This adapter works well as intended. I have had few issues using this in conjunction with my old Iphone/Ipod cables. The main issue is that, due to its width the connection is not made if the phone case gets in the way as the plug has to be inserted completely into the port. The other issue is that $30 is quite a bit to spend on a small 1" square piece of plastic and metal. Would not recommend due to price.

If you have previously used Apple 30 pin accessories then this is a must have when you want to use your newer devices with them. The adapter is simply plug and play in most cases and the only downside is the cost. However I have had an instance or two where the newer Apple device failed to recognize the adapter but this was usually remedied by disconnecting and reconnecting again. The small lightning end can be bent if one does not pay special attention to inserting it into a lightning port on an iPad or iPhone.

If you only need a lightning cord for purposes of charging your newer Iphone model, that is probably the cheaper way to go making this item not as practical. However if you have older apple legacy items which connected to 30-pin (take ihome alarm clocks where you can dock your phone to play music as an example) then this item becomes cost effective rather quickly. I even bought an open box version which was $5 cheaper, and quite honestly the box and item itself had no noticeable wear and tear.

I got this for my guest room alarm clock which i got several years ago. It has the 30 pin connector. Wanted folks to be able to dock their phone and other 30 pin devices. I just wish it had a cord. Would make it easier with iPhone since the clock does not support the weight of the adapter and iPhone. It is unstable and falls over. With a cord, it could be set alongside of the clock.

Rating low for price and configuration flexibility. Device works to allow continued use of older accessories like chargers, iHome if you have them for older iPhones, iPads as well as newer ones with the new connector. However, be aware that due to the width of the plastic at the Lightning end being as wide as the old 30-pin end you I'll probably need to remove your case to plug this in. There is another adapter which separates the 30-pin end from the Lightning connector end with a very short wire which is eliminates this issue but is $10 more. See Model: MD824 SKU: 6651881 Having both, I prefer not having to remove my case so the extra $10 was worth it to me, but your actual usage needs and willingness to pay for that convenience should be your guide. Both do the job equally well. Really old 30-pin connector charging cables (from earliest iPods) may not be compatible (they'll connect but won't charge but may work for syncing). As with all Apple hardware it seems overpriced for what it is, but can't blame Best Buy for that. You can find non-Apple versions significantly cheaper at other websites but I haven't seen any as certified for iPhone and Best Buy doesn't carry these so not sure if they are reliable merchants and hardware but at prices from $0.88 - $8 instead of $29.99 - $39.99, I may try those if I need another one in future.

I have a set of Boze speakers that were made to be used with Apple products. When Apple switched to a different charging port I was sad because I didn't think I would be able to use them anymore; then I found this product and it's amazing. It's easy to install and my phone now works with the speakers again. My only complaint is the height of the device. Because of the height I had to move the speakers so that my phone wasn't hitting the top of the shelf.

I was leary after reading some of the other reviews on other websites. I have an iHome clock radio with the 30 pin charger so needed an adapter to charge my iPhone 5s. This works great. You do have to watch which case you have on your phone if it is one with openings around the microphone adapter and the charging spot and the rest is covered this will not work. If this area is open with no obstruction this works perfectly.

The Apple Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter was very helpful when I had to upgrade from a 4th Generation iPod Touch to a 5th Generation iPod Touch. I have a portable speaker and alarm clock that were both made to connect with the 4th Generation iPod Touch and this adapter lets them work just as well with my new iPod Touch as they did with my old one. The only issue I have with it is that it cannot connect to my iPod Touch when I have my iPod's protective case on.

I have an aftermarket radio and ipod connector in my car, and also an older Bose sound dock in my room. This thing really comes in handy in my car since I do not have an AUX input. It was working fine with my 2nd generation Bose for the first few days. For some reason now it will not work, and I do not believe my ipod touch has updated since receiving the cord( and there are no updates pending). It will still charge the ipod touch, but will not play music.

I use this for my car mount that was made for the iPhone 4 and 4S, while my 5s fits perfectly, it has the small satellite adapter so this 30 pin to satellite adapter comes in really handy. Seeing that I am constantly putting the phone in the cradle, I tend to wear out the gold connector about twice a year so I've had to buy 3 of these now. It's not just this adapter, all my cables that do not require this adapter have worn out the contacts as well. it's a snug fit into the phone and that is why it happens

I needed this adapter for my brand new car. I found out AFTER I bought my car that it didn't have a USB or an AUX port to listen to my music (it's 2015, these should be standard on any new car, cough-cough, Volkswagen, cough-cough), It only came with a 30-pin adapter cable (I don't have an iPhone 4s, the times have changed for the better.) Good thing Apple is still selling these or I would've been very upset with my purchase, this little device saved the day, if not, my car's future.

When upgrading my iphone the old chargers and my kitchen boom box could no longer accommodate my phone. The great thing was that with the adapter, I can not only still continue to use my original equipment, but my kids can still charge ipods and iphones that have not yet been upgraded. On the down side, $32 seems very pricy, especially because it's so small and I had to buy another one when it was misplaced.

Don't be fooled by cheaper or other copies as they don't work with the iPhone 5s. If you upgrade to a 5s iPhone you will need this adapter. It works great but it may not be compatible with other products used as a charging base from iPhone 4, 4s or 5. Or USB cables. Stick with Best Buy or stores you trust. Internet ads may be cheaper but their product doesn't work with iPhone 5s and won't give your money back.

I have an ipod connector in my car with a 30 pin connector. I went to see how much it would cost to install the newer connector. They wanted to charge me $300?????!? Well I said No and bought this. It worked perfectly... and I was able to drink the $265 in beer!! But not while I was driving.. that is wrong.. drinking and driving is dangerous, wrong and against the law.. don't break the law. But do go out and buy this adapter because it works.

I have a VW EOS WITH A 30 pin MDI for iPhone users. If you have a lightning charger, this will do the job. I can charge my iPhone 5 while listening to music, but the connection isn't tight and I have to adjust periodically otherwise I'll find that my phone wasn't charging and I'm out of power. Would I buy it again? Yes. The positives outweigh having to position it to insure it's charging.

No issues, installed myself, used a dash and wire kit in my Honda Ridgeline, steering wheel controls and back up camera works flawless, along with gps and nav, takes some reading of instruction and user manual to understand full options, but well worth the money. Looks like a factory install with dash kit, sounds great with factory speakers and works great with my iPhone and Bluetooth. No issues, expensive stereo but well worth the money!!!

Reason why I purchased this is that I upgraded my phone to iPhone 6 from iPhone 4, and needed adapter to be able to use (charge and play from phone) with SONOS dock. If enyone wonder if this will work - answer is YES, dock is fully functional with this adapter, but - You need also phone holder and this is available on the market too. I have fully functional SONOS dock with iPhone 6

This adapter works as I expected it to. The only thing to note is that if you have a protective cover on your phone, you will most likely have to remove it to use the adapter. When you plug it into the port on the phone, the shoulder sits very close to the phone and there is not enough room to allow for your protective cover. I just slipped my cover off, and it connected and worked as expected.

This connector has worked well when needed. I was a bit hesitant when the sales rep told me that it would only last a few months...based on other Apple products life span. So I was pleasantly surprised at its convenience and how well it worked when I put it to use. I even impressed a 15-year old girl when I hooked it to the old iPhone charger. Now THAT's a minor miracle.

This little device solved my problem. My Bose speakers have the multi pin connector; my iPhone has the newer small one. The only problem is that I need to take the phone out of the case to attach it to the adapter. Not a big deal; minor hassle. Would be good if Apple fixed this design flaw. Jobs would not have let this slip through.
