I bought a pair of HomePods 2 to connect to an Apple TV 4K after a friend was bragging about how incredible his were. I’m really dissapointed. I have a 7.1 Atmos Soundbar in another room and this is not a replacement for a surround sound system or even a soundbar. Apple has a spatial audio setting that is supposed to enable Dolby Atmos. This is nothing like Dolby Atmos. The sound distinctively comes from either sides and you are lacking a center when watching a movie. On the positive side, the bass is pretty good, sometime a little too much bass actually. Apple being Apple, there are no settings to adjust the audio frequencies, other than “reduce bass”. I really don’t understand people who rave about these; they must have never had a sound system connected to their TV, in which case, I could understand: the sound is louder, with more bass, but it remains a two-speaker system.

Best home speaker as long ad you are with team apple. Siri ecosystem is great and the best way to wake up is with your favorite song on your mind. Then asking siri to find your keys befor you go to work.

Apple’s second attempt with the Homepod has surprisingly drawn me in to purchase this item. The new Thermostat features as well as the updated firmware that allows Airplay is also a W. Siri is still lacking however but everything else makes up for it.

Very good with going into more detail about the weather than Google or Alexa but doesn’t pick up on speech as well like when you ask for spelling or definitions and it doesn’t announce reminders unlike Alexa.

It's great. I wish I had a place that I could use more smart home devices like locks, thermostat, blinds, etc. Works great for lights and Apple TV though.
