The iPad mini 2 is probably the best small tablet computer. It is cheap compared to iPad mini 3, but in no way inferior. The only difference is that mini 2 does not have fingerprint sensor, but then it is almost $100 cheaper. I would definitely recommend it over mini 3.

Not my first Apple product, but my first iPad. I had a competitor 1st generation product that was not quite up to par. The difference between it and the iPad Mini is simply amazing. I debated on the 1st or 2nd generation Mini, so glad I went with the Retina display, it is awesome.

These were for sale for 199. That was a great deal for what you get. More affordable option for children than newer models.

Upgraded to this recently and its up to par with my iPhone 5s specs! performance was 4 times better than my original mini. perfect price during the holidays at best buy. Retina display is super easy on my eyes, i sometimes look at it for a few minutes without doing anything.

The biggest improvements of the 2nd generation iPad mini is: 1. Retina display, stunning. 2. The latest and most powerful hardware, like A7 CPU The iPad mini Retina is powerful, I just upgraded to iOS 8 and everything still works fluently. I prefer iPad mini to iPad air because it is very easy to take along, you can probably put it into any bag or even some large pockets of trousers and coats. Cons: 1.Heavier than the 1st generation, and a little bit thicker. 2.Screen's color range is somehow narrower than iPad air, it is not that obvious but if you put the two devices side by side, you can tell the difference of colors.

My daughter and grand-daughter have I -Pads - gifts from me. I thought I did not want another device - ( I have a MacBook Pro and an I-Phone ) I bought the I-Pad for travel, ( because it does not require removal from carry-on) and now I love it. Bonus: it was on sale!!!

I love my iPad wouldn't trade it for nothing except another one. I love the fact I can receive text messages on it. The camera in my opinion is better than on my phone (iPhone 5c). It's so many features I haven't got a chance to use yet. Hands down best investment I made.

Purchased this item for my girlfriend for Christmas. She travels a lot and she was doing a lot of stuff on her Iphone and I figured she can be more productive with an Ipad mini. She loved the gift and uses it a lot!! I would recommend this to anyone who is always on the go.

As you would expect from an Apple product, the iPad Mini 2 is of exceptional quality. The size is just right for carrying, easily fitting in a small bag or backpack. Bought it when it was on sale. If you don't have one i would highly recommend getting one, you will love it.

I bought this for my dad. He has an air but i thought this will be more portable for him.Of late he is getting in to technology and has many questions and i love answering them all for him. I think he will like it. My only comment is it should be little less pricey :)

We started with Iphones a few years ago and now have Ipods and Ipads added to our collection. This Ipad mini was bought to be used by our 8 year old son. He loves having his own Ipad after seeing his mom and dad use them so much. Great product and highly recommended.

I didn't feel I needed the retina thingy (not very tech-y) but it does appear to improve battery life and speed compared to my old iPad. Easy to lose because it's so small, but also incredibly portable. Apple really needs to add some kind of interface so that iPads can be used as a short-term (at least) laptop -- ability to read thumb drives at a minimum so I can take this to conferences and use it to follow lectures.

Minimal size tablet. Very good and speedy and product.

We have been using apple products for quiet sometime now. Engineering is always a marvel and product build quality is top notch. Ipad mini 2 was just the right balance between mini and mini 3. Very Happy with the product. Software is a different game...sometimes boring.

I bought my wife a Kindle Fire and returned it the next day. It was too limited. However, since my wife already had an Iphone 5, she took to the ipad like a duck to water.

Perfect everything with this little IPAD.My son loves it...perfect perfect. camera, computer part of it..connection WIFI everything...a mobile everything computer for kids...I also got the case that protects it and now he's going to have the best best IPAD for kids!!

So, I'm a heavy mobile device user. I design apps for both Android and iOS and I use phones and tablets for both platforms regularly. Both platforms have their pros and cons. Having said that, you just can't go wrong with Apple devices. It's the right mixture of ease-of-use and high quality hardware. The iPad Mini 2 is no exception. Recently, the iPad Mini 3 came out, which among a few other trivial things, only really added Touch ID. If you're okay with missing out on Apple Pay, and securing your device with a fingerprint, I'd go with the iPad Mini 2 instead. The rest of the specs are exactly the same.

A fantastic device - the hardware and software is really solid and reliable, fast performance, and this more budget-line version of the iPad is great value and more than enough storage/features for daily use. I use my iPad every day and never had a problem with it.

I am a disabled veteran so I spend a lot of time in bed. I was using an iPhone 5 for web browsing, email, etc. as well as a phone. The iPad mini is much better suited for this with its larger screen. My vision isn't the greatest so the iPad is much easier to read. The size is perfect to hold in one hand leaving the other free to select apps, type, etc. The construction is rock solid and battery life is fantastic. I rarely use my MacBook Pro any more due to the convenience of the iPad, and I got a great price at BestBuy. Thanks Apple and BestBuy for another outstanding product! Bob Melcher Eugene, OR USA
