Good, but not huge jump from Ipad2

I've had my Ipad 2 for a while, and got the itch for the improved processor and screen of the new model. I figured the new CPU and extra pixels plus the improved hd camera should justify the upgrade. Well, the CPU is a little faster for some applications, but not hugely noticable. As to the screen, to be honest, for web browsing and looking at pictures or text, I can't see the difference, even when put side by side with my wifes Ipad 2 (still own a 2, and probably will keep it now). When browsing, Safari must do some intelligent resizing, because it still shows everything at the same size as the Ipad 2. This is actually a good thing, I half expected to have to zoom more with the higher res screen, which could have been a pain. The only time I see a difference in the graphics is when pulling up a youtube vid and selecting the 1080P HD. Then it takes on a very crisp higher resolution look. This is the only place I've found it looks better than the Ipad 2. This is not a knock on apple. I guess you can take this 2 ways, either the Ipad 2 was really ahead of its time and hard to improve on, or the new model is just a bit over hyped for your average user who is just going to use it to check email and casually surf the web from their livingroom couch or on the road while leaving the heavy lifting to their desktop unit. If your a first time buyer, might as well get the newest model, if you already own an Ipad 2, (which they still sell if that tells you anything) then I guess as an entertainment unit, people who watch a lot of video or play a lot of high res games might enjoy the upgrade to the 4.

The iPad is an excellent choice for both beginners and experts. I am a college student and purchased this iPad for both work and play. I have paired it up with a nice Zagg keyboard case and HD screen protector. The keyboard case works great for taking notes and doing research. I also purchased a standard case for around the house when the keyboard isn't neccisary. The only downside to the iPad is its issues with Adobe Flash player. I do not use many websites that use Flash so it does not bother me. Besides, most websites that use Flash will have an app that does the same thing and looks the same, if not better. Bottom line, an iPad is a solid tablet choice whether you know exactly what you want to do or if you're just getting started. If you want to save movies, go with 32gb or 64gb. If you are just using it for a couple apps/ games and as a portal to the Internet, stick with 16gb. Also check out the cellular iPads if you ever plan to take it out of the house. You don't have to lock it in for a contract. It's only month to month and really cheap to add it to a share plan.

This is my first apple product. I love it so far. I won't make any comparisons between iOS and Android, I like them both in their own respects. I love the retina display, though it isn't quite as nice as the 300ppi Nexus 10, but its the second best display out there, and especially for those already integrated in the Apple ecosystem, it's a great way to go. It's also a great way to get into apple if you're in the market for a tablet. I do not regret the purchase. I'm loving the a6x processor. Powerful. Battery life is great as long as turn off auto brightness and remember to adjust it with your current settings. I squeeze a whole day of fairly regular use. It's great for school and business. I do my blackboard assignments, with their app. I use Documents and Office2 HD for viewing and writing homework. There some beautiful non subscription note apps like note suite and notability. Plenty of uses for fun, productivity, and whatever else. The retina optimized apps, many of them, are gorgeous as well. It's a nice purchase, this coming from a user if windows since DOS

I have had a great experience with the iPad, I love the messenger app, FaceTime, and all the other apps that you can download. Now that I have made the switch from an android tablet to an Apple iPad I'll have to make the switch from an android powered phone to an iPhone, this iPad has really made me an Apple fan. Over all I am glad I made the switch to an Apple product. There are a few things that I am displeased with. When they do updates to the operating system it seems as if they don't care how the apps interact with updates. They also don't seem to care after the update is complete that the user has no idea that they changed the interface between the user and the iPad. One of the other things that I am truly displeased with is the camera on the iPad it appears that they have used an old camera instead of using an updated version. I still would recommend an iPad to friends.

I bought this Ipad for my mom so that she can watch movie and read books online when she is in bed. I heard retina is good for eyes. This thin ipad is at first impressed me and my mom by its nice look and run smoothly, ease of use. However, it is rather heavy for my mom to hold it , and also she cannot watch vietnamese movie online. There is a message of having no supporting format of the system. I try to install chromebook, but movie not run smoothly like my blackberry playbook. Screen is not bright, some time it gets darker. I decided to return it even thought feeling very regret to not own this very nice ipad. Best buy is the best play to buy electronic; it is safe to buy your expensive computers or tablets. In case you are not satisfy with what you bought you can exchange or return without having to use what you don't want to, or loose your money. They refund me money without asking any reasons, no stocking fee; i appreciate it. Thanks best buy for a very good customer service.

    Work or Pleasure?

Depending on how you use this product, the price range may not be entirely worth buying such a product. While an iPad is extremely easy to use, it may be too easy at time. As for the price range, you can buy 2 high-quality Android Tablets. What makes this iPad so great is its ability to incorporate every day apps for pleasure and for work. However, depending on how you use, an iPad may not be the best choice for you. App selection is extensive, many quality apps used for business/work need to be purchased. Android Tablets typically have free applications which work fairly well with work related applications. For pleasure, I would definitely say if you're browsing the web, checking e-mails, and watching youtube, this is the perfect device for you. If you're an artist and prefer multi-tasking and customizing your tablet, go for an Android. Additionally, this iPad is extremely large, so if you plan on reading in bed, I would recommend an iPad mini.

this is an awesome tablet! i'm spoiled by it. it is so compact but sturdy without being bulky. it loads really fast. i have watched my netflix movies on it and the picture quality is beautiful. it's so crisp. the lightning fast charge cable works great when i use the adapter. however, when i plug it up to my dell laptop, it reads "not charging" but it's actually charging very slowly. not sure if this is a common problem with the ipad or if it's just mine. other than that, no problems so far! it takes much better pics than the previous version of ipad thanks to the retina display. i just love it! i'm going to get case for it so that i can travel with it. fortunately, it can fit in my purse and i won't have to lug my heavy laptop anymore in my backpack or satchel...phew so much easier on my back! i recommend this to students or anyone that is looking for a tablet with great quality and ease of use

When it comes to Apple's i-products there's tons of professional reviews and there's is not really much to say as consumer/user doing a review, except my own experience with it. The iPad is just a great tablet in any way that you could imagine (so say millions of buyers). Screen: Awesome resolution and colors. Gorilla glass is really strong and withstands standard usage scratches. Battery: Very good life, if you use the iPad a lot during the day, you'll need to charge it every night. Operating System: iOS is the easiest mobile platform system, so easy my 2 year old daughter knows her way around it. There's a world of apps on the iTunes store. Literally, it's true when the advertisements say "there's an app for that". Accessories: There's a myriad of accessories for Apple products, no need to say much about it.

It is an Apple iPad and is obviously state of the art. I am a 71 year old senior citizen and am not that techno savvy. My needs are simple as I wanted something that would allow me to watch TV and do emails without using much electricity. I live in N Idaho off the electrical grid and try to use as little power as possible making electricity with solar panels. My Chinese wife will deplete the batteries watching Chinese stations into the wee hours leaving me with no power. So I charge up the iPad and now I am able to watch the tube. I do have to have WiFi and the satellite TV receiver on to use the device but overall, I save juice. I am pleased but fear I may have to get another one for her. She likes being able to use it to see and communicate with her grown son in China!

I needed to get this for work and the iPad was the only tablet supported by my office. Otherwise, I would have gotten a Surface for its multitasking capability and compatibility with MS Office. The iPad is a great toy, but not ideal for what I need at my place of business. I need multitasking with apps, decent word processor and spread sheet apps, and support of the pen-style styluses. To add insult to injury, this thing was ridiculously expensive for what it does. I still gave it a 4 rating despite my complaints because it does the job pretty well and there are work-arounds to some of the issues that I raised. That, and one could not do any better for an easy tablet to use that has a gorgeous display and a huge selection of apps.

This is our first tablet and the whole family really enjoys it. My wife likes being able to access email and facebook in the car when we are traveling without having to carry around a laptop or using the small screen on her iPhone. The kids enjoy all of the apps that are available to play. As an IG inspector for the Air Force, I'm able to download all of the documents and checklists needed for my job and only carry the iPad around to conduct inspections rather than a thick binder full of paper copies. I'm not real tech savy, but compared to windows products, I find the iTunes/iCloud to not be user friendly or easy to figure out. That would be my only complaint about any apple product.

I finally splurged and got this iPad and I'm glad I did. Not only do I love it but my kids love it too. It is easy to access different apps and download quickly. I still have to figure out the different control settings so when the two year old is playing she can't change options I have set up. Originally bought the 16gb and had to exchange it for the 32gb for all the pictures/music/apps I have for it. Wish the sales rep would have talked me into the bigger one first since they were sold out of the black when I went back to exchange it but had a black otterbox case either way. Although there are different options out there that are cheaper, apple has never let me down. Be sure to get a good case for it just incase.

I wish I would have been told that it's better to have more memory if you need to download movies and music. I teach, and when I took videos of workshops I quickly ran out of memory. I bought this product for my business, movies to watch on the plane, and for school. It's been a challenge since I don't have enough memory. I even bought icloud memory, but had difficulty using and transferring my downloads. I'm disappointed in the iPad, since I thought it would be convenient. There weren't instructions in the box, so I had no clue how to use it or what to do. Weeks went by before I found the instructions on the iPad. The place where I bought it didn't explain much either, but suggested that I speak directly to Apple.

Bought this to keep my kids entertained during dinnner outings. I would definitely recommend some kind of case, especially with kids!! Not the most rugged out of the box. Very easy to use, in fact my two year old boys use it along with my 4 year old. App store is huge, again for the kids this is a must to keep them entertained, especially when they are getting restless. Retina display is pretty amazing as well. I would recommend this, especially for those with other apple products as you can sync things thru icloud. Try to get a cover that acts as a stand as well. Wish the sound volume was louder.

This is my second iPad - had a 1, now have a 4. Great tablet, but lack of a USB port and Adobe Flash will always prevent it from being excellent. Almost went with a different brand, but had already purchased several apps that were transferred over to the new iPad. And I do love everything else about this addictive gadget. Major frustration having to use PC for websites and reservations needing Flash. If that isn't an issue, then you will love an iPad. DO NOt get an iPad exclusively without a Windows computer back up if you browse travel sites and make online reservations. Luv, luv, luv my IPad4 other than that. Computer sales folks at Best Buy in Rogers, AR are awesome.

This is an Awesome Machine !! I can easily scroll to any place on the IPAD!! I really enjoy to read, so this IPAD with its screen is easily read in all light conditions !! Great access to e-books!! I think I will even read and respond to my E-Mails now !! I am not a tech geek at all, but this IPAD makes it so easy to navigate between pages and screens !! I do not have feeling in my hands and was quite worried about a touch screen, but I find this IPAD very user friendly to me !! I really enjoy the game apps, especially those that try my brain !! Thanks for creating such a wonderful IPAD !! I highly recommend this IPAD to any and all !!

The Apple ipad is a really a cool device. It is easy to set up and use, excellent screen quality and features. The one problem that I am having now is that after a new wireless router was installed, the device can no longer find my printer, even though it printed just fine before this. I tried every solution I could think of, even calling Apple support, HP support and Time-Warner support, but no one could find a solution. This is very frustrating and I am no longer getting my full use of this device. I also think that the cost of this device is excessive considering it still has kinks to be worked out.

First tablet, I can't deny the quality or the speed, Apple is the best in my opinion. However, the device has two glaring problems which I understand Apple ignores or has chosen to limit. First, if you have a POP email server like Verizon, you can't set up mailboxes to manage email, I believe you must use the ICloud or some such service, which I don't care to use to place my private messages on. Second, flash player is not allowed on this device which means a lot of youtube vids are not going to work. On the upside the device security is second to none, and the battery life is fine. Yes, I am frustrated but satisfied.

I bought this so I could show prospective clients my portfolios. The display is excellent for this. It's not too big, and the color reproduction is spot on. Contrast and clarity are outstanding. The downside of the iPad? Well, a couple. First, it's not inexpensive. There are a lot of choices out there and, had it not been for the display, I may have purchased something else to save some money. Also, accessories are pricey, as well. I realize that's not an issue with the iPad in and of itself, but it bears mentioning. I've not yet deciphered the full potential of the iPad, but I suspect I will in time.

If you don't mind being sucked into the Apple universe, there isn't a better option for a tablet. Great resolution and fast processing. The only problems I have with the device are that sometimes the the touchscreen isn't as accurate as I think it should be and that you can't sync it with any non-Apple products. For instance, I tries to sync the iPad with my Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPad refuses to "see" it even though the S3 sees the iPad just fine. The iPad also has way more accessories than any other tablet on the market right now, so if that matters to you, this is really the only option.
