The 12.9" iPad Pro works perfectly for me! I get everyone who sees it asking me how it is, and I have nothing but positive things to say about it! The iPad Pro exceeds my expectations for what I wanted it to do for my personal and work use. And the picture is my Pro with a keyboard case on it to make it look like a laptop.

Game changer. New category of tablet

I own a lot of tablets from iPad, Lenovo, Samsung, etc.... For the most part, the Air 2 is the king of the tablet world until now. The iPad Pro is by far the ultimate tablet in every way. It's sooo far above everything else that it truly is a game changer. The speakers have low end and the spatial separation is so good between all 4 speakers that the media experience is totally immersive and surround sound like. The battery life is also outstanding with 12 hours of strait Netfix play at 50% volume and screen brightness from my initial testing. Then there is the speed. It is blistering fast. So fast that it makes the Air 2 seem slow and the Air 2 was significantly smoother and faster than anything from Samsung. The Pro CAN be a laptop replacement depending on how you use your laptop. The speakers on the Pro are certainly better than any laptop in clarity and fullness. Split screen apps look like two separate iPad Air 2 running side by side. Pip looks like a Mini 4 playing a movie floating independently on the Pros screen while you do other work. I can certainly run most of my business with the iPad Pro. Factor in the ipencil and Pro keeps establishing a new element to a Pro tablet. I am hyper critical with my tech tools and I can find no fault with the Pro. The more I use it the more it is impressive. Its certainly worth the price of admission.

Love the new larger iPad screen size. For my purposes, this is sufficient to replace a laptop. The latest Microsoft office suite app updates work great on the iPad pro, and the split screen in which you can have 2 apps open at once is great for productivity. The device is very fast and responsive, and the Retina display provides excellent hi resolution. I also use the device for watching TV Shows and movies mostly using headphones, but when I've used it with the built in speakers, I was really impressed! This is a great device for watching video content, picture quality is awesome and the sound very good when using built in speakers due to the addition of 2 additional speakers, so there is 4 total, 2 on each side. In all other iPads there are only 2 speakers on a single side. The 4 speaker distribution gives sort of a virtual surround sound, and they are very loud. In conclusion, I highly recommend this device if you can afford the higher price over the normal iPad Air, it's light and not that much bigger than the regular IPad in terms of the weight of carrying it around. It's great for productivity and is meant for more of a business type audience. But don't let that stop you even if you don't want to use it for work.

I have been using an iPad ever since the first generation came out and the amount of technology that they can pack into these thin, light devices never ceases to amaze me. If you are used to an iPad, there is really not much to say about the iPad Pro except for the fact that it is huge. I used to have an iPad Air before purchasing the Pro, and the iPad Air seems tiny and quaint by comparison. Then again, Apple built the iPad Pro by taking two iPad Air screens and "jamming" them together, so it makes sense that the Pro is a much larger device. Until I started using it, however, I never would have imagined just how large it is. I was used to the iPad Air, which fits very comfortably in the hand. I could use my Air in bed to read (or play some games) without any problem. Not so with the Pro, which requires you to either have it on a flat surface or use two hands to hold it (which can be awkward considering that you need one of your hands to interact with it). Trying to use one hand to hold the device typically means having it rest on your forearm or a leg. Also, given the size of the screen and the fact that most of the apps were designed for the Air (or even the Mini) in mind, the apps fail to take advantage of all the real estate available with such a large, gorgeous screen. Many apps are simply enlarged/magnified on the Pro, making for what is actually an awkward experience. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I find that I cannot use the Pro at the same distance from my eyes as I can the Air or the Mini as everything is actually too large on the screen. The device needs to be further away, otherwise my eyes cannot see the whole screen. During a typical work day, this is not a problem. When trying to use the device in bed, however, it is just not feasible for me. Ironically enough, I find that I now have two iPads... My Pro, which I use most of the time, and a Mini, which I use for reading in bed. That kind of defeats the purpose of having an iPad Pro to be my single device. One other shortcoming is that the iPad Pro is being sold as a laptop replacement. As long as it continues to use iOS without the ability to use a mouse, that will never be the case in my opinion. The larger screen makes it nicer to use as a laptop replacement when traveling, but iOS lacks all of the usability and features of a MacBook. The experience is simply not the same. As an example, I recently traveled and was working on some PowerPoints. I could not type the slide notes and actually see the slide at the same time, which was horribly frustrating. While I realize this is more of an app issue than a hardware issue, it is indicative of the overall experience I have had thus far. It is a nice option, but nowhere near perfect. I love my Apple devices, but am still very, very tempted to try a Surface Pro, which is simply a PC in a tablet form. I do not want to sacrifice the features in OS X to try and accommodate a tablet form factor, and I think Microsoft learned their lesson from Windows 8 and 8.1. It seems like the implementation of cross-over devices like the Surface Pro has been improved significantly since the release of Windows 10 and I honestly wish something similar existed within the Apple architecture. I do like iOS, mind you, but as iOS expands to accommodate both a 4" iPhone and a 12"+ iPad Pro, some trade-offs are being made and the size of the iPad Pro simply illuminates and magnifies the shortcomings of iOS as a platform for mobile computing. Playing games and using simple apps, no problem. Trying to replace my MacBook Pro with productivity apps, however, not so much. Also, given that the iPad Pro is marketed as being a laptop replacement, it is annoying that I have to spend another $170 on a separate keyboard. Typing on the screen is simply not an option for a touch typist who is looking to replace a laptop for work travel. The device is very thin and remarkably light for its size. On the other hand, I had one of Apple's new MacBooks, which was actually thinner and lighter than my iPad Pro in a case with the keyboard. If only the screen on my MacBook could flip all the way over and OS X could run an iOS emulator... That would truly give me the best of both worlds. I travel quite a bit and want to protect the iPad. With a case attached, along with the Smart Keyboard, the device is almost as large as my MacBook Pro (and it is larger and heavier than the MacBook). One nice thing, though, is that I am able to use the iPad Pro all day on a single charge, which is something I cannot do with my MacBook or MacBook Pro. When flying across the country with a few layovers, being able to use a device all day without having to sit next to an electrical outlet at the airport is a tremendous benefit. In summary, the iPad Pro is simply a really big iPad. Given its size, it is easier for vendors (and Apple themselves) to build accessory keyboards that are full-size keyboard, which is nice. The included technology that interfaces with the Apple Pencil is also great and I am still exploring the ways I can use my iPad as a traditional notepad replacement along with my Apple Pencil. If you are looking to replace your laptop for traveling, this may be a good fit. It is not perfect and you may still miss many of the features of your laptop, but it is not a bad compromise given its portability, battery life, and not having to turn the device off during taxiing, takeoff, and landing! If you are thinking that the bigger screen would be nicer than your current iPad for reading, playing games, or other leisure tasks, I would recommend going to a store and picking one up first. Play with it and make sure the additional bulk is okay. I am not kidding when I say the device just feels huge compared to the iPad Air. The Air feels like it is made to be used as a tablet. The Pro, not so much.

I have an iPad mini retina and an iPad 3 which I have really enjoyed using, but I still found myself frequently using my 13" MacBook Pro at home due to its larger screen size. I have found that the IPad Pro has replaced my MacBook Pro for most uses. In fact, its screen is noticeably better than the MacBook's. It also has really impressed me with its battery life for having such a large screen in a light weight package. It has fast processing speed, and when I use my other iPads they seem noticeably slower in comparison. Although it is large in size for a tablet, it is still very light and comfortable to hold. It is like holding and reading a magazine due to its large screen size. It is great for media. The speakers on it are excellent, and they have eliminated for me the need to use a separate blue tooth speaker when listening to music. I have really enjoyed playing games on it with its combination of screen size, 4 speaker sound and fast graphics. I have also purchased an Apple Pencil to use with it, and I have been taking all of my work related notes on the Pro. It is really a good all around tablet, and I can see it being used as a laptop replacement for many people.

    iPad Pro: The Product Replacer

After watching weeks’ worth of peoples’ impressions, unboxings, and reviews of the iPad Pro online, I finally went out and purchased my very own. Despite the very large amount of negative feedback its receiving, I must say, I am satisfied with mine. To begin, I’m going to introduce myself as a 19-year-old college student who has never owned an iPad. I didn’t see the point of buying a tablet since I owned a laptop and an iPhone already. If I wanted the convenience and speed of a mobile app, I could use my phone. If I wanted the power and productivity of a big screen and keyboard, I could use my laptop. But when I heard the iPad Pro would receive major hardware upgrades, I thought about how useful this tablet would be for me, and how many other products it can replace. Allow me to elaborate on the major hardware upgrades I’m referencing. For instance, the iPad Pro has quad speakers. Apple claims these speakers are three times louder than their second-newest tablet, the iPad Air 2, and I believe them. These speakers are louder than any of my friends’ laptops that I’ve compared with. In fact, my friends and the strangers listening to our comparison from afar were all blown away at how much volume this behemoth can produce. Additionally, as if the speakers weren’t great enough, the Pro’s speakers alternate the bass depending on which position you choose to hold it in, landscape or portrait. Although I have to admit, especially if you’re buying a keyboard (which I consider a must), you will very rarely be using your iPad in portrait mode, so you probably won’t appreciate this feature as much as someone would who was using, say, an iPad Mini, or even the medium-sized iPads. So, this iPad can compensate the user for their purchase of an external speaker because their laptop or phone was just too quiet. That’s one product replacement. Another major hardware upgrade is, obviously, the humongous and beautiful screen. Although Apple is trying to hype up the screen because of how many pixels is inside the screen (5.6 million), this iPad has the same pixels per inch as the iPad Air 2 (264 ppi), and less ppi than the iPad Mini 4 (326 ppi). Therefore, if you’re wanting an iPad mostly for the beautiful screen, the mini should be your first thought. But, regardless, the Pro’s screen is amazing, and I am very satisfied when watching videos on it. Furthermore, the big screen combined with loud speakers can allow for watching movies for tv shows rom a fair distance, like a television. Of course, I wouldn’t recommend a family of five replacing their mounted 52” flat screen for this 13” tablet to be put on a stand and viewed in the living room. However, if you’re a student living in a dorm, like myself, or if you live in a small apartment with one or two roommates, all of you could very much enjoy watching movies together on the iPad from a distance, if you find a way to stand it up at a decent 90 or 100 degree angle. The angle at which both the Smart Keyboard and Logitech CREATE Keyboard sits the iPad up at makes the tablet lean back slightly too far, which might annoy some people (like me). I personally do use this iPad as a television replacement while living in my dorm because I do not own a television. I can stand up the iPad on my bed on a few well-placed pillows so that it will mimic the viewing angle of a television. With the speakers on full volume, I can walk around anywhere in my dorm, make food to eat, clean the dorm up, all while still being able to see the iPad and hear it sufficiently. I can even read the subtitles from a distance, if the font is on large. All in all, this iPad is big enough that it can be a television replacement for a singular person who only uses their tv for cable (not gaming) considering there are free websites that allow anyone to stream their favorite tv shows, and most, if not all, television stations have their tv schedules online for anyone to view; they are usually even detailed and reveal which season and episode is currently playing on television. That’s two product replacements. The iPad Pro has an insanely high amount of battery power. Apple claims 10-hour, all-day battery life, and I believe it. Every Tuesday and Thursday, I have 4 consecutive classes from 11 am to 4:45 pm. The first day of classes with my new iPad was a major success. I started the day by typing math notes that I would normally write down on a sheet of paper. I took about 30 minutes worth of notes for that class. Then, for my second class, I used the iPad to reference an essay my professor printed off and handed out in class to discuss for the majority of the class. I realize this wasn’t completely necessary since my professor handed out physical copies, but, if you’re like me, you prefer electronic versions over paper. Next, in my third class, I took notes again on the iPad for about 1 hour straight this time. Lastly, in my fourth and final class of the day, I used it for social media and gaming with the volume off while my professor lectured. The last class of the day is always rough, guys. So, after 4 consecutive classes with the iPad Pro, using it in each and every class, you might thinking surely this tablet is at 20% and dying, right? Wrong. By the end of all my classes, when I was heading back to my dorm, the iPad was just shy of 70% charged. I then returned to my dorm and started gaming and entertaining myself with videos and social media for a large portion of the evening. Finally, by the end of the night when I was ready for bed, the iPad was at about 10%. I was amazed it still had juice in it considering I never touched my laptop and my phone was in the 70% region. For a comparison, my phone used to always be under 20% by the end of the night before buying this tablet. Therefore, clearly, this tablet replaced my laptop and phone, mostly. However, I cannot determine if it would do the same for you. I still use my laptop to play some games that require Java, and I store my documents and important files on my laptop (even stuff I created on the iPad I will save to my laptop). But other that, this iPad has replaced my laptop. That’s potentially three product replacements. Moving from hardware to software, iOS 9 allows for split screen viewing of many vital applications. This feature makes the iPad a true productive device, especially for students. I recently wrote a research paper on the iPad, with the help of the Logitech keyboard, and with split screen, I could save the articles I was going to use in my paper to iBooks, open Microsoft Word or Pages (I find them to be equally as good), and split screen my research paper draft, and the research in iBooks that I have to read in order to write the paper, side-by-side. This helped tremendously for when I wanted to copy a sentence or more that I found in the articles that were worth quoting. Although it’s true that not many apps currently support split screen viewing, the ones that do are the main ones you would need, such as all the native iPad apps. Besides, in a short amount of time, I’m confident a large portion of the apps from the app store will be updated to support iPad Pro/iOS 9 and all their great features. Of course this is just the beginning of what this new iPad is capable of becoming. In the near or distant future, Apple or a third-party company could release a new accessory for the smart connector or create an app of epic proportions that could replace another product you may or may not own. There are other products this iPad could replace that I haven’t mentioned, a number of digital drawing tablets, if you buy the Apple Pencil, for example, but I will end here. These are all product replacements I have noticed the iPad could replace within the short amount of time I’ve owned it. Again, these product replacements are not possible for everyone, but definitely a decent-sized audience. I am excited to see what app developers and Apple have in mind for the iPad Pro in the future. FYI: This review was made weeks ago. I accidentally posted this review on the cellular version, which I do not own, and have just decided to post it on this product (the one which I do own) after BestBuy sent me an email telling me to review this product that I bought.

If you need the screen size for work, this is the way to go. I had an iPad Air2 previously and the only real change is the screen size and a bit more processing power. That and the Apple pencil. If you're getting this, you can afford the extra $100 for the pencil. Get one; you NEED it. It is a bit heavier and takes some getting used to the size...it feels almost ridiculous at first. However, for marking on digital documents (in my case, musical scores) it is fantastic. In addition, it is spectacular for presentations and general multimedia consumption. It's big and heavy enough that if you want to hold it one handed you'd be better off with an iPad Air2, but if you want to be able to easily manipulate electronic documents, this is the best product available.

Love the iPad. I'm a student in college and I exclusively use it for my notes in class now coupled with an apple pencil. The screen size is as if I'm writing on sheet of notebook paper. Download speeds are amazing with the dual band wireless, and the processor speeds are great to. Yea, its an investment, but it works flawlessly. On an entertainment standpoint, the sound is incredible with the 4 speakers, and even rivals my expensive laptop, and the picture is awesome. I get a full 12 hours of battery life with a full charge of constant use, with the brightness set to 75%. If there is a negative, it would be that it does take about 5 or six hours to charge it completely.

Let me start out by saying I've never been able to find tablets that useful for myself. I have always been contempt with a "phablet" style phone and a laptop. A tablet never served me well since it wasn't as portable as a phone, nor was it as practical as a laptop for its size. This is the first tablet that has made me see the usefulness in tablets. It's display is nearly as large as my macbook pro and the OS is buttery smooth with the hardware inside. Pros: •The speakers - The stereo speakers in this tablet surprised me. They are loud and crisp and rival the speakers in my Macbook pro. The placement is also convenient since you won't cover them when holding the iPad in landscape. •The screen - It's large retina screen is sharp and has accurate color reproduction. The screen is also incredible bright. We keep it around ~25% and it's plenty bright. •Memory- Apple stuffed 4gigs of RAM in this beast, which is insane since it's still running the same version of iOS that runs just fine on my iPhone 6+ that has a quarter of the memory. This makes the device run extremely smooth and running intensive art studio apps(ie. photoshop and procreate) a breeze even when running split screen with a web browser. I've seriously not been able to make this iPad stutter, which I can do easily with my iPhone. Apps don't need to refresh in the background as often because of this and this makes the experience all the better! Cons: •Storage options: I picked up the 128gig version because the 32gig version is just not quite enough for an item like this. The 32gig model will only allocate around 24gigs to the user. For only $150 more to quadruple your storage, it's an easy choice to get the 128gig. It would have made more sense to have a 64gig and a 128gig model, for which I would have opted for the 64gig. •No included Apple pencil - This iPad is great for my girlfriend to use for digital art, but having to purchase a stylus separately that was specifically made and designed to work with this iPad left a sour taste in my mouth. It's a typical Apple thing to do to make you purchase it separately, but it should not be a separate $100 fee for the stylus. •The iPad Pro could use a revamped look to really utilize the extra space rather than the typical app drawer look of iOS. It looks out of place and definitely dated on this huge screen. Just a small gripe. Overall it's a great device that should have no problem keeping up with future updates with the specs included. However, if you aren't going to utilize it for the Apple pencil features and art, it's not really all that worth it. My girlfriend absolutely loves using it for artwork and it's now her preferred device for digital art.

I wanted to get the iPad Pro to replace my MacBook Pro, plus be able to draw. The gorgeous drawings in the ads were the main attraction for me, and for me, the iPad Pro is amazing. The size is perfect, the weight is good, the drawing is awesome; I love it. HOWEVER. It was hard to find a keyboard that didn't give me instant carpal tunnel - I bought the Zagg one and it was the best I'd tried. Sadly, though, even adding a keyboard wasn't going to get me to the business machine I wanted. I use Go To My PC to interface with my work computer, but it wouldn't recognize my Bluetooth keyboard. So I decided to just love the iPad Pro for what it is (a giant, awesome iPad) and not try to make it into something it isn't (a business laptop). Can some people use it for business? Probably, yeah, sure. Did it work for my particular business needs? No. But it is still AMAZING and I recommend it highly. The sound is gorgeous, it's already easy to find good cases, etc., and it makes doodling really fun.

The iPad Pro is best described in one word, BIG. That is the first thing people say, and what I said when I took it out of the box. But while big, it is no heavy and the screen image is amazing. Regardless of whether you are doing word processing (yes its big enough to do actual word processing and other business functions easily) or watching a video, the images are sharp and clear. But what amazed me even more was the book and magazine reading experience, the size made reading these materials easy. The screen is about the same size as my 15 in MacBook Pro, but a lot sharper. I know that Apple says this is not a lap top replacement, but honestly I think it will work just fine for 90% of my needs. Really happy with it, and the extremely long life of the batter, at least 10 hours.

This device is a media consumer's joy. Its large, bright, screen, with awesome contrast will make media look wonderful. It is also screamingly fast! Give iOS 4GB of RAM, and watch it fly. Productivity is also enhanced, with 2 apps side-by-side. Everything opens and scrolls/renders near instant. Even with many apps open, even with 2 side-by-side. Battery is great too. With moderate usage, I sometimes go a whole week without charging it. Moderate for me is about 3 hours a day using it actively, like taking notes, or watching Netflix The Apple pencil really rounds up the device, allowing for easy notes taking. Overall, I love the device. It is a great step towards unifying work and leisure, productivity and fun, on a light-weight, mobile device.

This is what I had been looking for. Finally an IPad that can replace my laptop. I tested out the Surface Book for about a week and ended up returning it for the iPad pro. The pen on this is significantly better than the surface pro with less lag and a nicer feel to it. I primarily use this to draw and to do my school work and it works wonderfully. My little brother uses the autoCAD app and he loves it also. It is surprisingly light weight and the screen is really sharp. The battery life is pretty great considering the size of the screen and I use it A LOT... Usually watch tons of YouTube videos or movies and I've never had an issue with low battery. Would chose this over the surface pro again any day of the week.

I have all of the iPads and apple phone and watch. I have not been dissatisfied yet and the iPad pro is no exception. I love the big screen. It's light weight and fast and has good sound. GO APPLE
