Beware "Universal" Iphone locks to network
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a UNIVERSAL IPHONE 8 64GB SPACE GRAY after explaining to the sales person that i would use the total wireless network and needed to be able to switch out the sim for use in Europe. I was told the Universal model of the iphone would permit this. Upone arriving in Europe, inserting a sim card for use on european carriers the phone stated it was locked and I had NO access to the phone. I had to reinsert my US sim card in order to even be able to use the phone. After 15 calls to total wireless and 5 calls to Best Buy I was finally able to determine that while i believed i had purchased an unlocked iphone, the phone was actually locked. It took a week to have the issue remedied, meanwhile rendering my iphone useless except for over wifi networks. Best Buy did not inform me upon purchase that the phone was not a truly unlocked phone.

May give up on IPhones

Had to get me another. My old IPhone died before it was even paid off. They couldn't help me retrieve my info. Longtime Apple user, thinking of switching to another kind of phone.
