    Perfect size iPad for me

    |
    Posted .

Originally, I had plans to purchase the iPad Pro, but holding it along side the iPad Air 2, I decided it was too big. By itself, it would "ok", but you have to consider the addition of a case. The Pro weighs about 1.5 lbs, while the Air 2 is about 0.9 lbs. Adding a case like Otter Box Defender would add 1 lb, while a Lifeproof Nuud case added less than 0.5 lbs. Anything else would add significant weight. Since I recently purchased a 13" MacBook Pro that weighs about 2.5 lbs, I decided the iPad Air 2 was perfect for my needs.

Love the thumb print ID feature!

I found the IPad Air 2 to be worth the investment over the IPad Air just because of the Thumb Print ID Feature. It has spoiled me. Also - picture quality and Video Resolution is phenomenal!

I always liked Apple products for their excellent finish and features . Noteworthy is the quality of their display. This IPad Air2 with 128Gb stays true to Apple brand quality. Bought this for my Sister and she loves using it and she is using it as primary device for work and having fun .

    Great Investment

The Ipad Air 2 is much faster than our old Ipad gen3 and the 128 GB storage is great for pictures and music. The LTE enables us to take it anywhere and talk to family and friends anywhere anytime. Use it more than the PC now with all the apps that can be installed on it.

I've owned many versions of the Apple iPad and it has become a part of my every day life. There is not much improvement from this version to the previous version but I still love it!

85% of my iPad useage is for aviation. This air 2 replaced my iPad 2. The difference is remarkable. The speed for my Garmin Pilot, ads-b, and resolution is very advanced. The memory is outstanding.

Original Air owner, the Air 2 is very good

    Posted .

If you don't own an iPad or own any version other than the first Air, then this is a good choice. If you do own the first Air, then probably not worth the upgrade. The Air 2 is fast, great battery life, outstanding app support, very thin & light.

    My first tablet!

    |
    Posted .

I have 2 Macs - a laptop & a mini. I decided that I wanted a tablet. First I had to decide on a Windows-based or an Android or an iPad. I spent hours on the internet researching the different types of tablets. I ruled out the Windows-based tablets because I don't like the Windows 8 user interface & very few apps are available for the Windows-based tablets. So, then I had to decide between an Android or an Apple. I have an Android smartphone so an Android-based tablet would be familiar to me. I wavered back & forth between an Android tablet or an Apple tablet. Each time I thought that I had made up my mind only to change it again! Finally, I made up my mind! I decided on an iPad. But then I had to decide between a mini 3 & an Air 2. I preferred the Air 2 because one of the things I want to do with it is use it as a GPS in my car. The bigger screen of the Air 2 would show more with less scrolling up & down & in & out. There were a couple of factors that made my final decision. (1) I already have 2 Macs so it would be easy to synchronize stuff between the devices. (2) When Android comes out with an update, it takes forever to receive it. Some phones & tablets get the update before others! The "current" update on my phone came out in December 2014. The ACTUAL current version came out in April 2015. So, my phone is almost a year out of date! I don't like that. When a new version of iOS comes out, it's available to all immediately!

Best iPad to date and beats all my expectations!

I've been hanging on to my third-generation iPad for a while now and waiting for the iPad to upgrade too. This one was it! Ever since the fingerprint touch sensor came out with the iPhone 5s, you instinctively wanted to unlock your iPad with your finger or thumb, now you can. But it's not just the new sensor, this is the fastest, most powerful and yet thinnest iPad made to date. Switching between multiple apps is a breeze with the new A8X processor and 2GB of RAM and this iPad has the best gaming experience of any tablet on the market. Now it is up to the developers to push this powerful piece of hardware to it's limits. If you have been waiting for the next iPad to come out or the next best tablet on the market, your wait is over. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a tablet.

    Its an IPAD. It Rocks!

I don't think we really need reviews any longer for IPADS, we all know they are excellent. Pros: Excellent battery life. Even with Cellular on. Screen is very responsive and for me (as I am a bigger guy with big hands) it is easy for me to navigate almost all typing functions. Screen resolution is superb. Cons: My one complaint with almost all Apple products is it is too "limiting." There are MANY video formats out there. It is ridiculous for Apple to only limit playback to a couple. (.mp4, m4a, .mov, and a select few others...). I also own and use the Samsung Galaxy Tab S. (pardon me, I *think* that's the newest model. Sorry if I am wrong. I do not have it here with me). And I love that tablet also. The Samsung plays almost any/all audio and video formats. In my opinion, in this day and age, it is very frustrating to "limit" a devices capability to playback or allow certain functions. Just my opinion. None-the-less, its a spectacular product. I would HIGHLY recommend the IPAD.

    Another Excellent Generation

I upgraded to the iPad Air 2 from an iPad retina, and I'm so glad that I did. The Air 2 is significantly lighter, which is the main thing I wanted. It's really portable and convenient to keep on hand for work stuff, as well as leisure. I also really appreciate the boost in storage capacity - 128GB on this tiny little thing is great. Only thing I'm still not entirely happy about is the SIM card situation. I think the Apple SIM is a great addition, but: (1) It doesn't work with Verizon, so if you purchase the Air 2 through anyone other than a Verizon store or an Apple store (where you can request that they swap out the Apple SIM for a Verizon one as you're making your purchase), you end up having go to the Verizon store to get a compatible SIM. I'll note that it's free, so long as you've got the receipt for your Air 2, but it's rather inconvenient. (2) If you choose a data plan through AT&T, the Apple SIM "locks" on AT&T, and won't let you switch to a data plan on any other carrier. Functionally, it doesn't do much in the way of increasing flexibility in choice of data carrier. That's not Apple's fault, though - blame the carriers. Just know that the Apple SIM isn't quite as universal as we might have hoped for the time being. That aside, I'm very happy with the Air 2 and would recommend it to anyone.

    So convenient ...

I bought my first iPad from BestBuy about 4 years ago. An iPad 2, 32GB, WiFI only. It worked fine but I was always running out of room. Also was limited to using it only where WiFi was available. BestBuy offered a great trade-in for my old iPad 2. I decided to get the largest storage available this time. Also added cellular. I'm very happy with this iPad Air 2. Very fast, display is noticeably better, great battery life and quicker battery charging. The 4G speed is really fast. Most places I can get 22-24MB download speeds from speedtest.net. I rarely use my desktop computer anymore.

I waited a long time to save up enough money to buy this 128 gig iPad air. It's turned out to be everything I thought it would be. I am glad I purchased the two-year Apple plan with it. I've never had an Apple product before and was completely unfamiliar with how the tablet operated. I've called them several times with questions – – the most recent call was to learn how to download a movie. I have yet to encounter anything less than stellar customer service. Each time I've called within two minutes I am speaking with a person. It's been a couple of weeks since I purchased the iPad and now I rarely pick up my laptop to do anything. it's a great product. I use it for Internet browsing, email, watching videos, reading books and newspapers, listening to music and of course I play a few games.

Best bang for the buck for an iPad!

I highly recommend the iPad Air 2 (with Cellular). For just $10 extra a month I was able to add this to my AT&T Family Share plan. Contemplating the iPad Pro and this model, I'm really glad I went with the iPad Air 2 as it delivers great performance while doing everything I want. And what's more, Best Buy's great price promotion allowed me to get it for less than half of the price of the iPad Pro.

Minor but Great Changes from Prior Versions

    |
    Posted .

I have been a dedicated Apple fan since I received my first iPhone (3rd Generation). Love the OS and ease of use. I have had iPads since the 2nd Generation and have actually upgraded to the newest versions as they have came out. After upgrading to the iPhone 6 - I was hooked on the faster processor speed and the fingerprint sensor. When I heard about the iPad Air 2 - I decided to upgrade even though I still loved my iPad Air. The differences are minimal overall - you wouldn't necessarily even be able to tell the difference unless you have them right next to one another. And then it is a slight difference in thickness and the home button with the sensor. As with the iPhone 6 - the most impressive functionality increase is the processor and the touch sensor. It is nice to have the ease of keeping my iPad secure and still be able to easily log in and make purchases. My only complaint at this point is the lack of accessories specifically for this model. Cases are hard to come by and I've found that the regular Air cases do not fit the device the greatest. Otherwise am impressed with the device.

You get what you pay for

I bought the 128GB iPad Air 2 as a Christmas present for my wife. I make my living in technology (been a software developer and architect for over 30 years) but my wife isn't a programmer. The iPad simply WORKS. Options are easier to find. Sure, an Android tablet will be cheaper but it will also be more difficult to set up or change as every developer has 'their way' of doing things and the Google Play store doesn't check the applications offered for sale in there NEARLY as much as Apple vets the apps through THEIR store. Most apps seem to come out for iOS before Android anyway. The magnetic clip for the 'smart cover' is good and solid - works like a charm. Getting connected and adding the iPad to my existing T-Mobile account was a breeze. Setting up other software (like OneDrive for cloud storage, Office for iPad, etc) was just as easy. It's fast. It's light. It works. You get what you pay for (and in this case you ARE paying a premium - I also have an Amazon Kindle Fire HD - much cheaper and still 'good' but a lot of compromises in many areas).

    Great new iPad

    |
    Posted .

I upgraded from an iPad 2 to an Air 2 after almost 5 years of flawless performance from the iPad 2. What I notice most in the upgrade is an increase in speed--everything loads and executes much faster-- and a lighter device. The difference in weight is really noticeable. The Air 2 is much easier to hold and doesn't tire my hands as much as the older and heavier iPad 2. The only complaint I have with the Air 2 is the new screen. My Bamboo stylus drags across the new screen and drawing programs sometimes skip as a result. This was a major drawback since I use my iPad for art work and note taking. I purchased a Pencil 53 and this stylus works much better but still skips on occasion, even when it is paired as a smart stylus in a specific programs. The Pencil 53 works beautifully with Paper but has some problems ( smears rather than erases, especially in Procreate) and skips with other programs it pairs with. I attribute this to the new screen technology in the Air 2 and hopefully it will improve with time as more 3rd party developers as well as Apple respond to these glitches. If you use only your fingers on the screen it works beautifully.

iPad Air 2 met our expectations

We've been looking into buying an iPad for quite some time. We finally "took the plunge" and purchased the 128GB Wifi + cellular iPad Air 2 on sale at a great price at Best Buy. We've spent the past month exploring the things we can do with it. It is a great portable media device. My wife especially appreciates using it in the kitchen while preparing a meal using recipes she found while browsing online. She also likes using it to watch Netflix while on the treadmill. While we haven't activated the device on our cell phone plan, it's nice to know we have the cellular data capability when we need it.

    The evolution of a classic

    |
    Posted .

From the beginning, I loved its weight and size. Not that my iPad 4 was either too heavey or bulky, but Apple managed to shrink it to this piece of tech. Then to the device itself: great response, screen clarity, touch secren response. The response time, to someone not absolutely techincal as myself, seems to be faster than my previous iPad. The edges have also been improved, being smaller and adding to a smaller iPad. All in all, a great evolution to something that already seemed excellent. A must
