Great If Upgrading From iPad1 or 2

    |
    Posted .

I upgraded to the iPad Air after having an iPad2 w/3G for about 3 years. What a significant improvement for weight, speed, power, features and my fav, the retina display. The first thing you notice is how light and thin the device is. For lying in bed or just relaxing in a chair or couch, this is great because your hands/wrists don't get tired from holding it. Apps launch really quick, and "overall speed of operations" has improved dramatically. Now that's in comparison to the 1st and 2nd iPads. Siri has improved to a point where I actually use it more often. Though its still not as fast or as intuitive as Google's voice assistant. Camera is pretty good. and that Retina Display looks sharp, and stunning. If you're on the go a lot, and want to enjoy faster speeds than all the slow and awful free wifi that's out there, splurge and get the 4G version. I've had 4G internet speeds that rival, and sometimes surpass my home wifi. My only complaint, and its a small one in my opinion, is the audio. The 2 speakers (a new configuration for the iPad Air) are located at the bottom of the device. And are adequate. However, since I look at a lot of video in "landscape mode", I thought it would be great if the device somehow defaults to another set of speakers at opposite ends of the device. Giving more stereo separation which would be great for watching movies. I've never owned the 3rd generation iPads, so I don't know how much of a step up the iPad Air is compared to them. But I can say, without question, upgrading from the iPad/iPad 2 to the iPad Air is a great move. And one you will NOT regret!

    First IPad and Love It!

    |
    Posted .

This is my first IPad. My husband bought the IPad Air with just the WiFi for me for Christmas 2013. In March 2014 I wanted to upgrade to the IPad Air WiFi plus Cellular data in case I went out of town and wanted to take it with me and to text friends and family members that did not have an IPhone or IPad. At first I was a little frustrated due to the use of a laptop and desk top for many years. Once I began navigating the different programs and learning how to use it I began to really like it. The only thing I don't like about it is that I still cannot text some that doesn't have an IPhone or IPad. I was misled by the sales rep that I would be to text anyone but that turned out not tobe the case. Other than that small issue, I really like the IPad Air.

    Love the Apple Ipad Air

Love the light weight, beautiful screen display. Change over from my IPad 2 was faultless. I expected the new operating system to be faster than the IPad 2, but I can't tell any difference. I never had a problem with operating speed/efficiency before, so it's not a big deal to me. I am pleased with the 4G LTE, did not choose a long term contract in order to get the reduced price. I like the freedom of using the data plan from AT&T when I choose, and not using it when I choose, which is seldom.

    The Best Keeps Getting Better

Now on third iPad and I've never looked back. Upgraded from #3 to Air and the speed difference is very noticeable. You pay more for the product, but it does what you need it to do when you need it. The choice of apps is seemingly unlimited and it's the standard for others to emulate.

    Disappointed consumer

Had my ipad 2 for two years and carry it with me everywhere. Love it. It gets heavy in my purse so I was looking for something lighter and faster and was leaning toward the ipad mini. My husband talked me into the Air. With the case in my purse it isn't any lighter than the ipad 2. Pictures are crisper and load faster. Content download doesn't seem any quicker. Uncomfortable to hold without in a case. Overall, I am disappointed that I invested the money in what I feel is a duplicate of what I already had. The AIr does have a few bells and whistles that my old one doesn't have, i.e., Siri. I wish I had saved my $700. If you don't already own an ipad I would recommend the Air but to replace a two-year old model is not worth the update.

    Overall great product

I been waiting for the bigger ipad to come out with the mini qualities such as smaller bezile and lighter weight. This one has it! BUT haha now feels so lite that I need to protect it. But who wouldn't these days. Spend $600 and let it loose?!? I don't think so. I bought a nice ballistic case which adds weight but I like it that way. It's better then the old ipad with a case of similar. Talk about heavy!! I think this the one you go with if your new to ipad world. Can't put it down sorta thing going. Does it all!!!

    Great Tablet

I upgraded my previous iPad (iPad 2) to the iPad Air and the faster processor and higher screen resolution are very nice. The iPad Air runs very fast from a processing standpoint and does everything else I need it to do. The apps available are nice as well. It was a great update and one that I'm glad that I made.

This is my second iPad and I'm pleased with the upgrade. I had the iPad 2 previously. I like the lighter weight and faster processor. Would love it though if it had flash play. Also wish you had more options for repeat appointments on the calendar (such as: repeat the 3rd Monday of every month) like I do on my desktop.

    1st iPad

    |

The turn around time from when you hit the power button to when you enter your password, which takes seconds, as well as the battery life is awesome. Plus purchasing cellular data is so easy. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because BestBuy listed it online for a lower price and when I went into a store to get the said price, management wouldn't approve it - even though it's on their website and still is.

My husband was surprised and delighted with the new iPad. It worked so well. He took it to Louisiana to help with the flood victims and it worked great. He used it to locate supplies and other things needed to help with repairs.

Finally a full sized iPad worth having!

    Posted .

I've been skirting the fence on full sized iPads since the first debut a few years ago. Got an iPad mini, and while the size was great, reading magazines, newspapers, etc was very taxing. When I saw the iPad air, I was hooked. The screen is the size of iPad mini's entire body, but it's slim enough and light enough for daily carry (I keep it in a messenger bag, so it's all good. I bought it via ATT's Next plan, which basically costs $30 a month plus data (only use the 250mb plan, since my iPhone has unlimited data), so basically it's "rent-to-own" with no Interest... best deal yet, and when the Air 2 comes out next year, I can trade up without losing any value on my current tablet.

    Great quality and speed

This is replacing my IPAD 2, and it is much faster and lighter. Also have an IPAD Mini I use for travel and with the IPAD Air being so lightweight rethinking the need for two. A great upgrade for IPAD. Battery life seems a lot stronger, don't hesitate to purchase!

iPad Air well worth the wait

    Posted .

I purchased the original iPad at Best Buy in April 2010. It was the best purchase I ever made. I have used it every day since at home and when I travel. The zero interest for 18 months always gets me back to Best Buy (as does the excellent customer service.) As it was time to finally upgrade the new iPad Air is an exciting new addition. It's so light and the retina display is amazing. I got the wifi & cellular again as I like the added flexibility it gives me if wifi is not available. The only trouble is I now like the iPad mini as well as. I may have to get it also. So perhaps the iPad Air wifi for home and the iPad mini wifi & cellular for travel is best.

I luv the iPad Air for its lighter weight and size

    Posted .

I traded my husband's iPad Generation 1 for the iPad Air. He inherited my iPad 2 and I now have the iPad Air. I carry mine around more and had been waiting for Christmas to gift myself the lighter and smaller iPad Air. What can I say, all the iPads are great. I don't watch video's so I skipped the Retina Display iPad, but the iPad Air was worth upgrading for me as I now have Retina with the lighter weight.

    It's an Air Pad

Thinner, lighter, smaller, and uses Micro charger. So be prepared to replace cover, car charger, etc. Am liking the Air Pad, but other than thinner, lighter, smaller, I am not seeing much difference or improvement over the iPad2. I did purchase the cellular version this time, which I hadn't had before.

This i-Pad was an excellent purchase. It is for my 70+ year old mother-in-law for her Christmas present. She has already learned how to "FaceTime" with her children and grandchildren spread all over the globe. Great price for the i-Pad.

Previous owner, this one is for a graduating grand

This one was for a grandson who is graduating. As a previous owner of two iPads it was a no brainer to purchase one more. I would like to see the app for iFind as a default app on all iPads and iPhones. Have used this feature and it is a must have.

Adding the cellular version to your data plan is so inexpensive now - makes it easy to have an Internet connection all the time without draining the battery on your cell phone to be in hot spot mode when you are not near WIFI.

This is the third iPad I've had and all have been great improvements over the last. Once I was shown the new way to access the .com key, a little happier about that small, but significant feature. Do not like using search engines such as google when I know the url. Great for email, web browsing and the Time Warner Cable app is awesome for catching up on shows.
