I'm very impressed with the HomePod mini. Although it is disappointing that the larger HomePod is no longer available from Apple, this device is very capable, with sound quality outperforming bluetooth speakers twice the size or larger. This is my first experience with AirPlay and with a HomeKit assistant, and I am impressed with the ease of setup and use. Audio quality is very important to me. This is by far the best quality sound I have ever heard out of a 3-inch speaker. That said, where this speaker lacks is in high-end clarity. Esses, cymbals, etc. are a little bit fuzzy. Frequency range is amazing, with bass clear and even all the way into the lowest tones. Spoken word is very clear. The overall character of the sound is even. As a stereo pair the sound quality is better than our $300 soundbar/subwoofer or our $500 bluetooth speaker from another brand.

This is a great little speaker/smart device. Really good sound for such a small footprint. With Siri and Apple HomeKit integrated, it makes for a convenient voice-controlled home. If you use Apple products, everything is connected so you can easily set reminders, add calendar events, check the weather and news, and play music by voice. If you get two, you can set them up as a stereo pair for a well-rounded sound experience.

The quality and range obviously isn’t as awesome as the standard homepod, but pairing them up and strategically placing them around the house has definitely leveled up my streaming at home. Easy to pair up and use. Definitely recommend the mini for small spaces like a bedroom

This little speaker packs a punch. The sound is clear, great bass, and volume can get loud. My only complain is pairing the speaker. First, you need pair it with the iPhone app and then you link it to the Apple TV at home. You cannot ask the Apple TV to search for wireless Bluetooth speakers without having those speakers linked to your Apple account. I also attempted to look for Bluetooth speakers using my smart TV feature, but the tv would not read the Apple speaker as available. The same thing happened with my Galaxy Note, when I searched for Bluetooth speakers, no luck either. This is not a Bluetooth speaker that you can directly pair it with any device. However, if you have any iPhone playing music, just put it close by and the speaker will auto-sync and start playing the music from your iPhone. No setting, no buttons to push, any iPhone just 2 inches or so away from the speaker, and that is all it takes for the speaker to play whatever music you had in your iPhone.

The Apple HomePod Mini is a bit of a letdown from a company I’ve come to expect greatness from, especially as I’ve consolidated most of my gear into the Apple ecosystem. I had high hopes of using Siri as my go-to voice interface for home control, but this little speaker doesn’t quite deliver. It can be frustratingly slow and unresponsive at times, and too often, answers to my questions require me to pull out my iPhone to see the details—a clunky experience that feels half-baked. That said, it’s not all bad. The sound quality is solid for its size, making it a decent pick for music, and it handles basic home automation tasks—like controlling lights or locks—well enough. But for a company like Apple, “good enough” feels underwhelming. I can’t help but imagine how they could dominate this space with a HomePod that has a screen and some of that Apple Intelligence magic baked in. Maybe it’s coming soon.

This speaker sounds pretty good. It won’t replace proper bookshelf speakers for music. It’s nice for background music or podcasts. It like the highly responsive “hey Siri” feature. I can control lights and my Apple TV with just my voice comments.

So far so good. It’s perfect for my kitchen. Sound is good, and loud enough for me in the kitchen. It connected to my smart outlets, and switches with ease. It was easy to set up my kitchen with my TP link Tapo. I did try it in my shop and compared it to my JBL Charge 5 I have out there. It’s no where near loud enough for that, at full volume it’s about half as loud as the Charge 5. I was hoping that I could use one out there as connecting and playing music is easier than the Charge 5. I’m not sure if I want to spend the money to see if the regular one might do better for that.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the first-generation HomePod, and let me tell you, it was an absolute auditory delight! The sound quality was mind-blowing, immersing me in a world of rich, vibrant music like never before. Siri's voice recognition was spot-on, effortlessly following my every command. The sleek design added a touch of elegance to my living space, making it a centerpiece that garnered compliments from all who entered. If you're in search of a smart speaker that truly raises the bar, look no further than the HomePod. It's a five-star experience that will leave you craving more.

We have three HomePod minis in our home. The sound quality is great for for such a small speaker! The HomePod ps integrate well with the rest of our Apple devices. We can turn our Apple TV’s on or off with just a voice command. We can add items to our family shopping list, set an alarm or timer, add events to our calendars, and make calls or send text messages by just asking Siri. The homepods can recognize each person’s voice even in our home so they can send messages from the correct phone number or add events to the correct calendar. The intercom feature works great to make announcements to another room in the house rather than yell to somebody in another room. You can play music on every HomePod simultaneously so you can hear your music wherever you go in your house. Some of Siri’s answers to questions can be a bit off, and she sends answers to your phone more often that I would like, but overall I am very happy with our HomPod Minis.

The audio quality from the speaker itself is fantastic! Set-up was really easy, as expected. Apple even managed to do put in the cool display panel at the top of the unit. HomePod Mini plays really well if you live in an Apple world and that's about it unless your non-Apple device supports AirPlay 2. If you don't have an Apple device, don't bother looking at this one. I knocked a star off of my review for something that isn't the speaker's fault. I have Google Assistant devices scattered throughout the house and they work beautifully... there are a few things that Google still doesn't handle well, but I'd say that 90% of the time, the Google Assistant works perfectly, from doing quick searches to providing step-by-step instructions while cooking. I even had the Cortana Assistants in a couple rooms and it was perfectly functional 90% of the time as well. Siri on the otherhand is nowhere close to being as useful... try to do a web search, it will send it to your phone (unless I'm missing something), Siri doesn't appear to step by step instructions for recipes. There are a few other things that don't work quite the way they should... again, that's not a problem with the speaker and more how Siri works... it's not much better on the phone either... so nothing new.

Love the HomePod mini. I got it as a gift for my mom. Easy to use and sound is great for its size! I think it’s pretty loud no complaints on volume. Bluetooth is connectivity is smooth and Siri is pretty responsive. I just apple would allow connectivity to Spotify.

As an Apple fan, I was excited to get my hands on the HomePod mini. I have to say, I was not disappointed. The compact size makes it perfect for any room, and the sound quality is top-notch. I love being able to use Siri to control my smart home devices and set reminders, and the fact that I can stream my favorite music from Apple Music or Pandora is an added bonus. One thing to keep in mind is that the HomePod mini is only compatible with other Apple products, so it might not be the best fit for those who have a mixed ecosystem of devices. All in all, I'm really happy with my purchase and would highly recommend the HomePod mini to other Apple fans.

Great size, it fits almost anywhere, I currently have this one in my bathroom and it’s sound good. Just a couple of things I’ve noticed when I go to change the volume it sometimes disconnects. Not a very big issue.

Overall, a good product. The sound is noticeably better than what I’ve experienced of the less expensive Google and Alexa speakers. The design is great, as to be expected with Apple products. However, also to be expected with some Apple products, I feel the price is a little high for what you get. Sometimes Siri can be a little air-headed, but that’s not a problem with this product so much as with Siri, of course. On the other side of the tech fence, Amazon and Google seem to have the edge regarding the competence of their assistants. For example, I never had a problem with my Google Home speaker detecting which device I was talking to—an occasional problem with the Home Pod Mini. If you’re married to the Apple ecosystem, this is what I would recommend, hands down, although it may be one of the few choices you have for what it does. If you don’t care about Apple’s ecosystem, I might recommend trying one of the other ones until Apple catches up. As for me, I’m into Apple, so this is the best choice for me and a pleasant one overall.

Incredible sound from such a small device. Looks nice and is super easy to set up. Siri works well, seems to hear and understand what your saying even with music playing. We are using it in our kitchen and are thinking of purchasing another for other rooms.

Great speakers! I bought two of them and use them in my bedroom in Stereo. Set up is a breeze, and my Apple TV pocked them up easily. Only downfall, is that if you listen to music at night, make sure you disconnect them from your Apple TV as it will cause issues.

I have the main (larger) homepod and picked one of these up to put out in the garage. For the most part it works great. It's a true extension of the larger homepod. I especially like the intercom feature. The only complaint I have is it goes "wonky" every once in a while and requires a power cycle. What I mean by wonky is, if I say something like "Hey Siri, play some music" she will come back with garbled trash. I can't even understand her so I need to reset the mini. This actually happens multiple times a week and it gets frustrating because I use it to turn on and off features of my home. I am impressed with the sound, music sounds great. It's small enough to not be noticed but looks cool when you do notice it. It's possible I have a defective unit but I don't know because this is the only mini I own and this is the one I am doing the review on. Besides that one issue, everything else is great.
