice to be able to do so many things with this watch. Its easy to text someone back through the watch (despite it typing some things wrong often unless you speak pretty clearly and not too fast) and it shows you notifications that I could easily miss not looking at my phone. Has definitely helped in situations like when I'm driving or if I wanna easily turn off or turn on music without having to reach for my phone. I also wore this watch to the beach and got it super wet as I was testing its water resistance and everything was perfect still. Remember this watch is not water-proof and based on what I googled its okay for showering (it should avoid soaps though), pools, and ocean stuff as long as you don't dive into deep depths. The only reason I don't give it five stars is on how expensive the item is. It also has very good battery life!

I had done my research on all the "smart" watches out there but unfortunately most of them are just activity trackers. I wanted to get more from a $300-400 watch then a step counter, thats why after doing extensive research I switched completely from Android to Apple just for this watch. The support (upgrades, maintenance, and technology) is second to none. I've had the watch for over a year now, still rugged and durable, original band still fits like new. I give this thing a beating and it still works like a brand new watch. Even the battery life hasn't diminished noticeably. I get about 2 solid days of battery life unless I spend a few hours tracking a long workout at the gym, then it lasts about a day and a half. Great watch!

Basically, it's a series 2 but with cellular capabilities. I know several people with android smart watches that complain that their cellular requires a dedicated phone number for people to call if someone needs to call their watch while they are away because they forgot their phone. Not the case with these. It does have a dedicated phone number but that phone number on the series 3 is for nothing more than identifying it on your account. If you leave your phone at home and someone calls your phone, your watch will ring vs with Android someone calls your phone your watch won't ring unless they call the dedicated watch phone number. That, in itself, makes things a bit easier. The setup of the watch is very easy to do. It's also very easy to operate.

Actually, I wasn’t sure what to expect from owning an Apple Watch. After using it for quite a while, I’ve come to learn that it’s quite handy. I haven’t fully pushed it to its full potential since I mainly use it to tell time. Kidding, sort of, but yeah my setup is simple. I mainly use mine to control Apple Music (volume, play/pause, next) without having to take out my phone (while working) and also conveniently see what emails, text messages or calls I get at a glance as I listen to music on my Airpods. Now, the biggest downfall for me personally is that the custom ring/text tones do not play from the Apple Watch itself or via the Airpods (while in use) so basically it’s one generic sound/vibration that alerts you your notifications while simultaneously connected to each other through Bluetooth.

I purchased a Series 3 Apple Watch for my wife for Mother's Day. She already had an Apple Watch but this was an upgrade with GPS and cellular. She loved her old watch but she absolutely loved the new one. Here's the twist in the story, she gave me her old watch and quite frankly, I didn't want it. She insisted that I try it so I put it on just before leaving on a road trip. It turns out the watch came in handy, working seamlessly with Apple Maps and it helped me get to my destination without getting lost. I also like how it keeps track of how many steps I take in a day. So to summarize, I now like the Apple Watch so much that I'll likely upgrade when the Series 4 becomes available.

My first apple watch. I like the size of the watch face but wish it came with large and small wristbands. For the price I don't think it would hurt apple to give two bands. I have a small wrist but prefer the larger watches. I just had to go to a site and purchase a small 42mm band. I haven't had any issues with the watch and do use it daily. I wish more apps were compatible, but that's not the watch that's the app makers. I love the applepay through the watch. I got this mainly so I could wear it while hiking. Part to track my trail but also in case I needed to make a call while out there. I bought an airpod holder that slides onto the band. So I don't have to take my phone on the trail, just my watch.

You will have nothing but errors if you try to use it alone without the phone. I miss important text messages and the like everyday. You need to read the fine print on how messaging works and how terrible this is. Also, all major companies have left the App Store for the watch. Unlimited data plans mean nothing when you can't even use the data lol. It legit does not update apps with LTE, so your news is old and only up to date if your phone is near. Please do not get this if you think you can use it for standalone work other than running and listening to podcasts/phonecalls. Its upsetting that I can't even return this item.
