    IMAC is an IFLOP!

Just purchased the entry level IMac and was excited to get it set up. Out of the box and 10 minutes later I was on! That was the high point of my experience. Trying to learn the OS was a little tough, but the computer issues made it an experience I will not soon forget. I started out simply downloading my CDs to ITunes....every 4 or 5th CD inserted would lock the computer up...Had to shut down and restart numerous times just to get the CDs to eject. Decided to do some work and signed on to my MLS and found that most of the features were not compatable, support says I need to download a compatibale version of Internet Explorer...Really? The machine locked up numerous times while trying different programs. The Mac experience gets better, I was told I needed to install Parallel Software to Run my PC version of Quickbooks (Mac version is &*%*%%*% and doesnt have all the features of the PC version) This was enough for me, its in the box and will be returned for an All In One HP tomorrow!

Comp was great until i need to run a program. yes the comp. is loaded with boot camp to run windows based programs but be prepared to spend another 150.00 on windows.. to go back and forth between OS snow leopard and win7 just a mere 4 minute transaction. Yes you will have no trouble with viruses because no one makes a program for mac.. the guy at best buy says I'm part of a small percent of people running into this problem. although I stand in a line of people with similar issues. As he clicks away on the windows based company computer . If you are the the market to rely on spending money buy a piece of fruit not a mac. Oh ya are you can go with parallels and spend 90.00 and need a virus ware so either way money spent never stops with the mac.

Screen Flicker, bring to apple store for replacement or refund, they said it will be repair for 3-5 days. I made a follow after 5 days they said that the part just came in and i will be getting a call the following day-waiting for it until next day i called apple after 3 transfer only to know that the parts is ordered and it will take 10 days. another wait..... i have invested in this LEMON machine just to be disappointed. Beware GUYS... this LEMON MACHINE has a common ISsue about the screen that i guess apple doesnt care to resolve it. ITS totally waste of money. there is a lot more of good brands with good performance machine for a cheaper price.

Two days after purchasing, the lower right quarter of the screen developed a yellow tint that would not go away. Obviously a mfg defect. Returned for refund. Further online research revealed this problem had plagued imacs all year. My purchase was a "discounted open box item", probably passed around as a return from person to person for months because of the defect. Hopefully Best Buy took that imac out of circulation instead of repackaging for the next guy looking for a discounted open box item.

This was my first ever Mac computer I have bought and it runs Windows 7 well, and I can tell you, I am never buying another Mac again. Apple raves how their iMac can do anything a Windows PC can do and more, after, blah blah blah, not true. Windows 7 can do MUCH more than OS X can and OS X is lacking in features built into Windows 7, don't bother with this, Windows 7 is the way to go.
