The Ipad mini does everything an ipad or ipad air does in a smaller package. The resolution is stunning, has a fast processor, and very portable.

The 16GB size is the most affordable and but you are limited how much you can. We got this for our son, so it works out well, he is not loading a lot of music or movies on the device. If you plan on loading a large amount of apps or keep photos, music, and video files on your device, I would suggest the 32 GB or 64 GB size. Over all a good product, the iPad Mini 2 was much less than the newer models, but perfect for what we use it for.

First let me start off my review by identifying that I'm a college student, technically astute, and a big user of all kinds of tech both iOS and Android. I started my tablet exposure with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 back a few years ago and I was mildy disappointed with the tablets performance, multi-tasking, and user interface. I was ultimately looking for alternatives to lugging my laptop around class to class etc. I switched to a Google Nexus (2013) and was greatly impressed with the upgraded power. The only big problem that typing on the screen was very difficult to do, the feedback on the tablet was not as great as one who would expect keyboard responsiveness. All that being said, here I am reviewing an iPad Mini 2. I was really really skeptical about buying an iPad, prestige doesn't come cheap (rim shot). I actually did buy the iPad for the ShotLister App which I use a lot as a film major. However, I really do have to recommend the iPad Mini 2 as a great all around tablet. I take notes on it in all my classes that's how comfortable using the screen keyboard is (the larger wider screen allows for the keys to be bigger than most 7" tablets) and I've used Bluetooth keyboards for my other two tablets. The functionality and multi-tasking is powerful easily able to switch between apps without the tablet locking up. All things you'd honestly expect from an Apple device. Great support from the App Store which is honestly my main complaint against Android the lack of app support and variety. I know it's not the highest DPI device out there but it's high resolution is still enough to get some great images paired with the retina display, it looks pretty no doubt. The only real complaints I have about the iPad Mini 2 is the sound which is the typical Apple under the device bullcrap. In addition be prepared to pay mad money for cases for your device in addition to any other apple peripherals you may need/want. Overall the iPad Mini 2 is a great tablet that will do what you want, when you want, and you'll easily get the hang of the simplicity of the iOS. If you like customizing and tinkering yes Android all the way, but most people just want to use their dang device and this device is for those people. If price is a concern than don't be lured into the hundreds more expensive Airs and iPad mini 3, this one is JUST a tad too high for what it offers but if you have the purse you won't be sorry.

I purchased the iPad mini with retina display to replace my long-in-the-tooth first generation iPad. I'm thrilled with this new gadget. The retina display means that the smaller screen size works just as well as the older/larger display; the resolution in iBooks (I do a lot of reading) is truly a delight and very easy on my eyes. What I really love about the mini is how easy it is to hold, compared to the older, larger model. My daughter recently got an iPad air — certainly an equally wonderful product — but I'm perfectly happy with the mini. If you do a lot of reading or otherwise use the device while sitting somewhere away from a table or podium, go with the mini. The size is perfect for holding.

Upgraded to Ipad mini with retina display from Ipad 2. The size and weight make it much easier to transport - but this was expected. Battery life if noticably better which I did not expect. Unfortunately, I downsized from 64GB (Ipad 2) to only 16GB (Ipad Mini) and quickly ran out of space. If you are going to spend the money, you might as well pay a little more for the 32GB or 64GB.

Much better than Galaxy tab. I brought a galaxy tab last year, the constomer experience is awful. It makes me feel that I would rather use my laptop. But ipad is more fluent, more user friendly, has a better qualty and of course much more apps!

Best buy provides a great service buy selling refurbished electronics. This gives folks the opportunity to purchase high dollar items at a discounted rate. I have had my iPad for about 6 months now and have had no issues. This is primarily used for work application, but periodically for personal use.

The IPad mini with retina display is a great peace of technology. It powerful, has great battery life, and a beautiful screen. If you can get past the sticker shock you won't be disappointed with it.

Tablet is good for anybody to use and get the hang of quickly. It has all the essential apps that any person needs and the tablet runs smoothly.

There is just no comparison to the quality of Apple products. My wife and I have the full-sized ipad and the kids have used them extensively over the last couple of years so we thought that it was time they get their own. The mini works great for our kids (5 and 8) because of the size. We also invested in the Survivor cases for them, which we also highly recommend. With some amazing holiday pricing on the ipad mini's (1 and 2) it just makes sense. Think of it this way, it is about the same as a 3DS XL, but much more useful in terms of apps, games, videos, and educational content. When you get Apple quality at around $200, why waste time with cheaper imitations that won't last.

Great tablet. We have the iPad 2 and between the three of us, it was like a royal rumble to get time using it. For my wife's bday I got her the mini and she love it. It lite and compact enough that she can carry it where every she goes.

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She loves it. Best buy staff was very helpful. Answered all my questions. Made me feel at ease when buying an expensive item. Best buy staff showed me accessories that would go well with iPad mini. Easy to use. No problems encountered. Packaged well.

My daughter wanted a tablet that she could use for both school and pleasure. It's small enough to fit safely in her backpack, and she has been able to use this tablet in class and to pair easily with her IPHONE. She can move documents between them and watch Netflix :-). What else could you ask for?

When I bought mine I was trying to decide whether to get the old iPad mini (which both my parents have) or this one and I'm so glad I went with the new one. The screen quality is so much better and that alone makes it well worth the price. The processor is much faster as well which is great. Streaming videos is easy, music is a breeze, schoolwork is easy to complete. Great for on the go. It fits in my purse and I don't have to worry about lugging my laptop.

Great gift, had the full size but this is much easier to bring out of the house. The display is much nicer than the Ipad II, camera is better, and very happy with every Apple product we purchased.

I returned 3 Samsung tab 3 lite tablets in exchange for 2 iPad mini 2. The samsung 3 was too slow. I should have stayed with apple in the first place. But I just wanted a cheap priced tablet. But you pay for what you get. We love the iPad mini. I am buying another one friday on best buy website.

I bought an Apple Ipad Mini2 and it isa great addition to my iphone. I can get a bigger screen to view all my iphone data like calendar, photos etc, but it is a great compact size to bring in your purse. I bought a keyboard to go with it and it is like a mini laptop I can pull out anywhere.

This iPad mini 2 is so awesome & reliable. Definitely the best tablet you can buy. I decided to replace my Nook HD with this iPad mini 2 because of it continually freezing up & jumping around to other pages. Now I have something totally reliable with a beautiful display & faster connectivity.

This iPad has it all- perfect size, gorgeous display and lightning speed. What more can I say? Buy one! Price was $50 off for Valentine's day- I'm loving it. Bought to replace my 1st gen Mini.

Purchased this new retina mini for my wife as a Christmas gift, and she LOVES it! Being that she is a two generation iPhone user setup is a breeze although lengthy when restoring from an iPhone back-up (just be patient). GOOD: The screen looks to be nearly as good as my own 2013 Nexus 7, very crisp and worth the premium over the first mini. It is fast opening apps (very fast). The battery life has turned out to be pretty much just what all the reviews have said and it easily last multiple days between charges with moderate to heavy use. NOT SO GOOD: The price for entry as with everything Apple is excessive. Why can't something as simple as front firing speakers be integrated on such a high end tablet? I'm pretty sure that we're doing something wrong with the stock browser safari, as we cannot figure out how to see the tabs that are open and switch easily between them. CONCLUSION: If you're heavy into the Apple ecosystem this is your best bet for a sub 8" tablet with the best screen and blazing fast processors.
