    Beautifully built, the best table.

Design: This new iPad is so thin and light it’s amazing. It comes in weighing a little over 1lb. I upgraded from the iPad 3 and you can defiantly feel the difference. When reading with the iPad 3, after a few minutes my arms would be tired of holding the iPad up. With the new iPad Air, that is not the case anymore. I can read for much longer now and my arms don't feel tired. The unit is also easier to hold (much thinner than previous versions of the iPad) It’s built of high quality aluminum just like every other iPad is and constructed to last. Performance The new iPad air is fast! It has an A7 processor in it which is defiantly an upgrade from the previous iPads. The Wi-Fi is even quicker to connect and I notice I can achieve more of my potential in bandwidth speed using this iPad. The new front facing camera makes video chatting much better and the M7 chip makes editing and slow motion shooting fun and a breeze.

    Great device

I am currently using my Ipad Air to write this review. This is the best tablet by far in my opinion. Great resolution and does what a tablet should do. I have had a previous version and traded up which makes upgrading easier. The newer CPU is great. Other tablets you will find lag on loading websites and email. I have had several different manufacturers tablets. Get one of these and you will not be disappointed.

    Awesome technology

Torn between buying a laptop or an Ipad and decided on the Ipad air. Love the size & light weight. Did not come with a manual. The commands/features/options/keystrokes do not exactly match the mac book that I am used to - so there is a little of a learning curve. Not difficult though because you can google just about anything you need to know how to do. Flipping screens takes patience and a little getting used to. I would recommend purchasing the Logitech keyboard - much easier than using the onscreen keyboad. The single change I would have made was to purchase one with more memory.

    Tablet instead of laptop

Bought this for my mom who is 79 and not very computer literate. Hope to get her using this more than she used an 8 year old Dell desktop. The touch screen is very difficult for her but I bought a case with detachable keyboard and she likes that pretty well. The tablet is easy to use she likes not having to point and click the mouse which is great. The typing on the screen is more of a challenge for someone that is older and not used to it. Will be downloading games and crosswords for her. A great and cheaper computer than a laptop or desktop.

I own a nook, nook HD Plus, Kindle fire HD, and now an iPad Air . As much as I tried to make one of the Android devices my primary device--it just wasn't me. I like the familiarity of Apple OS. ie Learn how to use one Apple device and you can pretty much navigate and use all Apple devices. I also like the idea behind iCloud. Having stuff auto-magically available on all devices with little to no effort and technical knowledge is nice. I'm guessing I could get a similar experience with Android if I committed to a single vendor and ecosystem (ie Amazon, Google, or Samsung). However, all of these vendors tend to make me feel left behind 6 months after I purchase one of their products. Or worse, just abandon their products (B&N Nook?). Anyways.... Android fan boys may rage and pick apart this review; that's ok; I haven't abandoned my Android devices; they're just not my primary device anymore.

Does what it is meant to do very well

I've always been an Android person, but I got fed up with the inconsistency of it and constant crashes. iOS isn't as robust as Android, but it does what is supposed to do very well. Very easy to use, nice picture, solid construction, good sound, long battery. I am very happy with the product.

    New Ipad Air Is Awesome!

    |
    Posted .

I purchased the Ipad Air with much excitement and anticipation. I know there are comparable non-Apple options but the Ipad Air really offers so much enjoyment due to it's screen clarity, processor speed, and lightweight portability. I know I could have spent less on something similar but after having used various older and slower laptops, netbooks, and tablets, I felt it was time to try an Ipad! The price is well worth it for the true overall value you get from it. I have had an Itouch for years which I've always loved as well for it's ease of use and functionality.

An improvement to an outstanding tablet

I had an iPad 3 which I used less and less when I got an iPad mini. I happily gifted it to my nephew and family for their use. Their toddler loves it, too. The iPad mini is great but I did miss the much larger screen and Retina display for viewing my photos but not for anything else like reading. The iPad 3 got too heavy for reading for me because I will start a novel with the goal of finishing it hours later. The decrease in weight for the iPad Air is truly impressive and the speed of its processor is mind boggling. The Retina display is really great. I did not go for the iPad mini/Retina because I will be keeping my original iPad mini. Two iPads the same size, one with better features than the other, means one of them will not ever get used. The iPad Air is different enough that both find their uses in my life. It may even replace my 4 year old 11" Macbook Air. Color me extremely fortunate.

As Expected - High Apple Quality

    |
    Posted .

As expected, the iPad Air maintains the high quality that we've all come to expect from Apple. I gave my two year old iPad 3 with retina display to another family member and upgraded to the iPad Air. Same great resolution, but a lot lighter and narrower (while maintaining the same viewable screen size). The lesser weight is very noticeable and enjoyable. Also, I like the "lightening" cable connection as opposed to the quintisential 32-pin connector. Compared to my iPad 3, I really can't tell the difference in speed for my uses, which are mostly browser based (web surfing, etc.). Some of the other newer features (camera quality, etc.) I also haven't tested as they are not things I use a lot. Lots of aftermarket accessories available for the iPad Air making it much less expensive to get a screen protector, cover and other goodies. Overall, great upgrade.

    Designed to please.

Took me forever to finally get the iPad of my dreams, or so I thought *(I'll explain later). The iPad Air was a Christmas gift from my wife, and fortunately Best Buy lowered the price on Black Friday so she was able to grab it for me. I am a photographer, and I wanted an iPad to showcase my images in the capacity it deserves. With the light weight iPad Air, I can show off images to my clients and future clients with the best imagery at hand. It's more of a digital portfolio to say the least. Back to my comment of it not being what I dreamt of. It surpasses my expectations so much so that I may need to get a higher capacity version. This being my first iPad, we got the 16 gig version, and I'm loading it up pretty quickly. But none the less, it's an Apple product, and yes, it was designed to please with ease of use. I have now included it in the apple product Eco system. Great investment.

The iPad Air is great product!

The iPad Air is a great product. It is easy to setup and use, lightweight, and allows quick access to information. It's great for keeping up with your email (once synced), your calendar, etc. I like that one appleid allows syncing with all other apple devices. We have an earlier generation iPad in our home and I am not certain that the iPad Air really improved much beyond being thinner and more lightweight (but the iPad was already pretty good on that dimension anyway!). We are happy with the purchase. It's expensive but apple products last.

I have tried many tablets and I am very happy with the apple ipad. It was not easy to set up but I got through it with help. After that it was easy to navigate. The Best Buy technicians were very helpful since I am not that experienced on a computer. I would highly recommend it!!!

    Best ipad to date.

    |
    Posted .

I've own every model starting with the second generation of iPad. Most have been WiFi only, but their has been a few with the cellular antenna. All my iPads have been brought from Bestbuy. This by far in my opinion is the best iPad to date. The light weight alone to me is with the update from any of the previous models. I just use my iPad for personal use. I'm not a gamer at all. So if you are like me with your use of the iPad then you really won't see any difference between the new A7 chip inside the air, and the A6 chip of the 4th generation. The screen display is top notch, clear and just a pleasure to use. You can't go wrong with the IPadAir unless you buy it from some where else that is. Remember you get what you pay for. The only problem I have with the iPads and wish Apple would change is If there was a expendable memory SD card then by far the best tablet on the market.

I came from using an ipad 1. This ipad is blazing fast. I actually had to upgrade my internet service to match the speeds of this new ipad. I don't regret this. One thing I want to point out with this ipad which I absolutely love is the fact that the outside edges are skinnier so I can hold this ipad comfortably using both hands and type at the same time. This alone deserves 2 thumbs up!!

Everything its "cracked up" to be.

This ipad is everything I expected it to be. I am thouroughly enjoying it. I'm "fluent" in Apple so the device is extremely easy to use. I had originally purchased a Windows tablet because I was intrigued by the ability to run Microsoft Office. My excitement about this feature was short-lived because I found Windows 8 difficult to use, however, it was the lack of availability of apps that made me decide to return the Windows device and opt for an ipad despite its limitations. If I cant have everything I want in a tablet, I prefer an ipad. I'm enjoying it.

What you would expect from Apple

    |
    Posted .

I enjoy all apple products and this one does not disappoint. Compared to my old iPad this one is much thinner and the picture quality is great when watching movies. I got the 16 and would suggest getting more memory if you have a large iTunes collection as I do. I am almost out of memory but that one was on me not the iPad.

Light and thin with the same iOS

    |
    Posted .

Having gone through 1st gen iPad, 3rd gen iPad, and now the iPad Air (5th gen), I can say that the iPad Air is the most significant revision. If you are on a 1st or 2nd gen iPad (pre-retina iteration), then I would say it is due for an upgrade: the speed and screen quality is significant enough to justify the expense. However, if you already have a 3rd gen iPad (first iteration of the retina display), then don't waste your money. Unless you find the iPad heavy to use, the small update done for each iteration is negligible and can be lived without.

    Best tablet yet!

As other iPad junkies, I take my iPad pretty much everywhere with me. On trips, vacation, business meetings, boring family gatherings...lol. The iPad 2 design had a cool experience but the iPad Air is just "WOW"! The slim and sleek feel of the tablet is much improved along with the awesomeness of IOS 7. The best part is the much improved wifi connection capability and stability to hold the signal over many other tablets and its predecessors. I know that Apple with one day make this current gem of a "toy" obsolete one day in the near future, but like other apple product of the past 10 years, it will hold its value pretty well. I plan to keep this unit for years to come and make sure it gives me lots of usefulness of fun and informative days ahead. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that with the Retina Display, I actually wear my reading glasses a lot less!

    Best iPad Yet!

Excellent value for artists and photographers to not only show client work, but for editing with the pencil in numerous photo editing (including Adobe) apps. I purchased the Apple keyboard/cover and found it quite superior over after market keyboards (much more responsive and has a great tactile feel). Besides photography related uses, I have found the 12" Pro a pretty darn close replacement for my laptop. The primary holdback for replacing my macbook pro altogether with the iPad Pro is the lack of some corresponding IOS apps for some laptop programs. Definitely have recommended this to other pro photographers and artists that need the extra screen real estate and the speed of the new processor.
