Always nice to have a spare

When I upgraded to the new iPhone model, which has left behind the traditional 3.5 mm earphone jack to free up space inside, I was glad to see that Apple had the courtesy to include a lighting-3.5 mm adaptor as part of the accessories for those of us who prefer earbuds with a little more oomph than the included earPods (which now will connect directly via the lightning port) can provide. There was one little convenience issue, in that my car's stereo system pre-dates blue-tooth connectivity or USB cables being a standard feature, so I had to rely on a 3.5 mm stereo cable to connect my phone to the car's audio. This could still be accomplished using the adaptor, but it was kind of a pain to be frequently unhooking it from my earbuds and plugging it into the cable in my car, or vice versa. And, of course, in the first couple of weeks following the iPhone 7's release, no one--including the local Apple store--was stocking spare adaptors. So when I saw that Best Buy starting carrying them, I immediately went to pick one up. It also helped that they're about a dollar cheaper there, compared to buying directly from Apple. Since I'm looking at possibly getting a newer vehicle, with bluetooth and/or USB connectivity, I most likely won't need to have 2 of these adaptors, but it's always nice to have a spare.

Great Adapter for Apple Users with Wired Headphone

The Lightning to 3.5mm headphone adapter is just what I need from Apple when Bluetooth listening is not an option. The adapter is compact, so it does not make carrying the iPhone uncomfortable while in use and it stores easy when not in use. The sound of the headphones is just as good combined with the headphone adapter. An easy to use necessity for iPhone users that reliably delivers corded audio. Another great quality product from Apple and great value when you in a pinch with Bluetooth headphones that do not have power.

I purchased this adapter mostly for testing. Lots of iPhones in my family that are not 7 or 8 series. I can verify it is compatible all the way back to iPhone 5C. I was a bit learly of some sound quality loss, BUT while connected to my iPhone 6 and 6S (iOS 11) on both my EarPods and Beats Sudio, everything sounds crisp, clean and terrific. Full compatibility with in-line clicker controls too! It is capable of the full sonic spectrum from pounding bass, all the way up to screeching highs, if you want those extremes. It just sounds great. Totally a fair price. Love it.

If you still need to use a standard audio cord or classic wired headphones with a recent iDevice (except iPad Pro) this will do the trick. It doesn’t allow you to charge at the same time (unless you do wireless charging), so for long car trips look for a different adapter that can charge too. The price is standard though I wish it was even cheaper. But a few (and keep one attached to each pair oh headphones) because they tend to get lost when you have to unplug them to charge all the time.

Apple uses lightning connectors. People have regular headphones. So we have to pony up for an adapter. It’s probably better to have the adapter than getting lightning headphones, cuz the regular 3.5 jack is more common on other products and no telling how long it will be before Apple takes phones to usb-c like the new iPads. The adapter is small and well built. Sturdy with a satisfying click when attaching. Sound quality while using is still good. As Apple product you can’t go wrong.

Necessary for headphone use with new i-phones

My husband's new i-phone doesn't have a headphone jack. This adapter has made it possible for him to use his existing headphones (which require a 3.5 mm port) with his new phone by simply plugging it into the charging port. There have been no issues so far except the inability to charge the phone while using the adapter.

Why the resistance to wired headphones?

First I tried the expensive Apple Bluetooth earbuds that were not loud enough and did not have very good battery life. Then I got these and use them every day with the wired Apple headphones with microphone that came with my IPhone 6S Plus and they work great and have full functionality with Siri and do not require charging or use any of my phone’s battery.

You should get these if you have an idevice because wireless if you end up without one or both, you’re going to go back to your old earphones and chances are you’re gonna need this jack and it’s a lifesaver. But it’s small and therefore easily misplaced, so grab two. They’re about $10 bucks so if you can, two are nice to have on hand just in case and you can’t go wrong. They’re a decent product for a decent price. Apple still is evil.

This adapter is an actual Apple product. It has so far worked flawlessly on my iPhone that no longer has a headphone jack. Yes I could have bought a blue tooth adapter or headphones but my wired active noise canceling headphone work great and sound great so why spend a lot to risk all the Bluetooth issues when this adapter works very well.

Works perfectly to adapt corded headphones with traditional 3.5 mm plug for use with iPhone SE2020. Absolutely no static or other noises and connects positively each time. I did try a couple of cheaper non-Apple adapters and they were junk, introducing extraneous noises and made with lesser materials. For a few dollars more, it’s well worth getting the real high-quality product.

The adapter is small and reliable for my iPhone X. I now have bought three of them to have them where I need them - briefcase, travel bag, and home use. They are my backup if my AirPods Pro run out of power or stop working, or I don't have the AirPods Pro with me. Note that this adapter is getting harder to find, given the new connectors on the new iPhones.

I was looking for a brand new headphone adapter that wasn't so expensive because I had upgraded from an iPhone 6s plus to 8 plus and I'm so glad I was able to find it on here for a decent price. It's actually the Apple brand and it is smaller than I thought it would be but I like it. And yes I still use my earphones from the 6s plus on this 8 plus and the headphones adapter. Works perfectly!

Works great! After blowing through cheap Amazon alternatives, I decided to pay full retail for this Apple converter. It fits my iPhone 8 and favorite wired earbuds great! Been using it for about 2 weeks and it has already surpassed the time the two cheap alternatives worked- well worth the investment in the real Apple product! Also shipped quickly- Thanks!
