I love mac products they are great, but very expensive. I was hoping to cut a corner by purchasing this mac mini to do my Coding for iOS apps on but the time it takes to compile my code and boot and run everyday programs is really annoying in an age of SSDs, when this thing is running a 5200 RPM Hard drive... If you want a fast computer, do not cut a corner. Go for a macbook or imac or anything with an SSD and upgradable RAM.

I've owned several Mac Mini's over the years. Unfortunately Apple decided in their "Great Wisdom" to make the 2014 Models Non-User Friendly or upgradable. I ended up returning this due to the fact that it doesn't support some of the software I use. It also fried an expensive USB 3 Hub that wasn't supported in Yosemite. Maybe if sales are dismal enough Apple will reintroduce the Intel I7 Quad-core processor and make the RAM upgradable too.

I use Mac for photo and video editing but I am no pro. I still have a iMac but it is over 10 years old so started to look for upgrades. The one thing I do not like is the fact the the memory is soldered in and cannot be upgraded. I went with the model with more memory and hard drive space and I should get another 5 years at least out of this. Great system and runs smoothly for all apps I am currently running

Product is a easy to set up and use. It does require some time to learn the new to me operating system.

Works great most of the time. Now and then I have to pull the power cord out and let it reset.

Not a mac fan but one of my employees was persistent with his request for a work mac. Value is not there. You can spend the same amount on a Dell or a Lenova and get better specs all around. I guess if you're a mac fanatic this is the beat choice for a somewhat powerful desktop. Would never buy for myself though.

Great computer for basic tasks. For a low end Mac, it's very reliable.

We had a iMac for years. Loved it. But when it came time to get a new one we weren’t interested in paying for the large screen rates. We opted for the Mac mini and bought our own flat screen monitor. Saved a ton of money and love the result

I love my mac mini. It is a budget conscious way to get an apple desktop. I would recommend the mid level mini and not the most basic one. The basic model is fine just very slow. This thing will handle the average persons in and out day to day needs with no problems at all.

I needed a new desktop computer to replace my aging Mac Mini. I bought one of these knowing the hardware has not been updated in three years. Apple has not bothered to update this model since 2014. I thought how bad could it be? Well... it's slow. With a traditional hard drive, it has a lot of noticeable lag. Apps take a long time to load. The built in graphics is showing it's age. Not as crisp or detailed as it should be. Especially with a new 4K monitor. It still works great in an Apple ecosystem, but not worth the money in my opinion. I am going to return it.

I have grown to love macmini for using them as a dedicated computer behind a TV even when mounted on the wall. However I'm taking only one star for two things: 1. For this price there should be at least 256gb ssd in there. 2. Ram upgrade impossible by the customer?! Really on the desktop, what was wrong with the previous ram door access, not enough money from clients who need more ram.

This device is excellent for my needs for now. However, it is not upgradable.

Purchased this to replace my failing Mac Mini and am using the newest Mac operating system. Plenty of memory of hard disc space, nothing really new on it though. Maybe they'll upgrade some of the items in the next couple years, works great though.
