I had the black leather Apple case for my 8+ and was quite happy with it so it made sense to get the same type leather case for my new phone. It looks and feels great, it's easy to install, and everything fits well. I haven't done an accidental drop-test yet with this case, but with the 8+ case, I have dropped the phone from waist-level and no damage was done. I will warn that it is slippery and leather can be hard to clean. My previous one became water-damaged because I unknowingly placed it on a wet counter-top for a prolonged period of time. As long as you are aware of these cons, then I would recommend this case.

Overall, it’s a nice product from apple. It protects your phone, doesn’t slip out your hands, and looks stylish.

So this is a really nice case for your phone, the thing is....it's not going to stay that way for long. You're going to drop this on gravel and other things so it's going to leave marks and scuffs and you can try to buff them out but I'm always worried about where I place my phone as for my case before, I didn't care where I put it because it had better protection and it only cost like $10. So this case will add unnecessary stress just like having a nice car does if that makes any sense. Overall it does look great and starts to wear to a natural patina.

This was my first time purchasing an Apple branded case. I've dropped my phone too many time to count and it really does what it should, protect your phone. I've dropped it pretty hard at time where it leave a big scuff in the case, but it fades away over time as most leathers do. I'm really happy with this purchase.

I’ve long been a fan of the Apple leather case. A big plus for this Saddle Brown variant is that it looks well as it ages. I’m very careful with my phone and I do not drop it so cases serve to provide me with these two purposes: protect my phone from scratches in a work environment; and look great while doing so. This case nails both.

I had tried another case (two actually that both had the same defect) before trying this case from Apple. I really like this case. It is much lighter than the other cases I had tried and it fits perfectly.

I love the patina these cases get overtime. If you want the case to stay looking new at all times, this case is not for you. They’re ridiculously overpriced. Apple claims that they drop test these but I had an older iPhone that broke with this case on. I would highly suggest waiting for these cases to go on sale. They’re just not worth it full price quality wise when you can get a stronger, better case for the same money, if not cheaper.
