Good specs but a slow do to a slow hard drive. have to spend more to upgrade the hard drive.

For the price of this machine, the hardware is so old. Don't buy this until they update the internals. It just isn't worth the money their asking for it now. It's over 4 years old without any updates. Thats almost forever in technology terms.

In the last three months I had an 8 year old 24" iMac and a early 08 MBP, both stop working due to bad mother boards, I purchased them around the same time. What luck! Anyway I only had my iPad Mini to work from. I did some research on the new Mac Mini's that was more in my price range, I decided to go with the 8gb 1TB unit , I'm glad I did. The unit is very quiet and much faster than my 08 MBP was. In the future I do intend to replace my MBP's mother board. For those of you who use Logic Pro X, I use to get a lot of Overload errors and HI CPU usage using my early 08 MBP, I've been testing it with my new Mac Mini and there is hardly any CPU usage, runs smooth. The only con's I have is that the memory is not upgradable so I would suggest getting at least the 8gb version.

I was hesitant to buy this because of the reviews on big name sites but I looked at the reviews of the people who actually use the machine and decided to give it a try. So glad I did. This was so easy to set up and performs amazingly. I can store it in my desk drawer so it's out of sight. I use a wireless mouse and keyboard so the only thing I need to connect is my monitor. I haven't used a Mac in years so this was a nice introduction to the new Apple. I love the OS it came with. I mainly use the computer to surf the internet and watch videos but I have had lots of programs open and it has preformed amazingly. I love the amount of storage you get too. I have an external hard drive too so I didn't really need the extra room but it's still nice. I would rec this for people who like to do basic computing and want fast and reliable performance. The only thing I don't like is that my mac mini has a slight frosted film on it I can't seem to get rid of. Not sure why that is. It kinda ruins the aesthetic. It's not bad enough to make me want to take it back though.

This is my 3rd Mac Mini (the only computer I have owned), and it has been my worst Apple experience. My mouse is about 15 ft from the unit and has signal drop issues. I have spent hours on the phone with Apple support, and they have been absolutely no help. The Bluetooth issues on this are well documented on online forums, but Apple support teams say that they are blocked from looking at these forums. I have just ordered a $20 dongle on the recommendation of a Mac Rumors forum member, and am hoping that it is a fix for a poorly designed product.

I got this , not knowing it wasn't self upgradable like past Mac Mini' s. . I only give it 4 stars because the ram is not user upgradable. While 8gb of ram is fine for most, I want 16gb. So, after using a week, I searched CraigsList and found the same model, barely used, a year old. I paid $350 for it and upgraded to 16gb of ram for $100 on my own. So' $450 . Now , I have basically the same Mac min, but with 16gb of ram with only $450 invested. I fired this baby up and am blown away by its speed . I am a web journalist /blogger by trade and am constantly working with 15+ tabs open, with live streams and other live updating applications going on 3 monitors and this thing runs way better than my i7 8gb of ram MacBook Pro. Best user experience ever and my 12-15 work days are much smoother

This is my first Mac and got to say that I am loving it so far. It is compact, easy to setup, and fast.

Computer lags quite a bit programs were not responding and it just ran slow which a new computer should not

Purchased this to replace my 8 yr old iMac. Couldn't afford the iMac this time and went with the Mini. No dissappointment at all. Lot of power in this small package, does everything I need. Mac's computers and operating system are the best. I messed with Windows for 25 years and wish I would have got Macs earlier, they are more expensive but last longer and Apple computers ummmm compute like a computer is supposed to do. LOL

this was sold to me brand new in 2020. but was a 2014 model. functionality was not good. was very slow with app loading. i had to buy an external SSD just to open basic applications. would not recommend.

Outdated product - has not been updated since 2014

Went to Bestbuy specifically for a Mac mini. Needed it to run Apple Configurator. I was a little disappointed to find that I paid full price for a four year old Mac. But it does what I needed it to.

This hasn't been updated in three years and its way overpriced for what it is. Sadly it has Thunderbolt2 port and the only thing that would work for me.

Sorry returned and bought a dell computer from you. Decided it was a better fit for me

I became a Mac user 9 years ago. This is my 2nd mini. Mac has done it again with the 8gb 1tb mini! The cost and usability of this mini surpass all expectations. There is absolutely no reason to ever own another pc.

I "Upgraded" from my 2010 model Mac Mini, to this product I am reviewing. On my previous Mac Mini, I had a) the ability to upgrade my 2 GBs of RAM, to 8 GBs very easily (and for only $40), and b) the ability to upgrade my 320 GB HDD, to a 1 TB HDD (only $80). Because the new Mac Mini models don't grant the end-user the ability to perform standard upgrades like these, I was forced to purchase this product I'm reviewing (and not the $499 base model). I can still get all of my programs running MUCH better than my 2010 Mac Mini. Programs such as VMWare Fusion, and Photoshop CS5 run without hiccup, and even though this machine gets really warm while playing Minecraft, there is no lag and a beautiful picture! I would recommend this product to any user who doesn't need more than 8 GBs of RAM.
