Although smaller in physical size, the iPad mini is a pretty powerful tablet. I have had every version of the iPad since its inception and each one gives amazing performance for an affordable price. Yes, there are other less expensive tablets....but there is nothing like an Apple product. There just isn't!

The iPad Mini 2 is great and the price is even better. SAVE YOUR MONEY if you are thinking about getting the iPad mini 3. The only difference is the touch option for fingerprint recognition. Other than that the A7 chip is in both of them. The only way you would get the A8 chip is with the new IPAD AIR 2. I got this for my Dad and he loves it. great buy while they are still in stock.

The dimension and weight of my iPad allows greater packing while on the go. I have not had any issues using it-no crashes or freezes. The processor and iOS are both fast when downloading and uploading. I like the office applications/programs which are included; they are easy to use and similar to MS Office products. You will not be disappointed with the product and price.

I reviewed this tablet against all of the others for my 5 year old and this turned out to be one of the best purchases I have made! She loves it! It is light, easy to handle and has all of the kid friendly apps necessary. She plays on this one more than she did her Samsung. Has a great battery life and is easy for her to use. She has figured out many of the functions herself.

The display is better than the previous version. It's very easy to use. I bought one for my little cousin and for myself to use in college. Rather than carrying a laptop I simply bought a keyboard and it's wonderful for taking notes! I also use it to watch Netflix or Hulu and simply surf the web and use other social media apps. The size is convenient too :).

I got my first iPad in 2012, and I loved it. However i decided I wanted a smaller tablet so I picked up this iPad mini 2. The screen is beautiful, it's so thin and light. It feels so well made. I use this to check my emails, read ebooks and watch YouTube. It's much faster and more convenient for simple internet browsing than a conventional laptop or desktop.

It is friendly, very simple and loaded with possibilities. The size makes it comfortable to carry or pack it. It's l little pricy like all apple's products but then again they are the industry standard. My wife just gave her older sister an iPad mini, she has not gone back to her tablet. She states that among other things the retinal display, quality pictures and the video camera are superior. She refers a big difference when comparing the wireless speed. I couldn't agree more. I waited to buy mine and use it at work and home.

This iPad was purchased for a college student. The device is lighter than the larger full size iPad and fits easily in a purse or backpack. It is also fast and easy to set up. If you're an iPhone user, you'll feel right at home with the apps and the way the iOS system operates. Also, if you have an iCloud account, you can easily sync your apps and iTunes media. The fact that it is an Apple product also means you will have many more apps at your fingertips. While other tablets are improving, the fact is that many sites and educational programs are writing apps for iPads, then Android et al. If you are a MS Office user, these apps are also available for the iPad, which in turn run on a system tough and fast enough to support them. If it's a pad you want, the the most bang for your buck iPad mini is for you. As for downfalls, the major drawback is that it doesn't come with a keyboard or stand so you will have to purchase these separately. Also, if what you are looking for is a computer and tablet, then you are better off with an HP machine that does both. Finally, unfortunately you cannot readily connect a USB thumb drive or projector to the device without purchasing a pigtail.

The Ipad mini 2 with retina is a great tablet. It is thin, light, and fast. The only difference between this tablet and the Ipad mini 3 is the touch ID on the mini 3. If you do not need touch ID, as I can never imagine myself actually using it, then save yourself $100 or more and get the mini 2. You will not regret this purchase.

having bought previously in the summer 3 mini iPad for each of my grandkids and an iPhone6 for my daughter and myself... I could feel my husband's impatience for a gadget to call his own. Not wanting to get him a smart phone because it would really be in expense in the wrong direction, I opted to convince him on the iPad mini4. I had the sales guy explain the features to him (still clueless) but when we both explained he could get a sim card to keep connected when we travel abroad that closed the deal. As soon as I got home charged the iPad while I set up Facebook and downloaded a football pool app. Taught him by repetition how to open & close these apps. He is so content. As a bonus I set the wallpaper with a photo of our 2 little dogs that perished in a fire when our home was destroyed back in 2011. I always catch him smiling when he picks up the mini iPad and sees their image staring at him. PRICELESS. I had to chuckle when after he put it down, i picked it up to show him something and he said "that's mine". He agreed that the size, clarity and ease of the device was perfect for him.

I had an iPad 2 and was undecided on whether to sell it and upgrade. Believe it or not, an iPad mini is an upgrade from a iPad 2. So glad I did ! This is perfect for what I use it for. Even though the screen is small, you can read, watch movies and videos comfortably. It's super fast and the display is beautiful.

Very compatible, easy to work with. It's incredible how fast you can access pretty much anything you want. It is compact, easy to carry and take along anywhere. The access to all the apps, and continuos updates make it unique. I've had other tabs in the past, but they can't compare to the mini.

The display is great and the ease of use is very good. Still figuring out all the extra features, but so far I like what I see. The battery life is very good and I never seem to have to turn it off because the sleep mode uses very little power. Glad I chose this over the kindle or an android.

Awesome iPad. Perfect size! Clear and colorful and easy to see...even without my glasses.....easy to use and tons of free apps...I like the mini way better than the bigger iPad...it is the perfect size to take with you anywhere.

The iPad mini 2 is the best tablet and value I have seen. The size is ideal, and makes a normal iPad feel too big after using for a while. The iPad mini 3 doesn't add much except for the price, so this is the one you want while you can still get them. The screen and battery are amazing.

I was looking to upgrade my old iPad (one of the originals, the iPad 2, which still works great, but wouldn't work for the new drone (DJI Advanced 3) that I had purchased. I was torn between the iPad air, and the iPad mini. I decided on the mini just because I didn't want to tote around the large screen on top of my controller while flying my drone (some may prefer the air over the mini if they use for anything OTHER than what I needed it for). Now I was just just down to the mini 2 or the mini 3 for my decision. I did a lot of research, and realized that the differences were pretty minimal for what I was going to be using it for, so I decided to save my money and get the mini2 (after all, I do still have my old iPad2 that still works great for netflix and everything else I would need!) If you are buying for the first time ever, and don't plan on upgrading anytime soon, then go ahead and splurge for the mini 3, but the mini 2 definitely gets the job done!!

Sure, it is smaller than the original iPads. But just as powerfull and user friendly. And compared to the full sized iPads, the mini price (when on sale) makes it even more attractive. If you are used to the footprint of a cell phone, then you'll love all the extra screen size.

This is my second ipad but my first mini, I'll never go back to full sized again. This is what tablets should be, easy to use, blazing fast, comfortable to hold, crips & clear screen. When the mini first came out last year I fell in love with the form factor, but the specs didn't live up to what I wanted in any computer. The old mini was out dated before it launched, it was using 2 year old internals and a screen that was 1/2 the resolution of not only competitors but the other iPads. Not only do I feel that this new retina mini has top of the line specs it truly is so adhead of its time with a 64 bit chip and second stand alone co-processor, this thing will be relevant for years to come. iOS and the AppStore that comes with it make the iPads worth the extra money over samsung and amazon, but this hardware is amazing. It's the perfect companion and bridge to my technology at home when im at work or out on the town.

Takes excellent pictures. Very user friendly. Super long battery life. I bought this for the face time app so I can maintain family contact face to face. Works great except for the pauses when having a conversation with someone. Much better than Skype though.
