    Don't waste your money

I would give this product a zero if the review allowed. My primary use is for workouts and long car rides. I could care less about pictures, really on a 1 x 1 screen? And I haven't ventured into podcasts yet, but am intrigued. The earphone connection doesn't work. I had to constantly move it around to get stereo sound. I thought I might be able to work with this, but the jostling from my w/o had the thing cutting in and out so much in the first five minutes that I was so frustrated that I quit my workout so that I could return it pronto. Add to this that only the Apple earphones work with the FM connection, and, if you are like me and can't use the apple ear buds, the FM option is worthless. I had trouble with the touch screen also. There's not enough of a "null" area around it and when you try to adjust the clip while playing tunes, you invariably hit a touchscreen command. Since I have to clip the player to the bottom of my shirt during a w/o this is a major inconvenience.

    Music Cuts Off

I bought the blue 8GB Nano yesterday. I spent about 3-4 hours learning and putting my music on the Nano. When a song is choosen to play, it plays fine for 20 seconds, then the screen goes black and the music shuts off. You have to consistently play with the screen or leave it plugged into the computer to keep the song playing. If it powers down, you have to hit the power button again and remove the song from pause to pick up where you left off. I'm carrying it back today. According to the little instruction booklet that came with it, when the screen powers down, the song is to continue playing. I always seem to find the lemon. Now I have to waist gas to drive back to the store.

The nano has several awesome features bundled including FM receiver, playback videos, view photos, etc. However, I bought the nano to replace the previous nano which is a similar player without the screen. The usability of the new nano while running is my complaint. Although I love the screen, it's difficult to control while running. During medium to long runs, your fingers are sweaty. Subsequently navigating music or selecting radio control is difficult even while looking directly at the screen. In addition, the screen (even at maximum brightness) is difficult to see while running while the sun is out. It's a great product but not usable for runs in the sun.

Purchased this item wih lots of enthusiasm and learned how to use it, especially downloading pictures. The Nano froze up. Went to Best Buy more than four times and each time there was a different solution. On my last visit I even took my Desk top for them to check and revise. The solution was to reset. Great idea but they if you create a folder and store the music, but they didn't do that so everything was lost. I had over 700 songs downloaded, hours of work down the drain. I was angered to say the least. I went home found my receipt, went back and returned the item to get my money back. It wasn't a Best Buy because somebody goofed.

I bought new nano because I thought my old classic was going bad. I was getting a high spike noise with symbol crashes and so on. Because of this I lost 144 cd's from Japan. I backed them up to a portable hard drive and sold them. Even the back up was corrupted by the itunes program. I took the Ipod Nano back and got a refund. Still using my classic ipod, I tried to import new music I just bought and that noise is still there. I have to leave my complaint here because you can never talk to a person at itunes support!!!-BUY CD"S AND KEEP THEM!!!

    BEWARE: WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH

    Posted

Nanos are apparently not meant for running or pretty much any activity other than sitting in it's original packaging despite the Nike+ marketing. I got the "white screen of death" less than a month after purchase and independent of using the nano during physical activity. Once your Nano gets the "white screen of death" there is no way to recover it. Save your money or splurge on a real ipod. Very disappointing for an Apple product.

    Battery Life is Terrible!

Why on earth they didn't put an off button on this is beyond me. You put the ipod to sleep and then if you don't touch it again for 36 hours it turns itself off completely. It drains the battery so fast that you have to be constantly charging it. Even the video ipod has a better life than this.

terrible set up for a runner

the finger touch i-phone-like control on the nano is useless if you can't see what your fingers are doing, and that is usually the case when you're running, biking, rowing or doing anything active and constant with your hands. I liked the "older " technology on the prior ipod models with the wheel and click control. I returned it to the store.

Horrible item! I hate the fact that it does not turn off! You have to remember to "pause" it in order to try to save your battery! Every time i go to use it, the battery is dead! I hope they do an update to fix this! otherwise, it is just going to sit in my Junk Drawer

    Flimsy Junk

Piece of junk. Three months in and the On/Off/Sleeper button broke. When it was functioning, most of the time the device wasn't recognized on my laptop or PC. Apparently this is well-known to Apple, since they provide extensive instructions on how to get it to show up when you plug it in. I'm officially done w/ Apple, the world's most overrated company.

Why did Apple take a great piece of electronics and try to always improve it. The buttons randomly work, can be difficult switching quickly for anything, ie, changing radio stations or playlists, so irritated with new changes, will not by new one. I have had all generations plus the i touch and i pad. I hate this piece of crapt

IPods are known to do everything videos music movies etc. Take that away and you've got a mp3 player. Apple bites the big one with this $149 for a mp3 player. I think not!!!! Bring the old nano back it does everything and still lite weight and compact for the athlete.

I purchased the ipod Nano 6th generation as a Christmas present for my son in December 2011 and 2 months later the sleep button is stuck and will not turn on! I would recommend all buyers to pay the extra money for the extended warranty.

I have purchased several Ipods over the years and this 6th generation is terrible. I purchased it for a gift and would certainly NOT keep it if it was for my personal usage.
