The ipad seemed the most versitile and easy to use(this was my first tablet). Then I had to choose which model ipad to go with. The different models had varying features, and sorting through that while balancing against price was a little daunting. In the end, there's no bad choice with the new iPads, it just comes down to how much you're looking to spend.
