It should last him through elementary and possibly middle school. He had been playing on mine for a few years so there was no instruction needed. It is easy to put limits on it so he can’t play certain games or download apps that are for older kids.

I prefer the interface, and the long lasting battery. I also like that there are never issues with any apps that you download. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. I decided I didn’t need the iPad Pro and for $400 this gives me everything I need. I knocked off one star only because the speakers aren’t great. That’s one thing I liked about the pro but didn’t want to spend an extra $300 just for better speakers. If I need louder crisper audio I can always use headphones or a Bluetooth speaker but it’s an inconvenience.

I plan on using this as my travel computer. Pair it up with a keyboard and the pencil and you're all set. I'm sure newer and faster models are around the corner but at a way higher price. Do you really need more memory or speed for the web or emails at a much higher cost.
