For the past five years my 2012 11 inch Macbook Air has been a steady and consistent companion. Despite a paltry 2-3 hour battery life, it did what it needed to do and only occasionally did I notice the lack of screen real estate. Then along came the Retina Macbook- with a better screen, much better battery life, and even lighter than my air. However I was put off by the keyboard and the speed of the m3 processor, as well as the single USB-C port. The upgrades to the 2017 Macbook solved two of my issues- the i5 processor increased the speed and the second generation butterfly keyboard is not just something I can live with, I actually like it. Yes it still has the one port, but I can live with that especially since the cost of multi port adapters has decreased significantly. Bottom line: I love it and the difference from my Air is like a Porsche compared to a Volkswagen. If you have been standing on the fence I would say go for it!

I was doing a lot of comparisons between the various MacBooks and finally chose this model for its balance of size, hard drive, processor, and retina screen. While I don't like having on USB-C port and nothing else, there's a lot of hubs that are reasonably priced, and the size the aesthetics of this machine are great. I've been very satisfied with it. My only complaint is that the keyboard seems a bit loud.

I needed a small portable laptop. After trying the new MacBook Air, which I found too heavy, I bought the small Rose Gold MacBook. In spite of the weird plug in, I love it. I was able to order a matching adapter so I could plug in my backup hard drives ( I found a better one than apple). It is light enough for me and has a long battery life. Although it was more expensive than the air, I love it and am glad I bought it. I use this one primarily for a book I am writing. I travel with it once a week.

I purchased this product for my daughter. She is extremely happy with the products performance and capabilities. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful laptop that’s very user friendly and light weight

I bought this Apple - Macbook® - 12" - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 512GB Flash Storage as a crisis gift to myself. I am a teacher, and this is exactly what I needed. It is very light, absolutely reliable, and I love the color (gold)

The MacBook gets better again with a faster processor and SSD. The keyboard is improved but feels the same to me. The same size means my plastic case and keyboard cover still fit. The main reason I upgraded is Apple's new AppleCare+ for the MacBook. For $249 you increase the warranty to 3 years and add 2 incidents of accidental breakage protection. Replacing the display is $529 alone. Under AppleCare+ breakage protection it's $99. With an Autistic son damage to anything is possible. The laptop is well built but not bullet proof.

I love how portable and versatile this machine is. In my opinion apples only flaw, ( that I can see so far) is that the machine should have had 2 usb c ports. Currently you need to charge your MacBook then connect an external drive or CD rom or purchase a powered usb c hub, which is not sold at bby, as of yet.

Love the size. So easy to take on the go. Very light.

Retina display... plenty of storage... a very light and easily portable computer. The MacBook keyboard is one of the best (since the revamp). I love to type with this laptop. A quality machine.

Absolutely love my new MacBook, lightweight, sturdy. The only downfall is not dvd drive.

for my situation this MacBook works out better than iPad.

I purchased this MacBook to take with me when traveling or when I need it for workshops that I attend. I found it to be easier to tote around than my 15 inch MacBook. I really like both sizes though.

It is taking some getting used to, but I love the lightness of it and how easy it to use.

I love Apple MacBook's because they are really easy to set up and use. The only issue with this one was no USB port, but it was easily fixed with an adapter. Although you can't have the power plugged in and the adapter in at the same time so battery drains pretty quickly. I still would recommend this laptop to a friend.

Outstanding for work travel. So light, like an iPad yet so powerful. Great display and sound. Absolutely love it.

Would recommend to others. Love apple product. Love the size as stated above. Easy to carry and love the color.

Don't get me wrong, I love this MacBook, it has lots of space for my music and movies...it works great on the internet (I don't use it for much else to be honest). But the only things wrong with it is there are no USB ports and no memory card slots. Other than that I love it, it is perfect!! To remedy the USB situation I bought a adapter but not sure what to do about the memory card one. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend!!!

I'm so happy apple released gold macbook products. I was worried about going from an old macbook pro to a regular macbook, but so far so great. I have no problems running large programs such as adobe cc thus far.

This is my 3rd MacBook. I’m absolutely in love. The clarity of the picture and the battery life.

Im still fully trying it out but so far so good. It’s so small!
