Be careful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing wrong with computer, but false advertising on "Product Features" page. "Storage options 1TB Fusion Drive is now standard on the 2.8GHz model, providing the capacity of a hard drive with the performance of flash storage" This is not the computer BestBuy is selling here.

Starting to show it's age
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once a decent computer, the Mac Mini in the middle of 2016 is becoming overshadowed by much powerful machines like the 5K iMac which sports a superior processing unit. Good for web browsing, this machine is not a good fit for anyone with true creative endeavors.

Not current
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to setup, big improvement over my 2010 iMac, but just noticed (after 3 weeks) under About This Mac that this is the 2014 version. I thought I was getting the brand new 2017 model.

First Mac
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to get into the Mac ecosystem. I wanted to use boot camp to dual boot Windows 10. Boot camp wouldn't/couldn't complete the windows install. Returned it and bought the iMac and had no issues dual booting Windows 10.

No documentation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Took all day to get started as the “complete” computer came with no start instructions and since my old computer failed I had no way to look up details on line. Very uosetting. Geek Squad certified meant nothing

Exchanged my 4GB for 8GB of RAM model
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally I purchased the Mac Mini (2014) with the 4GB of memory and 500GB of RAM and while I loved the Mac Mini, I did notice the beach ball come up a bit and sometimes it was slow loading application like office for mac, so I decided to exchange my Mac Mini for the mid range version, which is the 8GB of RAM and 1TB hard drive. Both Mac Mini's got stuck at the initial setup screen and the beach ball just kept spinning for hours. Had to reboot it and start over and for some odd reason it created 2 accounts so I had to delete one of the accounts. On my new 8GB of RAM Mac Mini, It is faster and I like that it has a bigger hard drive, and the spinning beach ball does come up but goes away quite quickly. Also watching movies on the mid range Mac Mini is significantly better and that is probably due to the IRIS Graphics in the mid range vs. the HD 5000 graphics card in the base model. I love my Mac Mini to death and even tho it is my first Mac, I think my PC days are over. My PC laptop is only being used for work now and once that dies I'm getting a Mac Book. Also wish the computers still came with a built in optical drive but I got an external one and it's not a big deal. Summary: Over all the Mac Mini is a good computer and once it finishes booting up, its pretty fast, although it does a little while (around 30-60) for the computer to completely boot up.

Too many compromises
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had hoped for a smoother transition from the PC world, but this product will not write to my existing external hard drives without formatting. Will not play standard MPG files without downloading more bloat ware. Apple charges a lot, but they are not willing to buy licensing agreements with standard developers. It's all Apple, nothing else. Thanks to Best Buy for an easy return.

Good for basic needs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good product for the price. We have another in our home as well. Needed a cost effective space saving computer and this fit the bill.

ok, but needs updated
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought because we needed a replacement machine. Apple has yet to update the specs and for the price, you can get more of a machine.

no longer relevant product, skip this, move along
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was going to replace my existing MacMini with this product and the new one isn't significantly newer than my existing Mini.

Open Box Purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This open box purchase was supposed to be working, but the wifi was not connected in this device. Took it to geek squad in same store I purchased it and they said that it connected to two different wifi connections...LIE. Took it to Simply Mac and they said it wouldn't connect to wifi at all and that I was lied to. They fixed it and it is working perfectly now.

Good machine, just outdated
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once you realize that this machine hasn’t been updated since 2014, you realize that this isn’t such a good buy. Why pay $600 for something that is essentially 4 years old? Especially in the computer world. That being said, it will run High Sierra. I did have a few hiccups so ultimately I returned it. I’m waiting for a new update from Apple.

Way too slow, insane upgrade process
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one of these Mac minis to test some thunderbolt devices I had acquired for resale. It's awful. Mac OS is great, especially iMessage, but this machine is entirely way too slow to make the experience enjoyable, mainly because it has a conventional laptop hard drive. Upgrading it to an SSD is a 30+ step process. I ended up returning it.
