The iPad does not work like I thought it would. It’s harder to sink to my iPhone and iPhone, than I thought it should be.

An Actual Reasonably Priced Apple Product

It's no secret that Apple rules the tablet market. The iPad is the crown jewel and with this iteration of their product, Apple has managed to strike a delicate balance between price, features, and functionality. This iPad is mid-sized and is not too heavy in the hands compared to the larger iPad Pro's. It is by no means the fastest iPad available but that does not mean it's slow by any means. In fact, its remarkably fast, responsive and can play any game you throw at it with ease. If you've ever used an Apple product (and there's a good chance you have), use of this device will come naturally. The colors on the screen are fantastic and viewing movies or browsing the web is great. The speakers are very good for a tablet but they aren't going to blow you away. Battery life is superb, easily lasting 8-10 hours of continuous usage when browsing apps or using streaming apps on Wifi. Please note if you or your child plays intensive games, battery life will be considerably shorter. However, charging the iPad is relatively quick, around 3 hours from a completely dead battery. This iPad also supports for the first generation Apple Pencil, so do not buy the new, more expensive pencil if you are planning on bundling these items in your purchase. I cannot comment on functionality regarding the pencil as I have never used it and did not buy it with the intention of using this feature. But, having the ability to do so is a nice addition. For the price, you are getting far than you are actually paying for. Overall this is a great entry level iPad that is perfect for a young child, student, or a person in your life that wants something simple to use.

I took advantage of a trade-in deal to upgrade my iPad Air for more memory and a better processor. I was glad I did as the storage capacity of this one is the perfect size for my needs since I use iCloud to store most of my pictures and files, this allows me to have apps for myself and my kids and stuff I use often enough I don’t want to have to download all the time with a comfortable amount of room to spare so I don’t have to delete things if I want to download something new. This is my 3rd iPad, I also had the 1st Generation and I love them, they just work like they are supposed to as long as you update them (which you can now do automatically). If you have other Apple devices they are so easy to pair. The ease of use is amazing, our kids have cheaper tablets of another brand that we have trouble with all of the time and we have even had to replace after a year, but not our iPads we have only ever upgraded them when specs were a significant step up and a deal came along. When upgrading, it is as easy as logging in to iCloud during the setup process and your new device is setup just like your old one with all of your apps and content. If you can afford the price differential, it will save you so much frustration and the hassle of frequent replacement. Plus, the technology is way better and they are so intuitive that our kids have all been able to figure out how to operate one at age one on their own. Apple does also have good parental controls that can be set up on their devices.

Holiday discounts are making this one of the best values on an Apple product I’ve seen in a while! 32G is fine when you can take advantage of the iCloud. It was a short time ago that it was at 16G, which was tight. If you see a super deal on 128G, go for it, but for the price this is a great item. Fast processor, great screen, perfect size and weight. Works with all the stands and cases out there.

This iPad is awesome. I’m an artist and I can sketch or write any time, anywhere when an idea comes to me, without the burden of taking with me paper and pencils. It’s great for all the things you do in a laptop but is small and fits anywhere. The tech qualities are very good, the camera works wonders . Before, when I was commissioned a portrait, I was using my iPhone to work from the picture I took and it was difficult for the small screen. Now is way better and the resolution of the camera is very good. The price is affordable, so I got more for the money. I get internet access through the hotspot and it works well. The pen is fantastic once you get use to it. I downloaded all apps I needed perfectly well. Easy to use and very practical. I had before an iPad Air 2 that I liked a lot but this one is way better for all the new options.

I purchased a 10.5 iPad Pro for work and this 2018 iPad was a gift for my son. If I had to purchase a new tablet between the two iPads right now I would be hard pressed to justify the cost difference for the horse power and screen difference you get with the pro. Unless I really put the pro through it’s passes I don’t see a difference. With all that said this is a fantastic tablet and worth every penny. It’s even better when using the pencil. My son uses the tablet for school work and drawing and it works flawlessly. If your debating between this tablet and the pro I would pick this one up or/and wait for the pro update. I’m typing this all on my Pro as well.

Long story short, I ended up attending a very important event and wanted to take notes for it. I was always looking to take virtual notes like the surface pro but the lack of sync hassle free and iPhone to Mac laptop ecosystem just never worked out. Not to mention my surface would also crap out multiple times and was very irritating. Ended up pulling the trigger for $299 for this iPad and grabbed an Apple pencil while I was at it. Throw in a Folio case and my goodness! For $500, the most power packed super fast easy running, writing, journaling, syncing, device to have. Hands down. Took 50 pages+ of notes. No issues. Get the app "GoodNotes" for $8. You won't regret it one bit.

This iPad is very good. It’s good for all the things you do in a laptop but is small and fits anywhere. This is a great entry level at a very affordable price. I didn't want to spend $700/$800 on the new 11” iPad Pro when this one was $245 and will give you a very similar experience. I would recommend this iPad to anyone who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on an iPad, latest processor/features than comes in the iPad Pro line.

When Apple came out with the 2017 model iPad at a reasonable price, it was enough to convince me to buy it. I thought it was great, but I always wished it had support for the Apple Pencil. I bought a passive stylus that was actually quite good, but it wasn't the Pencil. So, when the 2018 model came out and included support for the Pencil, I was back again! I took the plunge and bought the new model, as well as the Pencil. In short? I love it! Should you go out and buy this new model and get the Pencil? That depends. I was interested in doing a lot more handwriting, and maybe a little drawing. For handwriting, you can get results almost as good as the Pencil by using a good passive stylus such as the Adonit Jot, together with the great app Goodnotes 4. If all you do is handwriting, I'm not sure it would be worth it to spend the money for the new iPad and Pencil. If, however, your iPad is a couple generations old or you want to do some serious digital drawing, then this is a great option at a much better price than you'd get buying the iPad Pro. The iPad 2018 sports the A10 processor, which is just a bit slower than the A10X in the Pro, but you really won't notice the difference. Also, don't be swayed by those who act like the non-laminated screen is a deal-breaker. It isn't. Yes, a laminated screen is definitely better, but it's not worth spending hundreds more. And unless you're a serious artist, you probably won't miss the real time color calibrations of the iPad Pro. If that matters to you, you probably need to buy the Pro anyway. I think Apple has given us a fantastic tablet at a price that makes sense. Those who criticize Apple's use of the older form factor seem to miss the fact that this is the very reason why it's available at such a good price. This strategy got me to buy, and if they keep this up, I plan to be an iPad customer for years to come!

I'm not going to go over features really. The main thing you need to know is this thing has more power than most android tablets out there. Yet its priced in such a manner that makes it seem inferior. Due to application compatibility i chose the ipad over other competitior offerings, even the more expensive ones simply due to the fact my needs aren't that crazy. On top of that, this processor is more than enough to get me through everything i need to do, as well as lasting for a few years without an issue. Speaking of which, the only issue i've run across is the gesture learning curve. If you come from android and have never used an iphone it can be a pain at first but you'll be fine after the first few days. Also, don't let the specs fool you. 2gb of ram is plenty of multitasking. Or at least, i'm able to have safari, a video, reddit and a chat app open at the same time on screen without issue. If anything the only limitation is the 32gb of storage. which mine is about 75% full--only after intalling my usual suite of games, and apps. when you first get the tablet it has about 10gb in use, which about half of it is apps you can uninstall, so theres that. The 128gb model might be better for most people in the long run.

I bought this 9.7 iPad to replace my first generation iPad mini. Big upgrade in speed & performance, screen size and battery life with A10 chip. I use it mainly for internet searches, email, FB and such, and it more than meets my needs. 32 gb storage works for me but must be taken into consideration for those who use their iPad for videos, still images, work or school projects, etc. Purchase overall a great product.

This iPad satisfies most of the users' needs. It is fast, smooth, easy to use, can be paired with Apple Pen and Apple Keyboard. The biggest difference to me with this iPad and the iPad Pro is their display. One of them renders faster, making the animations look smoother. However, if you were an owner of a previous iPads and you were satisfied with them, there is no need to make a leap to iPad Pro; iPad Pro should be bought by the ones who actually use it for art/work, or serious tasks. The rest who play Hay Day, FarmVille, etc., and use iPad for basic tasks like viewing simple documents, browsing and emails should get the new iPad. Price is a big difference here; you can buy two iPads or one iPad Pro. That does not necessarily mean iPad Pro is twice better than iPad; their purposes are different.

After years of abuse and replaced screen, my daughter needed an upgrade from her iPad mini 2. The education class iPad was perfect. Super powerful processor, great screen, sound, weight, cool bronzed gold color and pencil support. Compared to my pro she is not missing a whole lot for half the price. Very happy. Otterbox HIGHLY suggested.

Had my iPad mini for several years and it was great, tho the amount of memory eventually ran out. I was just going to buy another mini with ore memory, but due to price went with this instead. Love the larger screen and faster speed. Still small enough to fit in my purse. So glad I went with this model. Like the option of the pen, too.

It was time for a new tablet, I was still using a gen 2 until I bought one. Unit is much lighter, smaller and 3x as fast. The last time I bought an iPAD they were expensive, so for $329, I am more than pleased with my purchase. I'll be getting the pen soon.

We've had a total of 10 iPads in our family from the first iPad, iPad 2, iPad Minis, iPad Pro and this Christmas iPad 9.7s were the easy choice to put under everyones tree. They look good, they feel good and work great. The screen, the processor, lighter weight and thinner than previous models. Of course, the only place to buy the latest Apple iPads is BestBuy and I'll tell you why, any time there was something on my list of things to get BestBuy has been my go to store. Whether online or my nearby store that's where I go. If they don't have the lowest price they will match the lowest price. I'm so glad these iPads were in stock when I needed them because I made everybody happy and that makes me happy. I would recommend these iPads to anyone looking to buy one and I recommend BestBuy as the best place to get them. Did I mention Price, yeah!

I have had multiple iPads over the years and have always found them to be a bit overpriced until this release. I bought it as a Black Friday gift for my mother in law for $250 which felt like theft for how good a value it is. $329 is totally reasonable at full price. Build quality: superior than any other tablet at this price range in the market. Will last for years if it’s anything like other iPads. Speed: lighting fast, good luck finding comparable speed for the price. Screen: only knock on the device is screen resolution - it’s not as good as some other devices in this price range but it’s still more than good enough Battery life is great and the weight is reasonable. Highly recommend for anyone and it makes for a fantastic gift.
