I'm satisfied with the iPad. Although I have not yet had the time to use it more frequently, I am certainly satisfied with the product so far.

    Awesome Tablet

I've used the iPad 2, which is a great tablet, but Apple improved it. As with any Apple product, it's easy to use & reliable. This is definitely lighter & faster. The battery life has improved too. I use it alot & only need to charge it every 3 days or so. I use this for recreational only (Netflix, Facebook, Chive, etc) so I don't have the complaints others do about office software. In my opinion, this is a great tablet. I wish it was a hundred bucks cheaper, but you pay for quality. No regret's on this purchase.

I've had a few generations of iPad and a Surface 2. This is a new high point for tablets. It's light enough to be comfortable holding in 1 hand, it's fast enough to run apps without issues, and the screen is beautiful. I wish it had the fingerprint scanner, but otherwise the iPad Air is as good as it gets right now, which is very impressive.

I got this for Christmas, upgrading from an iPad 2. I loved the iPad 2, but the Air is amazing. It is so fast, so much lighter and feels well made and a good quality. The screen resolution is so crisp and clear. The tablet is so easy to use and navigate. It charges fast with the lightening cable and maintains a good long charge. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good, quality tablet. You can't go wrong with an iPad.

I use an Apple iPad about 6 to 8 hours a day. I own an iPad 2 and 3 and now this new iPad Air version. My main reasons for updating were that I literally fill up my 64 GIG iPad every day or two with videos and photos that I shoot. Having this larger version at 128 GIG allows me to work longer and add more to my iPad. In addition this new version is much lighter and easier to use all day long. Even though the battery is smaller in capacity than my iPad 3 the battery life is longer and it is very noticeable. This is because the faster A7 CPU and the motion chip actually use less power.

It's a very big disappointment, not a worthy product. I am not sure why people are so mad about Apple products. Apple needs to catch up with current day technologies and provide more user friendly options

Great portable component, not a laptop replacement

The battle is ongoing. First it was the Galaxy product and now the battle ensues between Microsoft's Surface and the iPad. What I like about it: This iteration offers speed, portability, crisp screen resolution, great sound. The edge goes to Apple with its extensive iTunes and App Store. It's about the apps. Seriously, what good is a tablet if you have nothing to do with it. There are so many powerful apps available exclusively to iPad that make it worth the investment. No other brand comes close. There is as of yet, no viable iPad killer. Why this model? For me, as one who has a laptop and desktop, this 16gb is the perfect size for me. I'm not storing any videos as I stream most of my videos from Comcast Xfinity On Demand (there's an app for that) and Amazon Prime (there's an app for that). There is also an app for Netflix and Hulu streaming. Moving on to music, iTunes allows you to listen to your music in the iTunes cloud without storing the music and taking up valuable storage space on your device. As a student, I downloaded productivity apps, education apps, magazines, books, games, word processing apps, spreadsheet apps, presentation apps. Pages, Keynote, and Numbers can read and be saved as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and they are available free with the device. If you save documents in iCloud, then you don't waste storage space on documents. While 16gb can fill up fast, if you're using this to replace your laptop, you may get discouraged at the limited memory size. That being said, the memory goes far. This model has less memory per dollar than its counterparts, but unless you're using it to download and store lots of video and music, this should not be a problem. I maxed out every slot with apps and still had room to spare. Honestly, I don't use half of the apps that I download regularly, so if I need space I can remove apps temporarily for space and redownload when ready. Who would need more space? The user who plans to use iPhoto in a high capacity RAW images. If you're planning on saving large amounts of video, photos, spreadsheets exclusively to the iPad, then you definitely need more storage. What I love about iCloud is that you don't have to download your video, photos, spreadsheets to the device to be able to work on them, and you can remove items from the device without permanent deletion. At one point, I would insist upon the 32 or 64 but with the iCloud technology it is no longer a pressing issue. Siri, the voice-activated personal assistant is also included. Siri has proven more useful than times past. I like the ability to speak to my iPad and have reminders set, music or video played, or applications opened. The biggest competition will be the iPad mini with Retina display, but size is personal preference.

I bought this as a gift for my mother who's almost 80 years of age. Her husband has a 4th generation iPad with a bulky case on it and it's on the heavy side. For the younger person, the 4th generation may not feel heavy, but for a lot of seniors, holding and carrying a couple of pounds (4th gen with case) can be taxing. At just 1 pound, the iPad Air feels like you're holding a popcorn ball. Since my stepfather has a monopoly on the 4th generation, I bought my mother the iPad Air so she doesn't have to climb the stairs to go to her desktop computer each time she wants to look something up on the net or to check her email. She loves it, and was really surprised by how light it is. It has superb WiFi range and speed, and 16GB is more than enough storage for a senior citizen. We also set up the iMessage app for her so she can get text messages on her iPad. She loves that because she has an antiquated cell phone with a small screen that doesn't display photographs very well. Pictures of her grandchildren come in beautifully on the iPad Air! My mother is extremely happy with the iPad Air and uses it daily and I'm thrilled that she's getting so much usage out of it. If you have a loved one that you're struggling to find the perfect gift for, pick up the iPad Air for them. You'll both be happy you did so.

It does what it advetised but, my Samsung Tab3 is more functional, easier to use and MUCH less expensive. I don't use the I pad air any more, Tab3 blows it away.
