Bought this out of concerns with privacy issues with Amazon Alexa. Works extremely easy and better the more Apple products you have. Sound is great and setup is super, super easy. Only caveat is is that it runs on 802.11N not, AC or AX, but can still do 5ghz. Worth the price. I control all my Hue bulbs and other home devices and it works well. I love the fact that I can use it as a speakerphone for my iPhone and send messages, update my calendar, and more.

I am a casual listener of music, but fairly avid with podcasts. I have been pleased with the sound. It is better than I expected given the small size, but don't expect it to fill a room with sound. It is super simple to setup and I haven't had any issues with it losing connection to my WiFi network. I find that Siri works really well on the HomePod mini. Even with the sound up pretty loud, it responds very quickly to commands. It works great for making and receiving phone calls. If you are not an iPhone or iPad user, this would make sense to purchase though.

very happy with these, we have several for multi room music. with proper placement depending on the size of the room it is in these sound great. Additionally you can pair 2 for stereo in any given room. setup is quick and easy and if your home/ environment is mainly an apple eco system, every thing just works together. My favorite feature is the voice recognition so I can just tell it to play my playlist of choice, and it does and My wife can tell another to play her playlist of choice and it does... we have separate apple IDs/ accounts and some differing tastes in music, or we can choose to play something on all of them throughout the house.

The Apple HomePod Mini is an absolute game changer! This compact and stylish smart speaker packs a powerful punch with its impressive sound quality. The bass is deep and the vocals are crystal clear, making it perfect for listening to music, podcasts, or taking calls. Siri integration is seamless, allowing for hands-free control of your smart home devices and easy access to information and entertainment. The design is sleek and modern, and the size is perfect for any room in the house. What sets the HomePod Mini apart from the competition is its advanced audio processing technology. The speaker automatically adjusts the sound to match the room, ensuring optimal audio quality no matter where you are. And with Apple Music integration, you have access to over 70 million songs at your fingertips. In conclusion, the Apple HomePod Mini is a 5-star product in every aspect. I've been deep into the Apple ecosystem since my first iPod in the early 2000's. We have multiple Apple TV's, iPads, iPhones, 5 Homepod Minis and Airpods. We bought 2 of these to link them as a stereo pair in a room where we are using an Apple TV as our video source on an Epson projector and these were to provide our sound without being an eyesore. These 2 are nestled at the top of our sectional where the couch meets the wall and are barely visible due to the white matching our light grey sectional. Sound quality is good, but not very powerful. I wasn't expecting these to replace home theater speakers, rather just provide the same level as a built in TV speaker. We have 2 children and we find ourselves running these at max volume just to watch a TV show on Peacock. Aesthetics-very nice looking, small footprint. Functionality/Cool factor: We really enjoy being able to use Hey Siri for weather, creating timers, adding tasks to lists, playing movies etc. Very high marks in this category. Reliability: I bough this in July of 2021 and we just noticed that the left speaker of our stereo pair was not working, Had to take to Best Buy for repair. Luckily we are within our 1 year factory warranty period. I've never had an Apple product die on me, not once in 20 years. In summary, these are cool little speakers to play some music on. We have 4 in our downstairs and when people come over we are able to stream the same source to all of the speakers to get that immersive sound effect. Nice integration with the Apple TV for audio source although we do have to manually select them each time. Overall these are really cool speakers that are lacking only in the power category. I wish they hadn't discontinued the original Homepod

I got tired of Alexa's "by the way! advertising", among other things, and got lost trying to configure Google's whatever-they-are-calling-it-this-week voice activated service. Having a lot of Apple gear already, I decided to give HomeKit a try. I use HomeKit (now Apple Home) via HomeBridge in a Raspberry Pi to control a lot of devices that are not Home(kit) compatible. It runs fine; all the more reason I am pleased. I am VERY pleased with the build quality and appearance, and the ease of setup if you have an iPhone. Not sure how it would set up otherwise, but with an iPhone, and I presume with an iPad, setup is easy as falling off a log. The sound quality is good, but be advised: I am not using my HomePod Mini for music. Just voice activation, weather reports, and answering questions. Example: "Hey, Siri, what is 274 pound converted to kilograms?" My ONE cause for four stars rather than five: there is no means to keep Siri from being a bit verbose. I would like to say "Hey, Siri, turn on piano area floor lamps", and it just does it. Maybe with a little beep or double tone like Alexa does. Instead, Siri is a bit wordy at times, other times, either nothing, or "done!" (I am using the Irish male Siri voice.) If you are using Lutron for lighting, or are buying devices labeled "HomeKit Compatible", you are all set. If you are already dialed in to, say, a bunch of cloud-based devices, or, like me, a lot of Z-Wave and Zigbee items, HomeKit may not be for you unless you use something like HomeBridge or Home Assistant to join it up.

1st off, the sound from this little guy blew me away. It fills the master bedroom wonderfully. It is a little on the bassy side initially but can be adjusted in Music "Settings". The design is attractive and has a small footprint. Unending amount of functionality. A noticeable upgrade from the iPod speaker of old. Extremely easy to use, its all Siri driven voice commands.

It’s a good sounding speaker with voice activated controls. Rather loud too for its size. Also if you buy multiple units you can connect them which a cool, but expensive feature. If you are in the Apple ecosystem then I would recommend getting it if you are looking for a speaker. Lastly I like that it’s small so it can be discretely placed in whatever room you decide it to be in.

This is a decent little speaker from Apple. I bought two for my home (bedroom and office; living room already has a TV sound setup) and these little units synced effortlessly with my phone and AppleHomeKit setup. Pros: Aesthetically pleasing design Good sound quality Effortless setup Affordable price point (compared with regular HomePod, at least) Cons: Works best with Apple apps (good luck Spotify users) Siri is still a work in progress, so speaking commands will take some finesse Just another basic BT speaker for Android users

TL; DR: The HomePod is super easy to set up and use with your iPhone. It even sounds pretty good. A good value if you get it on sale. Setup: Take it out, plug it in, and use your iPhone to configure it. Yep, that's it. Takes like 10 seconds. In use: I'm an Apple Music subscriber, and using Siri to control it works *fairly* well. For some reason, Siri doesn't understand a request for Boston's "Hitch A Ride", but otherwise seems to do a good job of figuring out what I'm asking for. One gripe is that the HomePod is essentially a 'separate device' as far as Apple Music is concerned; it would be nice to have the option of seamlessly continuing a playlist or song that's playing on your phone on the HomePod - obviously, there's a manual way to do this by using the HomePod as an Airplay destination, but it would be even nicer if it were automatic/seamless. Sounds quality-wise, it's good but not amazing - I'd say it sounds as good as a Sonos One, but each has its own pluses/minuses. The HomePod sounds a little 'bassy' to me; the bass is good, well-controlled, and has some texture, but there's just a little too much of it. Mids and highs are fairly clear and well-defined. Gets pretty loud without distorting or vibrating, which is nice. However, my KEF LS50s in the other room aren't feeling threatened.

Such an impressive little device I ended up buying another one! Very practical to have a virtual assistant that is easy to use. I live in an apartment so although I don’t have the “smart home” of my dreams just yet, I can count on it to turn my lights on/off, play music pretty loud, set reminders, and I LOVE the intercom feature. Keeps me from yelling for dinner time LOL. Overall great product.

We wanted to ditch Amazon & remove Alexa from our house which meant switching to Home Assistant with Siri for voice control. We usually have Macbooks, iphones, apple watches or ipads around but for those times we dont, 2 HomePods have replaced the 10 Echo devices. With a single homepod on each level of the home were able to give voice commands from anywhere. These little things have a surprisingly big sound for their tiny form factor. Highs are crisp and lows are far fuller and more present than id expected. Theyre not going to rival our Sonos system but theyre a great entry level solution for multi room audio playback.

Best home speaker! So easy to setup and use. There are occasional connection issues. For example I’ll airplay Apple Music to it and it takes longer than expected for it to connect or it won’t connect at all. Siri is integrated and makes it easy to start home automation processes, play music, and manage personal needs (e.g. reminders, timers, calendar, etc.). And the price point is great!

Works well. The computer audio algorithm produces good sound for the convenient size. I have both the HomePod and the HomePod mini and suggest the mini for desk or counter where you aren’t trying to run full volume or full fidelity. This speaker still has crisp and clean sound, and good volume, but not as full as a larger speaker like the HomePod. I really like the intercom feature as well.

We had Alexa running our whole house. And then Bezos started overstepping in really weird ways, and we wanted him out. And now he is. Apple keeps our data private. We like it that way. The voice recognition is far better than Alexa. The only issue that we have is that this runs on the Matter protocol, which means that we had to replace all of our light bulbs in our house because HomePod does not work on regular SmartThings protocol, and there is no way to get it to work. Matter, or nothing. Which sucks. But it was worth it to keep Bezos from monitoring everything that is happening in our house.

It's been working great for the past few months. To bad Apple didn't release it sooner. The sound quality is actually decent for a small speaker. You can crank up the volume without distortion. I also added a second one, so now there's stereo sound in the room. I've linked it and tested it on our Apple tv, which is in another room. And that really improved the tv sound quality. But I prefer keeping the speakers in the kitchen, which is where we spend a lot of time. Overall, the Seri voice command has been working just fine - as expected. Transferring music from my iPhone to the speaker is a simple 'touch-n-go' process. But I haven't spent much time connecting it to the Home Kit app in order to control a couple of switches/lamps. They say it can be done, but I haven't pursued it yet. When I first installed the speakers there were a number of occasions when it lost a connection to our wifi network. That turned into a hassle getting it connected again (or simply resetting it does the trick). There were reports of similar occurrences about this on different Apple product forums a while ago, but since then there's been a software update. And the wifi signal in our house was improved by our service provider (router was replaced). While there's still an every-once-in-a- while wifi connection glitch, it generally resolves itself on its own within a few minutes. Overall, really good smart speaker at a decent price.
