fast and solid build, with one major flaw.

Since everyone is happy with the cons, and it would be most useful only if I spend my valuable time explaining the flaw, and warn other fellow users from getting a defective unit, I'll consider myself accomplished of why I'm here writing this comment for. The machine itself is great in one word. You absolutely get stunned every time you look at the quality. But, it has one major flaw. The display on it is affected by a yellow/brown tinge/shade. The top left part of the screen image will be vivid and normal while the bottom right corner will remain yellowish and warm. Between the Top Left corner and Bottom Right corner, the color shift happens so gradually that many untrained eyes and regular consumers won't notice it at a glance. But for those of us who edit photos, and has anything to do with using the display as the main source, this just wouldn't cut it. I do understand some people might find it OK to live with and some others may not even notice it, personally I believe, its our right to expect a quality material that is free of defects when we buy a brand new unit and I absolutely wonder where Apple's quality control has gone. Its even more disturbing to know that Apple isn't helping the affected crowd. ( not a small number by any means ). Apple has offered display replacements and its known that this doesn't solve the issue as well. It has also been found that the ATI Graphic chip is not at fault either. And, yes believe me when i say this, after a couple of display replacements Apple Support claims that the display defect is well under tolerable level for them, so try to live with it and there isn't anything they can do to help you any further. Seriously ? Is this why I paid $1200 ( base model ) for a brand new unit? to get it repaired, and repaired not well to correct the issue and be left out in the middle of nowhere. Luckily I was able to return my unit for a full refund, since I was within the return time frame. I do love Apple products a lot but not a fan boy by any means. But anyway, I just have to call this one a BAD APPLE. P.S - I also went through 2 replacement units before writing this comment ( bought it on Best Buy, but if Apple store sold units doens't have this issue kindly let me know fellow tech users or mod / team ). I am still willing to give another try. If there is anyone here who knows how to address this problem or to get a defect free unit, please let me know. And those others who are thinking about buying an iMac, please watch out for the defect and I wish you a good luck to purchase a error free unit.

    don't have huge expectations

I was a mac user 10 years ago. My wife got me to use PCs. I convinced her to buy the imac. We have had issue after issue after issue. This was supposed to be the easiest computer to use. "It thinks like we do" I say no way. All my PCs were better than this. From the moment we opened the box, a crack in the screen. It wouldn't connect to the wireless printer, spent an hour on the phone with someone, got it to work just so that the next day it wouldn't connect again. My iphone 4 wouldn't sync. Spent another 20 minutes to talk to someone and 20 min to fix the problem. It has been their is a problem fix it and then look how easy it is.....seems a little backwards. I expected much much more. It was supposed to be an easy transition. We are getting there and haven't given up but don't expect miracles. By the way friends of ours bought one days before we did, same model and they had similar problems. But it looks great.
