I had a mac mini m1 8gb ram 256gb of storage. Ram is noticeable other wise all around cant beat for the price

A really good value with 16GB being standard now. For everyday use cases, you probably don't need more RAM than that. Internal storage may not be enough though if you have a lot of lossless music formats and high resolution photos. Plus if you back up your iPhone or iPad locally instead of iCloud, then it all starts to add up quick. I'm totally fine with the 256GB storage but your mileage may vary. I keep a separate older Mac for my music, photos, and backup duties. Great build quality as usual. I have it connected to a 27 inch 1080p 240Hz monitor and it works great. I know it's all about the 4K these days but 1080p can still hang as a computer monitor in my opinion. I turned off Apple Intelligence so I can't comment about that feature. I don't have any interest in using any form of AI on my mobile or desktop devices.

Incredible little computer! The small size can be misleading but the first time you start this little machine up proves that looks can definitely be deceiving. This is a great little computer and it puts a regular sized comparably equipped desktop to shame.

This Mac mini with the M4 chip is a compact and reliable desktop that handles everyday workloads extremely well. It’s quiet, energy‑efficient, and the overall build quality is exactly what you’d expect from Apple. For tasks like browsing, office work, media consumption, and light creative apps, performance is smooth and responsive. That said, the base M4 isn’t quite fast enough for heavier workloads—especially more demanding AI tasks, large creative projects, or anything that needs sustained high‑end CPU/GPU performance. Storage at 256GB also fills up quickly. It’s still a great machine, but power users may want to step up to a higher-tier configuration. Overall, an excellent compact desktop with great efficiency—but not quite the performance leap I hoped for, hence the 4‑star rating.

I have a MacBook Air M4 and a Mac Mini M4. They both work great. I run the Mini with a 4K monitor and Apple wireless keyboard and mouse. Great combination.

Incrediblely small and equally powerful. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a Mac desktop. If you need to do video editing, a more powerful M4 Pro model would be a better option. For serious gaming, a Windows PC is better.

This little guy is a beast. Look in to a dock, that uses thunderbolt, to expand storage for lower price. There's also some 3rd party folks making Mac mini swappable SSDs internally since they don't use M.2 slots inside. Less expensive that getting more storage from the factory.
