DO NOT BUY the new M4 16GB Memory - 256GB SSD unless you only intend to watch videos and check emails. This DOES NOT have memory to do any photo or video editing. Only work around is move non-Apple apps to SSD and launch from there. Spend the extra and get the 32GB.

So the first review I gave was good, but you chose not to publish it so you sent me a second review. Therefore, I’ll say that I needed more memory and the sales people didn’t have it in them to try and upsell me. So now I have to buy a memory card.

**Mac Mini (Base Model) Review**
I recently purchased the base model Mac Mini, and I’m genuinely thrilled with its performance and value. Powered by the M4 chip with an 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, it handles my daily tasks—web browsing, video streaming, light photo editing, and even some coding—with impressive speed and efficiency. The 8GB of unified memory and 256GB SSD are sufficient for my needs, though heavy multitaskers might want to consider upgrading. The compact, sleek aluminum design fits perfectly on my desk, and its near-silent operation is a huge plus.
Setup was a breeze, and macOS Ventura runs smoothly, offering a seamless experience with my other Apple devices. The port selection (two Thunderbolt 4, two USB-A, HDMI, Ethernet, and headphone jack) is versatile for a machine this size, though I occasionally wish for an extra USB-C port. For the price, it’s hard to beat the performance and build quality, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable, space-saving desktop.
I’m delighted with my Mac Mini—it’s a powerful little workhorse that exceeds expectations for a base model. Highly recommended for budget-conscious users who don’t need the extra bells and whistles!

First I got this on sale at Best Buy with my Best Buy Plus membership for $499 - sweet! I'm not a power user, just your average guy. I don't do video editing, music production, or gaming to any serious degree but pretty much everything else. This little thing rocks. I'm coming from years of PC experience both from light IT work to heavy office usage. I don't much care about being bullied by Microsoft into Windows 11 and figured if I had to learn a new GUI may as well go all in on Mac. I have used Mac for some music editing and production but not as my primary computer. Has there been a learning curve, oh yeah, but it's been relatively painless and I have found customizations to make it a bit more Windows like, but hey I chose to go away from Windows so I haven't changed anything, just learned Mac.
As far as the machine itself is concerned my wife was gobsmacked to learn that this little box was all my gargantuan desktop was and more. It's compact, quiet, boots quickly what more can I say. The only downside if there is one is the lack of USB A ports, even some USB 3.0 devices use the USB A form, but an adapter takes care of it. Just means your desktop is a bit more cluttered, particularly if you hook up a USB A hub for your other peripherals. I am a tinkerer and loved to replace and upgrade my PCs, not so this little guy, there is nothing user accessible, but hey I'm ok with that as it's spec'd for what I need. If I need more than this on a budget then it's definitely going to have to be filled with a PC as Mac gets stupid expensive for RAM and storage upgrades. Having said that am I nervous about storage, 256 gb - not really as external storage is cheap and with Thunderbolt danged near as fast as internal storage at least for most uses. I have loaded all I need to load to include some music editing software, etc., and I haven't used half of the storage and don't see ever running out. I use an external drive for backups and file storage. Us old computer users who grew up with miniscule hard drives are used to keeping things decluttered and neat. I have also learned through hard knocks that it's always best to keep things backed up on an external drive,
Do I recommend it, you bet. If something happened to it I would certainly replace it with another just like it.

As someone who relies heavily on my desktop for a mix of creative work, coding, and everyday tasks, my Mac Mini is the heart of my setup. I've been a big fan of the M-series chips, having previously used the M2 Mac Mini, which was already a fantastic machine. But the recent jump to the M4 Mac Mini has genuinely surprised me with how much more it brings to the table.
Let's start with the most immediate, tangible difference: performance. My M2 Mini was no slouch, but the M4 is just on another level. I work with large image files in Photoshop and often dabble in 3D rendering for personal projects, and the speed improvements are undeniable. Filters apply in a blink, complex scenes render noticeably faster, and compiling code feels almost instantaneous. It's not just about raw benchmarks; it's about the fluidity of the experience, the complete lack of bottlenecks in my workflow. My M2 was fast, but the M4 feels effortless.
Beyond the sheer horsepower, the new design is a real win. The M4 Mac Mini is surprisingly smaller and more compact than the M2, which is impressive given the power it packs. It's subtle, but it makes a difference on my desk, freeing up a bit more space. Plus, having the front-facing USB-C ports is a game-changer for convenience. No more reaching around the back for quick connections – a small detail that makes a big impact on daily usability.
And then there's Apple Intelligence. While the M2 had a Neural Engine, the M4's enhanced capabilities are truly making a difference in the latest macOS features. Things like the more intelligent Siri, advanced photo editing suggestions, and smarter contextual searches are not just gimmicks; they're genuinely useful and feel incredibly responsive. It's clear this machine is built to handle the future of AI-driven applications.
Connectivity has also seen a solid bump. Depending on the model, you're getting either more robust Thunderbolt 4 or even Thunderbolt 5 ports, which means even faster external storage and display options if I ever need to expand.
For anyone currently on an M1 or even an M2 Mac Mini, I can confidently say the M4 is a seriously compelling upgrade. If your work involves anything moderately demanding, or if you just appreciate a truly future-proof and incredibly responsive desktop experience, the M4 Mac Mini is an absolute powerhouse in a tiny, refined package. It's not just a faster Mac Mini; it's a smarter, more efficient, and even more enjoyable machine to use every single day.

The Mac mini M4 base model is a beast in a small box. It’s incredibly fast—apps open instantly, multitasking feels effortless, and it stays completely silent even under load. The M4 chip handles everything from office work to light photo and video editing with ease. Setup is plug-and-play simple, and the compact size makes it ideal for any desk setup. Unless you need massive storage or heavy-duty graphics, the base model is more than enough for most users. A sleek, powerful machine at a great value.

This Mac Mini M4 is small indeed, but it is very powerful. This computer is quiet and it is very smooth in operation. I added a 2 TB external SSD to this machine and it is very responsive. Everything opens instantly and works very well. The ports on this machine are fast as well. Over time I plan to add a faster External drive and a new monitor. For now things are great.
This is the best budget PC for the money right now and if you need a new computer this is the one you should get.

The size and design are amazing. It’s incredibly small and sleek, fitting seamlessly into my workspace without taking up much room. Despite its compact form, this device is a true workstation. The M4 chip ensures lightning-fast performance, whether I’m multitasking, editing videos, or running other high performance applications.
The 16GB of memory and 256GB SSD provide great speed and storage for my everyday activities. I was pleasantly surprised by how effortlessly it handles everything I throw at it, all while running extremely quiet.
Highly recommended for those in need of a powerful, efficient, and great designed computer at a very good price.

Picked this up as a spare desktop to keep at a remote location, but it honestly performs so well it’s starting to compete with my main setup. The new M4 chip is lightning fast, and I haven’t hit a single hiccup yet running multiple apps, editing media, or handling remote sessions.
The form factor is classic Mac mini, small enough to hide behind a monitor or tuck on a shelf, but don’t let the size fool you. This thing is an absolute powerhouse. It boots up instantly, stays quiet under load, and sips power compared to a traditional desktop.
Apple really packed some serious muscle into a sleek little box. If you need a dependable and surprisingly powerful machine for work, creative tasks, or even as a travel-friendly setup, this Mac mini delivers far more than expected.

I recently upgraded to the latest model of the Apple Mac mini Desktop, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This powerhouse, equipped with the M4 chip, truly showcases Apple's commitment to innovation and performance. The M4 chip, built specifically for Apple Intelligence, delivers lightning-fast processing speeds and seamless multitasking capabilities. Whether I'm editing high-resolution videos, running complex software, or simply browsing the web, the Mac mini handles it all with ease.
The 16GB of memory ensures that even the most demanding applications run smoothly without any lag. I was particularly impressed with the 256GB SSD, which offers ample storage space and incredibly fast data access. Booting up the system and launching applications is almost instantaneous, making my workflow more efficient than ever.
The compact design of the Mac mini is another highlight. It fits perfectly on my desk without taking up much space, yet it packs a punch in terms of performance. The sleek and minimalist design is a perfect match for any modern workspace.
Overall, the Apple Mac mini Desktop with the M4 chip is a fantastic investment for anyone looking for a powerful, reliable, and stylish desktop computer. I highly recommend it!

I tried to test the mac and I can proudly say that it sucks. (there is 1 plus, my headphones and Wi-Fi did not need to be connected because it is one ecosystem.) CONCLUSION: we throw it into a box of junk.

Had an old PC that couldn't upgrade to Windows 11 due to the requirements. Decided to skip Windows and go with macOS. It wasn't a daily use PC so decided on this Mac Mini with the M4 chip.
Works absolutely flawlessly. I don't do anything strenuous on this one but everything I do is super fast, haven't come close to maxing out the 16gb of ram nor the SSD. My only issue was that it only had USB-C but that isn't a "problem" or "con" to the machine. I just didn't have any keyboards or mice with USB-C. Ended up buying a new non-Apple bluetooth mouse and used a USB-A to USB-C adapter for my keyboard. Both worked great.
Honestly, no complaints whatsoever. Great price for what you get and would recommend to anyone looking for an everyday computer that doesn't require ram or hard drive space-eating software.

Bought my Mac mini a few weeks ago and loving it. Super fast with the M4 chip, great performance in all of my editing (writing, photo, video, etc) and other needs, very easy setup, very compact and easy to take on the go if you need to. It's been a perfect replacement from my last MacBook. Still can't believe how much power it has in such a small desktop. Highly recommend for Apple users!

The new Mac mini with M4 chip has amazing power and speed in such a small device. I use it as my main workstation for office work and also as my main gaming machine. With the 16GB RAM it is more than powerful enough to play games. I added a 1TB external drive to store all of my games and the transfer speeds are great!
