I actually own all the ipod models for different purposes. I also got this model for my 13 yr old son. Its not the super expensive model abd its not tge super cheap nano. Has several different function. You really dont need much more unless you really want to store all your music on there or want face time.

So lightweight compared to my old classic iPod

I am very happy with it.
